Afterword
Let me start by thanking anyone who’s followed the series thus far. If this is your first time, I would love nothing more than for you to keep reading.
I am the author, Yuumikan.
Your support has allowed I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense to successfully reach Volume 3.
I’ve tried to bring you the best book I could—once again, I would not be here without the help of so many others, so that is my way of returning the favor.
Between the second and third volumes, several important things happened.
First, they made a commercial.
I remember watching it and feeling like it was so unreal. I never dreamed anything like that would happen when I started writing, and I couldn’t believe something so wonderful had actually come to pass.
That’s a feeling I hope stays with me.
Second, there’s going to be a manga adaptation. When I was told this, I was happy—and again, I could not believe my ears.
I can’t draw at all myself, so seeing Maple’s adventures take shape before my eyes is a source of constant joy.
There are a few more things I should say about this adaptation.
The Bofuri manga will be drawn by Jirou Oimoto.
He’s got a cute art style that really conveys the charm of the characters and how much fun they have exploring together.
It’ll be running in Monthly Comp-Ace, so I hope you’ll pick it up when the time comes.
About the third novel—when I was writing it, I was clearly in a mood to jam in everything I like.
Reading back over it, that is far clearer to me than it was when I wrote it. I’ve added a number of extra descriptions and hopefully made it all easier to read.
I plan to continue taking things one task at a time, and I hope to bring you all more good news.
With that in mind, let me bring I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, Vol. 3 to a close.
Treasuring each step.
In hopes of more glad tidings.
And the prospect of a fourth volume in days to come.
Yuumikan
