Chapter 234: Renovation and Site Selection
Chapter 234: Renovation and Site Selection
‘It should be Genbeier and Guan Kelai… Did Xiao Xi actually bring both of them along?’ Zi Jiu wasn’t surprised by this. She figured they had likely run into each other on the road and teamed up.
After confirming that Yun Ruoxi was safe, Lin Zhen got down to business. “Elder Chacha, can you help us disguise our signals? We need to evade the battle camp’s surveillance to build the spaceship.”
“Disguise the signals?”
Chacha didn’t reply immediately, pondering for a moment as if analyzing the feasibility. After a long while, he answered, “I can try, but I will need your help, Lin Zhen.”
“Please tell me what to do, Elder.”
“Do you still have that signal transmitter I taught you about?”
“Yes, I have many of them right here!” Lin Zhen said hurriedly.
The principle behind the button-type signal receivers he had distributed to Zi Jiu, Yun Ruoxi, and the others was identical to the chicha-style signal transmitter.
This was so that if a transmitter was accidentally lost, they could modify the receivers on their bodies into transmitters to send their coordinates to Chacha.
“Good. I will transmit some files to you next. Modify the transmitter according to the instructions. Once you ensure its frequency matches the neck collar, I can use the transmitter to help you with the disguise!” Chacha explained seriously.
Lin Zhen’s eyes flickered, and he quickly followed up, “Then, Elder, if I modify seven transmitters, can you help disguise the locations of all of us?”
“If my spaceship were still here and I could connect to the external computational brain inside, it would be possible, but not now!” Chacha admitted frankly.
Although this sudden idea couldn’t be realized, the initial goal had been achieved. Lin Zhen wasn’t too disappointed.
Upon receiving the files from Chacha, he immediately took out a signal transmitter and began the modification.
The file had clearly been compiled by Chacha on the fly; it didn’t involve overly advanced scientific knowledge, and the required methods weren’t complex. Lin Zhen could complete everything using his supernatural power.
It could only be said that this was the true value of Chacha as a Level 4 cyborg from the Empire’s peak.
Even though most of his memories were overwritten by useless data, the remaining fragments allowed him to hack into the Saints’ hand society’s network at will without being detected.
To Lin Zhen, Chacha’s knowledge was as vast and endless as the ocean. No matter what problem he encountered, asking Chacha would eventually yield a solution.
Thinking of this, Lin Zhen couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. ‘It would be great if I could learn all the scientific knowledge Chacha has stored.’
Then, his various abilities would surely grow by leaps and bounds.
After all, Dr. Forefinger had told him more than once that his supernatural power, **[Metal Reconstruction]**, was fully capable of allowing him to create miracles where the weak defeated the strong.
His current combat performance was quite average, not primarily because of the limitations of his Stellar Energy Index, but because of the lack of knowledge in his mind.
A light breeze blew in through the window, bringing with it a bit of the outside noise.
Lin Zhen shook his head, snapped back to reality, and continued to focus on modifying the signal transmitter. The modification lasted until the afternoon before it was finished.
Lin Zhen checked it, and after confirming there were no issues, he contacted Chacha again, who was currently rushing through the Star Sea.
“Good. Now, place the signal transmitter somewhere else. I can then disguise your current location along with the surveillance signal, evading the battle camp’s monitoring.”
“Can it be anywhere?” Lin Zhen asked.
“Yes, but it’s best to avoid areas that can be observed by the periscopes on the warships.”
Chacha’s signal disguise was only aimed at the neck collars and wristwatches; it couldn’t deceive periscopes that monitored directly through optical means.
But fortunately, the number of warship periscopes that could directly observe the surface was limited, and it was impossible for them to be fixed on one spot 24 hours a day.
Moreover, most of Samira-21’s surface was covered in vegetation, with trees blotting out the sun, which greatly reduced the possibility of being directly discovered by a periscope.
As long as Lin Zhen used a bit of disguise, it would be enough.
After thinking it over, he glanced at the map on his wristwatch, went out to find Kaos, and instructed, “A Kai, you’re the fastest. I need you to go to this tunnel connected to the underground world and help me place the disguised signal transmitter there!”
Kaos looked at the map and estimated the distance. “It will take me 2 days for a round trip.”
“Alright, 2 days it is. Remember not to walk in areas not covered by the tree canopy.” Lin Zhen nodded, handed the signal transmitter to Kaos, and informed Chacha that they could begin.
“I am starting — signal disguise complete!”
As Chacha’s voice faded, everyone immediately looked at their wristwatches. Two green dots on the map were rapidly moving away from the house they were in.
They looked out the window again. Using the geographical advantage of the great rock’s height, they could still see Kaos, who had just left, racing through the streets and alleys—and he was only one person.
“It worked!” Anvil said happily.
Lin Zhen also took a deep breath. “Now it’s my turn.”
“Since the monitoring issue is resolved, A Zhen, have you thought about where to build the spaceship?”
Since everyone’s signals in the room were blocked, Yun Che asked directly without any hesitation.
But once the blocking was lifted later, unless the spaceship was completed and Lin Zhen notified them to depart, they couldn’t say anything related to the plan, nor could they stay with Lin Zhen.
This was to prevent the battle camp from discovering Lin Zhen, who shouldn’t be here, through the neck collars on their bodies.
One could say that in a little while, it would be Lin Zhen’s battlefield alone.
From something as big as building a spaceship to something as small as eating, drinking, and sleeping, he would have to find ways to solve it all by himself. Therefore, before that happened, everyone wanted to help him first.
“I’ve thought about it.” Lin Zhen nodded.
“Where?” Zi Jiu asked quickly. “We’ll go and prepare some food for you there first.”
“Right here.” Lin Zhen pointed to the floor.
“Building a spaceship in this villa?” Anvil asked.
“Wrong!” Lin Zhen shook his head. “The interior of this great rock is almost entirely composed of metal, and it’s so massive. It is the perfect secret base for me to build a spaceship.”
“I see!” Yun Che nodded in realization, thinking the place Lin Zhen chose was quite good.
Even they, who were so close to Lin Zhen, hadn’t thought of it due to a mental blind spot—that Lin Zhen could rely on his supernatural power to directly turn the great rock into a factory and generate a spaceship on the spot. If they hadn’t thought of it, others certainly wouldn’t.
Zi Jiu stood up. “No time to lose. We’ll go prepare food for you right now.”
“Alright. I plan to dig a hole straight down from this house, creating a tunnel into the rock.”
Lin Zhen moved the bed aside and added, “Later, I’ll cover it with the bed and lift the signal blocking on your neck collars. When the time comes, just put the food you’ve gathered in the room and lock the door. I’ll come out and get it myself.”
