Chapter 1657

Chapter 642 Life Diversion (Part 2)

“Xunxun!”

Little Xunbao exclaimed with delight.

Seventh Brother has evolved!

Then, as if remembering something, it removed the ring, enlarged it, quickly pulled out its phone, turned on the camera, and started filming Xia Bao.

“Qingqing.”

Qingbao suddenly appeared beside it, looking at the footage on the phone and calling out.

It remembered that Xia Bao always looked the same after each evolution, except the color of the flower buds changed; there wasn’t much to film.

Little Xunbao was speechless.

“Gangquan…”

Gangbao looked at the light of evolution before it, its expression unchanged, but inwardly feeling relieved.

It seemed its intelligence hadn’t been affected by its Beastmaster…

Michaela’s eyes suddenly lit up, a look of joy on his face:

“Successfully evolved! Your analysis was correct; Xia Bao needs more vegetation!”

While everyone else was drawn to the light of evolution, Qiao Sang immediately went to the Beastmaster’s Codex, flipped to the page about Xia Bao, and quickly added the few remaining points after the level.

When her consciousness returned to reality, the first thing she heard was Teacher Michaela saying, “Your analysis is correct.”

“It was Steelball who thought of it,” Josang laughed.

Steelball looked at its Beastmaster, a hint of surprise flashing in its eyes, seemingly not expecting its Beastmaster to so readily admit its intelligence was inferior.

Josang: “…”

Was my intelligence inferior to yours? I just thought a little slower… Josang thought to herself, then continued,

“If it were me, I might take a few seconds longer to think of it.”

Steelball listened to its Beastmaster’s inner thoughts and spoken words, a smile flashing in its eyes.

“Steelball’s race truly lives up to its reputation for high intelligence, being able to figure out so quickly that Xia Bao’s inability to evolve before was due to insufficient vegetation,” Michaela remarked.

She praised Steelball, but her eyes didn’t leave the white light before her.

The inability to evolve before was due to insufficient vegetation; it seems that for Xia Bao to successfully evolve in the future, it will need an environment with more vegetation… and the vegetation must be in a pleasant mood… Josang pondered for a moment.

The conditions don’t seem too difficult, but I wonder how much of a natural environment Xia Bao will need as its level increases. I guess it’ll have to try different places each time it evolves. However, with Little Treasure Hunter’s spatial teleportation ability, finding a place where Xia Bao can evolve shouldn’t be too hard.

Just then, a refreshing scent emanated from the white light.

The surrounding flowers and plants swayed even more vigorously, seemingly pleased.

“Qingqing…”

Qing Bao, smelling the pleasant scent in the wind, couldn’t resist moving closer to the white light, sniffing with a slightly infatuated expression.

“Xunxun~”

Little Treasure Hunter, still filming, looked at Qing Bao appearing in the lens and called out, indicating, “Move aside, you’re blocking my filming of Old Seven evolving.”

Qing Bao: “…”

The infatuated expression on Qing Bao’s face disappeared, returning to its usual appearance. At the same time, the clouds beneath it subtly darkened before dissipating into the wind.

Michaela suddenly thought of something and said,

“After we leave the secret realm, we’ll take Xia Bao to register the day before the competition.”

Qiao Sang was taken aback: “Even if Xia Bao evolves, he’ll only be a general-level beast. It won’t matter if everyone knows, right?”

“It’s not that I’m afraid people will pay attention to Xia Bao, it’s that I’m afraid people will pay too much attention to you.” Michaela said earnestly, “As long as you register at the Beast Taming Center, it will definitely be known. Then everyone will pay attention to you. Even though it’s Xia Bao who evolved, everyone will definitely think that your pet evolved too quickly and its strength increased too fast. On the eve of the competition, some cautious forces might investigate your information again in detail.”

There’s no point in investigating again. I trained myself in the secret realm, and at that time, Ya Bao probably hadn’t evolved yet… Qiao Sang asked,

“What about the pre-competition pet physical examination?”

I remember that in these kinds of interstellar competitions, the pets of the participants have to undergo physical examinations before the competition, and the pets examined must be the same as those registered at the Beast Taming Center.

“You’re an S-rank professional beast tamer now,” Michaela chuckled. “Even the organizers wouldn’t dare offend an S-rank professional beast tamer easily. Just say you’re busy, and have the inspection team come to check on you before the competition.”

She paused, then added,

“In S-rank professional beast tamer competitions, the inspection team basically checks on the contestants’ schedules.”

“Pfft,”

Michaela suddenly added.

Except for the Interstellar Cup.

“Yes.” Michaela nodded. “The Interstellar Cup is arguably the most rigorous competition for S-class professional Beastmasters. The inspection teams come unannounced to check on you, regardless of your schedule or routine.”

Upon hearing this, Qiao Sang suddenly remembered a news story she had seen and laughed.

“I know, I remember a player who participated in the Interstellar Cup was having diarrhea when the inspection team suddenly showed up. They insisted on stopping him from going to the bathroom and made him summon his pet for inspection.”

“Afterwards, that player complained to various media outlets.”

Michaela laughed.

“I’ve seen that news too.”

As she spoke, she suddenly remembered something, and the smile on her face disappeared. “Actually, it’s not so bad for the players, it’s mainly the pets. Some pets might have been doing their own thing at the time…”

“Pee-pee.”

Before she could finish, Penjami called out in agreement, indicating that her own Beastmaster had been suddenly inspected and had to summon AiAi and the others back…

Qiao Sang pricked up her ears, listening intently.

“Ahem…” Michaela coughed twice.

Penjami understood and immediately shut up.

Qiao Sang: “!!!”

No! Keep going! “What do you mean by suddenly stopping halfway through your story?”

Qiao Sang was about to speak

when suddenly, she sensed something and looked in Xia Bao’s direction.

The dazzling white light was gradually disappearing.

Qiao Sang’s thoughts abruptly stopped, her eyes lighting up as she stared intently at the direction of the white light.

Soon, the white light completely vanished, revealing Xia Bao’s figure.

Its shape and size remained unchanged, except that the purplish-red bud on its neck had turned purple, and a yellow bud had appeared.

Yellow… Could Xia Bao’s battle form have gained an electric element again…? Qiao Sang looked at the color-changing bud on Xia Bao’s neck, a thought flashing through her mind.

After all, yellow is basically the color representing electric elements.

“Xunxun!”

Little Xun Bao put down its phone and happily called out to Xia Bao.

“Xia Xia!”

Xia Bao’s eyes curved into a happy expression, and then it looked at its Beastmaster, its expression becoming even happier.

The bud on its neck swayed, just about to float over, when Qing Bao suddenly appeared beside it, hugged it tightly, buried its head in its neck and took a deep sniff, revealing an intoxicated expression:

“Qing Qing~”

Xia Bao could only stay where it was, letting itself be hugged.

“Xunxun?”

Little Xun Bao looked on with curiosity.

Is it really that fragrant?

Saying that, it teleported next to Xia Bao, imitating Qing Bao’s actions, preparing to bury its head in the bud.

Just as its head was about to bury itself in the flower bud, Qingbao pushed it away.

Xiao Xunbao pouted.

Xia Bao looked at its beast tamer with pleading eyes.

Qiao Sang understood and said,

“Xia Bao, come here and let me see.”

“Xia Xia!”

Xia Bao’s eyes crinkled as it called out.

Qingbao reluctantly released its paw .

Xia Bao quickly floated towards its beast tamer.

Qiao Sang took the opportunity to hug it, looking at Xia Bao in her arms, whose appearance hadn’t changed at all. After racking her brains for a moment, she praised it with three words:

“It smells better now.”

Gangbao glanced at its beast tamer.

“Xia Xia.”

Xia Bao’s eyes curved into crescents as it called out happily.

Michaela smiled at Xia Bao, saying,

“With more yellow buds, Xia Bao’s battle form might have an electric element.” “

I think so too…” Qiao Sang looked at Xia Bao in her arms and said,

“Let’s see it transform into its battle form.”

“Xia Xia.”

Xia Bao nodded obediently, leaving its Beastmaster’s embrace and floating into the air, its body suddenly glowing green.

Under the rich green light, its size rapidly increased and changed.

A short while later, the green light dissipated.

A pet beast about 1.5 meters tall appeared, its body mostly emerald green, with two pairs of pure white wings covered in jade-like patterns. With each flap, wings seemed to ripple with a faint green light. A purple flower adorned one ear and a blue flower the other, and a yellow flower was held in its hand. A silver circle pattern adorned its forehead.

This was Xia Bao’s battle form… Qiao Sang stared at the drastically changed Xia Bao for a moment, then focused her gaze on its wings.

The wings have changed so much…

“Xunxun~”

“Qingqing.”

Little Xunbao and Qingbao appeared on Xia Bao’s left and right sides, curiously observing.

“Xunxun…”

Soon, Little Xunbao noticed that Xia Bao’s current battle form was larger than before, and couldn’t help but sigh deeply.

“Qingqing…”

Qingbao smelled the fragrance in the air, and before she could control herself, she clung to Xia Bao again, showing an intoxicated expression.

“His appearance in battle form has changed quite a bit,” Michaela remarked.

Josang’s gaze fell on the yellow flower in Xia Bao’s hand, and a thought struck her. She said,

“Teacher, Xia Bao has evolved now. I’ll take it to continue training.”

Michaela hesitated for a moment: “It just evolved. Why don’t we go to Stein and have him check it out?”

“No need,” Josang said. “We’re still in the secret realm. Checking it won’t be of any use. We can wait until we get out.” As she spoke

, she became serious:

“Ya Bao hasn’t woken up yet, so Xia Bao needs to seize the time and train more.”

Even though Xia Bao has evolved, it’s only at the general level. Even if it trains 24 hours a day without rest, it won’t be enough… Michaela was about to speak

when she suddenly caught a glimpse of Xia Bao, who stood up straight, looking serious with an “I’m ready” expression. She immediately swallowed back what she was about to say and said,

“I’ll go with you.”

“Lu Bao still needs your supervision,” Josang politely declined.

During this time, Lu Bao was either training with Penjami or with Wuyou, and Teacher Michaela would always be there to watch and offer guidance from time to time.

Today, Lu Bao was training with Wu Yuanwang.

Michaela paused for two seconds, then said,

“Try releasing Xia Bao’s new skill and come back. It’s evolved now, so you need to spend more time with Lu Bao and the others.”

Qiao Sang nodded slightly, “Understood.”

“Meimei,” Michaela called out.

“Penpen,”

Penjiamei nodded to Qiao Sang, signaling it to take its Beastmaster away first.

Then, its eyes glowed blue, and it disappeared with Michaela.

Finally, I can see Xia Bao’s Beastmaster Manual… Qiao Sang looked at Xia Bao and said,

“Change back to normal form first.”

“Xia Xia?”

Xia Bao looked puzzled and called out.

Wasn’t it supposed to be training?

Qiao Sang immediately said, “You’ve just evolved; we need to test your combat power in both normal and battle forms.”

“Xia Xia,”

Xia Bao nodded, then looked at Qing Bao, who was still clinging to it.

“Qing Qing…”

Qing Bao released its paw and backed away.

A faint green light emanated from Xia Bao’s body, and its size slowly shrank until it returned to its normal form.

At the same time, Qiao Sang’s consciousness quickly entered the Beast Taming Codex and turned to the page about Xia Bao.
