Afterword
If you started with the first volume, thanks for waiting! If you’re just joining us, welcome aboard! I’m Yuumikan.
Your support has made a second volume of I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense possible.
It’s thanks to you that we were able to get a second volume out so fast.
I was very relieved when they had to do a second printing of the first volume right after release.
Having a book physically in your hands really drives home how much you’ve actually written.
But…seeing them all lined up in the store is a very strange feeling.
It’s like it’s no longer yours.
Something that once seemed like a distant realm is suddenly close to home.
Maybe I’ll get used to that feeling in time…if people keep supporting the series and I get to keep putting out more volumes.
But right now, I feel like I’ll never get used to it.
In fact, I think it’s good to stay a little nervous. I’ll never be the type to act like I own the place.
But yeah. The first volume brought me all kinds of new emotions.
And working on Bofuri, Vol. 2 brought a lot of new experiences, as novel as they were challenging.
Trimming things down is even harder than adding new material. And I’m sure I caused a lot of headaches in the process.
All of this is still very new to me, and all the more fulfilling as a result.
Looking back, I first posted the material in Bofuri, Vol. 2 over a year ago. Readers who have been with me from the start may even find they’ve forgotten half of it.
KOIN drew some fabulous illustrations, and my editor helped improve the pacing.
I hope those readers will enjoy this new version and the differences it brings.
And like I did in Volume 1, I’d better bring the second volume of I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense to a close.
If good fortune came my way once…
…and even twice, then the third time’s got to be the charm.
Let’s hope that saying’s true!
And look forward to meeting again in Volume 3.
