Volume 5, Chapter 8 – The Light Rain of Yureidon Territory
Two carriages were speeding across the grasslands.
Eight-legged horses, a breed originating from the Milcandis Holy Kingdom, were a rare sight in Silvar. Here, ordinary elves preferred to use land birds that resembled ostriches as draft animals. However, the lead carriage of this pair was being pulled by two eight-legged horses. If one were to look closer, they would also notice the family crest of the elf royal family engraved on the luxurious carriage. This caused the crowds of refugees carrying large and small bundles on either side of the road to cast looks of reverence and curiosity. They couldn’t understand why royalty would come to this land of dead ley lines, a place spurned by all.
As the carriages ventured deeper into the grasslands, the lush green grass along the way could be seen gradually turning a withered yellow. The gently rolling hills in the distance didn’t even have withered grass; the brown earth was exposed, making even the azure sky seem dim.
This was a sign of the land’s death. When the ley lines were blocked or broken and the mana particles in the earth were nearly depleted, the land would take on such an appearance.
It should be noted that the scene Fia was seeing now was how the land looked right after it had died. If the lack of mana persisted for too long, the land would take on the barren and deathly silent appearance of the land across from the Holy Tree. People would feel unwell just by standing on it, and living in such an environment for a long time could easily lead to all sorts of strange illnesses. This was one of the main reasons people were fleeing.
“Let’s stop here.”
After giving the order to Anastasia, who was driving the carriage outside, Fia straightened the numerous pleated decorations on her black skirt. She stood up and glanced out the window at the other carriage, which was slowly decelerating behind them. Seated inside that carriage were several magic casters from the High Elf Tower, one of whom Fia had met before.
On the morning of General Greyan’s death, Fia had seen this magic caster named Nagg in Greyan’s room. From Fia’s observation, the relationship between Nagg and Yulisha was a bit delicate—or rather, it was a one-sided delicacy from Nagg. He held feelings akin to admiration for her, but unfortunately, Yulisha was not interested in him.
This was a conclusion Fia had drawn from her observations three days ago when Yulisha, Mizuki, and the others saw her off as she left Blossom.
Although she knew that the interpersonal relationships of any royal family were complicated, when it happened so close to her, Fia couldn’t help but lament how messy the noble circles truly were. From Nagg’s behavior throughout the journey, Fia could tell that he was a man of upright character; it was just a pity that he had fallen for someone he shouldn’t have.
As for why Nagg and the others were following her, the answer was simple. First, as representatives of the Elf Tower, they were to assist Fia in restoring the ley lines. Second, if Fia needed it, Nagg’s group would have to charge into battle for her, launching a surprise attack on the Cold Night Kingdom which bordered Count Yureidon’s territory.

“Hmm…? We’re here already?”
Feeling the swaying carriage come to a stop, Liti, who had been drowsing under a blanket, slowly opened her sleepy eyes. Besides Fia and Liti, Claire and Milu were also in the carriage. Anastasia was responsible for driving outside.
As for the carriage behind them, inside were Nagg and three other Sixth-Tier magic casters, as well as another maid who, along with Anastasia, was in charge of Fia’s daily needs. According to Yelido’s plan, Fia would be staying in Yureidon territory for an extended period, though Fia had no such intentions.
Fia nodded lightly.
“Yes, we’ll start restoring the ley lines from here. You and Liti stay in the carriage. I’ll be the only one getting out.”
“Okay~”
After receiving Liti’s obedient reply, Fia lifted the carriage curtain and stepped down with Anastasia’s hand—if it were just her and her companions, she would have simply jumped down. But the magic casters from the Elf Tower were here, so Fia had to display proper etiquette, such as needing a servant’s hand to alight from the carriage and keeping her legs together when sitting down.
Letting out a soft breath, Fia faced the distant hills and took out the magnificently styled Cloud Moon of the Illusory Sea. However, she didn’t immediately use magic but stood quietly on the withered grassland as if waiting for something.
Soon, the people she was waiting for appeared behind her. There were five of them in total. Besides Nagg and the maid from the Twilight Flower, there were three elderly-looking magic casters. Throughout the journey, Fia could feel a certain prejudice from these three old men towards her post-amnesia self. According to Nagg, they believed that the amnesiac her should be re-evaluated for the position of administrator of the Three Main Towers. Although Fia had no interest in that position, it didn’t stop her from wanting to get away from these three chattering old men as quickly as possible.
“Your Highness, the Eldest Princess, are you planning to start restoring the ley lines now? Shouldn’t you greet Count Yureidon first?” the youthful-looking Nagg came forward, a look of confusion and a wry smile on his face. “Restoring the ley lines is such a major undertaking. It would be better to meet with Lord Count Yureidon first before starting. With locals as guides, the restoration will also be faster.”

“No. Count Yureidon is in the city up ahead. I can see him just the same after I’ve restored the ley lines.”
If she went to see Count Yureidon first, it would surely begin with him hosting her warmly, inviting nobles from all over for a welcome banquet, and a series of other troublesome procedures. In that case, restoring the ley lines would have to be delayed until the next day. Then, after she restored them, the Count would hold a celebratory banquet, and she would have to exchange pleasantries with a whole crowd of nobles whose names she couldn’t remember and wouldn’t see again for the next few hundred years. Just thinking about it gave her a headache.
It was much easier to restore the ley lines first, then go and say hello to the Count, and finally, shake off Nagg and these three chattering old men and head straight for the Cold Night Kingdom with her companions.
It was worth noting that even after half a month, the weakness from [Overload] had not disappeared. This made Fia start to despise all unnecessary social activities, wanting only to eat, sleep, and play upon waking. 1 woaaa big nerf! wait… she just lazy!! excuseeee!!!!
Furthermore, Fia had recently discovered something else. Perhaps because she had injected too much magic into it when dealing with the Elf God, cracks had appeared on Laevateinn. Although it didn’t affect its use and was unnoticeable without close inspection, it still worried Fia. Putting aside its sentimental value, as a weapon capable of god-slaying, Fia didn’t want it to break just like that. She would have to find a craftsman skilled in forging magic weapons to repair it later.
“To restore such a vast land, who knows how long it will take. It would be better for Your Highness not to make such empty boasts. In my opinion, we should first find Lord Count Yureidon to ask for a detailed map of the vicinity, then, based on the extent of the damage to the ley lines, start by gradually restoring the vitality of the soil in the less damaged areas. Once reinforcements arrive, we can then tackle the more severely damaged places.”
“Indeed. To think of restoring tens of thousands of square kilometers of land with just a few of us is harder than ascending to the heavens.”
“We hope Your Highness will reconsider.”
The three elderly magic casters admonished Fia one after another in different tones. In response, Fia, with her back to them, simply waved her hand dismissively.
“I have my own ideas. You just do your job, which is to record everything carefully.”
“Your Highness, the Eldest Princess…”

The old magic caster had already adopted an earnest tone, but Fia had switched to an ‘in one ear and out the other’ mode. Magic casters held a high status in Silvar, which gave these old men the courage to advise her. The easiest way to shut them up was to display sufficient power.
Golden wings symbolizing [Flight] appeared on her back as Fia slowly ascended into the air, calling upon the information for [Rain of Serenity].
As a spell that was originally at the Sixth Tier, [Rain of Serenity], after being enhanced by [Hyper-computation], had become an ultra-wide-area support spell capable of covering over a thousand square kilometers. Fia had already witnessed its range in the Sea of Chaos, but unfortunately, due to the lack of soil there, she couldn’t see the direct effects with her own eyes.
I hope one use is enough to restore the nearby ley lines.
Praying inwardly, Fia raised the Cloud Moon of the Illusory Sea and, with the distant hills as the center, activated [Rain of Serenity].
Her magic began to drain rapidly.
Rumble.
Like the sound of boiling water, rolling thunder echoed across the cloudless sky. Immediately after, a pink brilliance lit up the tip of the Cloud Moon of the Illusory Sea, and beneath Fia’s feet, layer upon layer of profound, counter-clockwise rotating magic circles unfolded. These circles were initially only the size of a well, but in just a moment, as if injected with frenzied magic, they rapidly expanded into the distance, in the blink of an eye reaching a point where they stretched beyond the horizon, blotting out the sky.
Then, dark clouds began to gather. The roiling, ink-black clouds seemed to press down as if they would fall to the ground. The sky quickly turned pitch-black, so dark that one couldn’t see their hand in front of their face. The only light source in the entire world was the magic circles in the sky. However, the originally pink circles had now turned an ominous dark red. Coupled with Fia holding her staff high in the air, emitting a dazzling red light, the scene at first glance looked like the apocalypse, as if the earth would soon crack open and meteors would fall from the sky.
The surging tide of magic left the few magic casters below breathless. The terrifying pressure made even breathing extremely difficult.
In just a minute, a black wind carrying scraps of grass and sand began to race across the wasteland, followed by the constant echo of thunder. The air filled with a thick moisture and the fragrance of fresh grass. Their whipping robes seemed to warn them that they could be swept up by the wind at any moment, making them subconsciously hide by the carriages and grab onto something to steady themselves.

“Is she trying to destroy Yureidon territory…?”
“What in the world is this magic?”
“Your Highness, the Eldest Princess! Your Highness! Stop, quickly!”
The elderly magic casters, clinging to the carriage, shouted anxiously at the sky. However, the howling wind completely drowned out their voices. On Fia’s raised staff, a pink star as bright as the morning star had already condensed. The spell was complete. As Fia made the pink star rise, the yellowed, withered grass on the ground began to decay at an extremely fast rate, replaced by low-lying grasses that grew wildly underfoot, as if in a time-lapse.
This didn’t last long. When the pink star was completely submerged in the roiling dark clouds, accompanied by a cracking sound like shattering glass, a terrifying golden wave of magic instantly spread across the sky. The pitch-black clouds were instantly dyed a brilliant gold, followed by a fine rain of light descending from the heavens. The fine rain itself carried a star-like brilliance. When it landed on the body, it wasn’t cold at all, but instead brought waves of warmth and comfort.
Subsequently, the rampant growth of the vegetation gradually slowed down, but the natural aroma that filled the plains grew even richer. With just a single breath, the cells in one’s body felt as if they were reborn, and a seemingly endless vitality spread from the chest to the limbs. Even one’s senses become sharper; they could hear the sound of animals digging in the earth and the contented sighs of the plants as they were nourished. The entire world had transformed into a tapestry of green and gold.
Fia didn’t need to wait for the rain to stop to know that [Rain of Serenity] had restored the life of this land.
Although the mana cost was a bit high, almost on par with [Orbital Beacon Bombardment], considering this was to inject life into the land rather than a destructive spell, the consumption became quite worthwhile. The magic she spent would ultimately become the magic that flowed through this land. Thinking this way, Fia felt it would have been even better if [Rain of Serenity] could have used a bit more of her magic, since magic was the one thing she had in abundance.
To be able to restore over a thousand square kilometers of land in one go… If one didn’t consider the rule that a Forbidden spell must harm its caster, the enhanced [Rain of Serenity] could at least be ranked among the Ninth-Tier Forbidden spells.
Next, I should go and patch up the other areas. Realizing this, Fia glanced down at the magic casters below, who had become black dots. I hope the reactions of those old men won’t be too exaggerated, and that they can properly record what happened here.
