A Day Without Baron Teucher Part 1

Sunday morning at Oriel Estate began with Ernest Teucher committing a fundamental wardrobe error.

He dressed normally. Or, more accurately, he dressed normally according to the exacting standards of an industrial magnate.

He wore a crisp white linen shirt, a dark silk waistcoat, tailored charcoal wool trousers, and hand-lasted leather shoes polished to a mirror sheen. Over these rested a tailored morning coat cut from superfine black broadcloth by one of Helmarte's premier master tailors. His heavy gold pocket watch rested securely in his waistcoat pocket, its linked chain catching the morning light, while a discrete silver pin bearing the Teucher crest was fastened to his left lapel.

Nothing extravagant. Nothing ostentatious. At least, that was Ernest's measured opinion.
