Chapter 2481: Chapter 401: Qiao Sang VS Feng Fu (Double-Length)_2
Generally speaking, Pet Beasts without a Beast Tamer Contract basically can’t act on their own in Dragon Country on Blue Star, but there is one exception: Pet Beasts that once had a Beast Tamer Contract, but whose Beast Tamer has already died.
These Pet Beasts are split into several situations: some live on their own, some look for a new Beast Tamer to sign a Contract with, some get assigned work by the government, some stay with the family, and some choose to head for Secret Realms with lower danger levels.
Among the Pet Beasts that can stay with the family, most are higher-Level Pet Beasts. If a Pet Beast’s Level reaches Emperor Level or above, it can even be worshipped by the whole clan, treated like a stabilizing pillar of the family.
That kind of Pet Beast has especially high status, and usually even has decision-making power in certain matters.
Of course, that’s only within the family it belongs to.
If the family backing a Pet Beast happens to be connected to the authorities, it really might be able to directly decide something like the prize...
Mikaela nodded. "That’s just one possibility I thought of."
"If that’s the case, it’s actually nothing to me." Qiao Sang looked at the figure shuttling back and forth between the thunderclouds in the high sky and laughed. "It just wants to pick a Beast Tamer with talent for Tingbao. I should be thanking it for delivering Tingbao to me."
Mikaela smiled and stopped talking.
Indeed, if things were really as she guessed, then judging from the outcome, both sides were very satisfied.
Even though Tingbao isn’t completely pureblood, having Wukong Dragon bloodline gives it far more possibilities than Pet Beasts of ordinary Little Ting Dragon Species, and makes it more valuable.
...
The next day, two in the afternoon.
Saye International Competition Hall, blazing sun overhead.
Looking around, it was nothing but a dark, packed mass of human and Pet Beast heads.
The candidates hadn’t even entered yet, but the stands were already buzzing, noise everywhere.
"For this match I bet on Qiao Sang winning 6:0."
"Same here. I don’t even need to watch this one, I already know the result. Qiao Sang is definitely going to shut out Feng Fu for the win."
"Feng Fu making it this far means she’s got strength too, but who told her to run into Qiao Sang."
"Come on, I feel like Feng Fu getting into the top ten was mostly luck. Last round she barely scraped by. If she’d run into Xia Huo and the others earlier, she would’ve absolutely lost."
"Feng Fu’s Yuanzhuo University is ranked fourth among interstellar universities, and Qiao Sang shut out even Xia Huo, then shut out Gaston from Yuliandun University last round. I honestly don’t know how she’s supposed to lose this one."
"I don’t think it’s that certain. Sometimes with Pet Beasts you have to look at attribute or Trait advantage. What if Feng Fu’s Pet Beast just happens to counter the ones Qiao Sang sends out?"
"You’ve got a point. Did you buy any bets?"
"Bought."
"What score did you bet on?"
"Qiao Sang 6:0 Feng Fu."
"..."
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Tang Country’s Saye International Competition Hall! Also the venue for the Master Challenge! I’m your host, Nephthys!"
"And I’m your host, Auroal!"
Down on the field, the two hosts appeared out of thin air in full ceremonial dress.𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
With their appearance, a wave of loud cheering rolled through the stands, and countless human and Pet Beast gazes all fell on them.
"Today’s guest is—Sidong Flower!" Nephthys swept her hand to the side and shouted.
The moment she finished speaking, a white beam of light dropped straight down at the spot she’d indicated.
The temperature across the whole arena suddenly plummeted, and the spectators in the front rows all showed relaxed, comfortable expressions.
When the light beam faded, a Pet Beast about one meter tall, wearing a Mini Shrinking Bracelet, its whole body mainly white, even its leaves white, with a flower-like head adorned by a snowflake-shaped hairpin, appeared in everyone’s sight.
"Sidong Flower! Sidong Flower!" The entire hall instantly erupted into even more enthusiastic cheering, like they were seeing some ultra-popular candidate.
Sidong Flower, an Emperor Level Pet Beast with dual Ice-Type and Grass-type attributes. This combination is extremely rare not only on Flame Sky Star, but across the whole interstellar space, so on Flame Sky Star—where Ice-type Pet Beasts are already extremely scarce—Sidong Flower is wildly popular.
Amid the cheers of humans and Pet Beasts alike, the two hosts and the guest vanished from the field and reappeared at the commentary booth.
"This is the last match of the day! Also the final match of the top ten qualifying into the top five!" At the commentary booth, Auroal raised his voice, full of passion:
"Let’s welcome the last pair of candidates for this round! Candidate Feng Fu from Yuanzhuo University of Tianyuan Star! And Candidate Qiao Sang from Blue Star Empire Beast Taming Academy!!!"
"Qiao Sang! Qiao Sang!"
"Feng Fu! Feng Fu!"
"Qiao Sang! Qiao Sang!"
The whole arena burst into deafening cheers and screams. Most people and Pet Beasts were shouting Qiao Sang’s name, and the intensity and fervor felt less like welcoming candidates about to enter and more like chanting the name of a candidate who had already won.
