HEY, ALL, thank you so much for picking up the first volume of Buck Naked in Another World. The story you just read was an enhanced version of what I originally wrote and first posted online starting back in summer of 2015, and it goes all the way up through the end of 2016.

Trying to get everything ready for publication turned out to be a lot harder than I first thought, and the first volume of this series ended up going on sale at the same time as the second one. Not only that, but Ashimoto★Yoi-sensei started on the manga for this series with Takeshobo, and MAG Garden started publishing another one of my series in comic form. I couldn’t be happier as an author for all that to happen.

When I read the manga and reread everything I posted online before as I got ready to fix up my original draft of the story, I was surprised at how Yoshida Shuta practically overflowed with stamina and vitality! Seeing how positive his character was drawn in the manga was also a happy rediscovery of what kind of person he was. The second volume of that manga came out the same day as this book, so please pick it up and give it a read if you find it in a bookstore or something!

By the way, the very first day I started penning this story, I just happened to visit a local restaurant with some of the richest, most delicious ramen imaginable. As I was eating, I got a text from my friend saying that if I wrote a story about a fish-out-of-water story about a guy being reborn in another world, it would definitely rack up views online. I thought he was crazy, but posting this was really the start of something great. Thinking back on it now, I have nothing but gratitude toward them. Thank you…thank you so much!

Now whenever I’m coming back from a meeting, or something bad happens to me, or I just want to rediscover why I got into this story in the first place, I go back to that restaurant and order the same thing I ordered back on that day.

I hope you think about this series whenever you have yourself an amazing bowl of ramen, too!
