Chapter 2498: Chapter 408: Round Robin Match 2

"If you’re homesick, you can head back to Blue Star first after the tournament."

She wasn’t someone who easily changed her set goals, but Qiao Sang’s current situation had already far exceeded her plans for the next thirty years. Taking a long vacation now wouldn’t hurt.

Qiao Sang was slightly moved, but she still declined. "Let’s stick to the original plan and go to Tianyuan Star. When the tournament is over, I’ll just give my family a video call."

Knowing her mother, accepting an interstellar interview that would be broadcast to other planets was something she would definitely make a huge fuss about. She would first post it on Moments, and then "accidentally" broadcast it to everyone. Either way, everyone around her would find out sooner or later.

But this time, she hadn’t seen anything about the interview on Moments, nor had her mother sent her a message about it. She really didn’t want to distract her. Qiao Sang felt both deeply touched and somewhat emotional. Her mother had never been like this before. Now, for her sake, she had actually restrained the urge to show off to the world.

As these thoughts flashed through her mind, Little Treasure Spirit, who hadn’t yet gone in for its examination, held up a phone beside her and cried out, "Xun Xun~"

It turned out her mother had posted on Moments after all.

Qiao Sang looked at it. "What post on Moments?"

"Xun Xun~" Little Treasure Spirit picked up the phone and pointed the screen at her. It was about the interview. After buying a phone, Little Treasure Spirit had added quite a few friends, including Ye Xiangting.

Qiao Sang looked at the screen. When she saw the content posted by that familiar profile picture, three question marks practically appeared over her head. She realized her mother had already broadcasted it to everyone, but had simply blocked her from seeing it. Half of the warmth Qiao Sang felt in her heart vanished in an instant.

Suddenly, she caught a whiff of a familiar, refreshing scent. She couldn’t help but turn to Shalala, lowering her voice. "Why are you suddenly releasing your scent?"

She was a little worried that others might realize Shalala’s uniqueness based on the smell.

"Qingqing?" Shalala didn’t answer. Instead, it let out a cry, asking if she was feeling any better now.

She realized it was purposely releasing its scent because it thought she was in a bad mood. Qiao Sang felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She pulled Shalala into a hug and said gently, "I’ve been in a great mood this whole time."

The refreshing scent Shalala emitted could clear the minds of the people and Pet Beasts around it, as well as lift their spirits.

"Qingqing." Feeling the warm embrace, Shalala’s eyes curved into happy crescents.

1:00 AM.

Inside a room in the villa, a soft light was still on. Qiao Sang walked into the living room, opened the fridge, and poured herself a drink.

"Why aren’t you asleep yet?" Mikaela asked as she came downstairs.

"Why are you still awake too?" Qiao Sang was a bit surprised. She occasionally stayed up late herself, but Teacher Mikaela almost never did.

"I’m writing a paper," Mikaela said as she walked over to the fridge and poured herself a drink as well.

"I just can’t sleep when I think about the upcoming match," Qiao Sang replied, answering the earlier question.

"Haven’t you been perfectly fine before your previous matches?" Mikaela looked at her.

"I don’t know..." Qiao Sang took a sip of juice and pondered before saying, "Maybe my mindset is different now."

"Don’t be nervous, and don’t feel too much pressure," Mikaela comforted. "You’re already in the top three of the Masters Challenge. Even if you lose all your subsequent matches, you’re still guaranteed third place. Achieving such a rank in the Masters Challenge at your age is entirely unprecedented."

Saying this, she smiled. "Before you entered this tournament, I never imagined you would make it this far. Not just me—probably no one expected it."

"Xun Xun~" Suddenly, Little Treasure Spirit appeared, raised its paw, and let out a cry, indicating that it hadn’t expected it either.

Qiao Sang fell silent for a moment before saying, "I’m not feeling too much pressure."

"Then what is it?" Mikaela asked.

Qiao Sang thought about it for a second and expressed her feelings. "I feel a bit excited. My blood is practically boiling."

Mikaela stared at her, three question marks practically appearing over her head.

"Serana has been a strong contender for the championship from the very beginning," Qiao Sang said. "The thought of being able to compete on the same stage as her fills me with anticipation."

As she spoke, her eyes sparkled with an eager light.

Mikaela inexplicably thought of Yaobao, who was always so excited to train that it would keep going until it fell asleep. She mused that people really did start to resemble their Pet Beasts in certain aspects after spending enough time together. Her mouth twitched slightly as she said, "When competing against a Professional Beast Tamer like her, it’s even more crucial for you to rest up and build up your energy before the match."

"It’s fine," Qiao Sang said. "I’m planning to review Serana’s previous matches again. When it’s time to set off, I’ll just have Lubao hit me with a Healing Light."
