Chapter 22.1

Perhaps my message was well received, as Mikael went back to Tyros that very day. Of course, he had made me promise repeatedly that I would do my best to eat.

After that, with the combined efforts of several people, I quickly recovered over the next few days. The unpleasant blunt pain in my stomach disappeared, perhaps because the medicine worked.

I talked a lot with Celina.

When asked if the game was incomplete in the first place, and if the story had already been twisted as the person who was kidnapped changed, she said the path would work anyway, no matter where it went. While adding a plea to take good care of Mikael until the end.

But everyone had to be happy. Both in the novel and in the game. I wanted that.

With the events that happen, I can predict the way forward to some extent, but that wasn’t perfect either. It would have been relatively easy if it were the way I wrote it, but there was considerable dramatization in the game.

The overall setting and foundation were my novel, but two more storylines were newly selected by discussing it with other writers.

Fortunately, the memories Celina forcefully passed on to me added considerable ease to my life. It was truly amazing how the nobles’ faces and information spread like a web inside my head.

But the problem was that I was still trapped in my room, no matter what the direction or information was. How was the timing going to work out if I was prohibited from going out like this just before meeting someone from the imperial palace again?

No, before that. I was extremely angry at this society, where the act of imprisoning a person like this was tolerated. Even though I made it, it was the worst.

「There’s still time until the ceremony, and Celina is good at everything, so I don’t have to worry about anything.

However, I am worried that I might make a mistake, so I decided to visit the temple.

I might as well schedule a practice date next week! Until then, Celina should focus only on recovering. See you in good health, okay? 」

Cutely, I could see a smiling face halfway through it. I pushed the long letter from the princess aside and unfolded the scented paper that felt expensive.

The clean surface looked really nice, but unfortunately, I had to start filling it with writing.

This was insane. What a noble lady I was. Ever since I wrote this damn novel, I never thought I would again be in a situation where my future was dark.

[You can’t do this!]

I grabbed the lid of my fountain pen and tried to pull it out with my teeth like I usually do when I use my pen, but I paused for a moment. Habits were scary.

I lowered the writing utensil that had gone near my face as naturally as possible, then quietly opened the lid with my hands. Then, I began to write my response, unwillingly.

It was the first time I was writing after being trapped in this place, but curiously, the handwriting wasn’t what I used to have. Celina’s handwriting was pretty and elegant, just like herself.

Since Ingrit was someone I was comfortable with, the contents flowed smoothly. I concluded the letter by thanking her for her concern, saying that I was all better now. Ian skillfully rolled up the letter and put it into a long, thin container.

I had just taken one step in the procession of replies. I sighed deeply and picked up my next assignment.

The next letter was sealed with a crest with a mysterious blend of red and pink. The knife tangled between rose vines symbolized the Goneril family.

The content was so concise that it was annoying.

「Miss Celina Dell.

I’m writing this letter myself because I heard that the big Miss Dell went through big trouble. You know it’s a rare opportunity to receive a letter directly from me, right? If single people in the social world knew about this, it might break their hearts!

Please tell the young Miss Dell and the even younger Miss Dell that I am personally asking about their regards.

Then, I will see you at the Princess’ coming-of-age ceremony.

Bye. 」

“Gosh, this crazy guy.”

The thought went out of my mouth. Ian’s hand stopped rubbing the leather cylinder with his handkerchief.

[Please. Please keep your dignity in everything.]

Celina scolded me.

“I made a mistake just now, Ian. Just pretend you didn’t hear anything.”

I said calmly.

“Yes. I didn’t hear anything.”

Ian responded without hesitation and resumed doing what he was doing. I flicked my fountain pen meaninglessly in the air.

Grand Duke Samuel Goneril was a narcissist. He had been intoxicated by his beauty all his life, so when he sees Mikael for the first time, he feels a sense of ‘beautiful’ towards someone other than himself.

If he couldn’t become his, he would rather ruin him so much that no one could have him. He was a person who annoyed the people around him because he had a high tendency to have a yandere temperament.

So, his route should never happen.
