Chapter 24.2
Chapter 24.2
“He has already been scolded enough because of me…”
“He won’t be scolded.”
“Really?”
“Of course. So you don’t have to talk about Ian anymore.”
“Then promise me.”
I held out my pinky to him.
“I promise.”
Mikael locked his finger with mine.
“Then will you go with me now?”
“Yeah.”
I had a lot of questions, but I decided to ask them later. He held me by my waist, placing me on the windowsill, and glanced outside.
“Can I just go?”
“Yes. You won’t fall.”
I hesitated for a moment, then took a step into the air.
“What are you going to do now?”
“I’m not sure. I didn’t think about that. I just came to see you.”
Mikael made eye contact with me. The moment his lips made a gentle curve, the darkened sky instantly turned blue.
I quickly raised my chin. Before I knew it, the moon had disappeared, and the sun was showing off its power.
“Hey, Mikael. How did this…?”
“Hello, Master.”
He said a greeting with a smiling face, clasping hands with me.
“You’re here sooner than I thought. Have you been keeping an eye on her? You’re really boring.”
Mikael’s question was peaceful.
“What are you doing right now?”
Elijah was crossing his arms at a distance.
“Ah. This? I was on a mission to take the beautiful princess trapped in the tower out for a walk.”
The protagonist’s hair fluttered beautifully, following the wind. His confident expression overflowed with relaxation.
“Without my permission?”
As Elijah said coldly, the airflow changed instantly. Lightning flashed in the sky, and soon, a deafening roar rang.
After a few seconds, rain started pouring violently. My body hunched at the prickling sensation.
“Master. What if Celina gets a cold? She has barely recovered.”
As Mikael criticized, the droplets began to evade my body.
“Celina.”
Elijah swept back his untied hair.
“Come here quickly.”
“I don’t want to.”
I shook my head and locked arms with Mikael, getting closer to him. He looked at me a little surprised, but this was an unavoidable choice.
Having to keep floating like this was making me feel anxious. I had to hold onto something.
“Master, why have you been keeping Celina confined for so long? She’s having a hard time.”
Mikael asked seriously.
“Because she tried to drown on purpose to die.”
“… What?”
At the same time, I felt Mikael’s body stiffen. He turned his head stiffly and started staring at me. I began to feel guilty while looking into those eyes.
“No. Ahem. It’s not like that.”
I stuttered. I was stuck in a very difficult situation.
“That… I just slipped by mistake.”
“You sound very trustworthy.”
Elijah let out in a mocking tone. Hey, hey! Why is that jerk making things worse?! I glared at him.
‘Celina. What should I do?’
[Maybe you should just be honest. I think it will be okay for some reason.]
‘Are you crazy? How can I do that?!’
[No one believes you now anyway. No matter what you say, it won’t matter. So just be confident.]
Ah, shit. Seriously. Anyway, it would be better to listen to someone smarter than me. My courage would only be treated as ridiculous recklessness here.
“That’s right. I was trying to die. So?”
Mikael’s pretty eyes shook as I said those shameless words. I intentionally held onto him more tightly.
“Why?”
Elijah asked back.
“I was suddenly skeptical about life.”
“What the hell are you lacking?”
The archmage looked genuinely confused.
“Nothing. It’s nothing like that.”
I answered firmly. I don’t know if it’s because Celina had no emotions since she was born, or if it was because of Elijah’s stern and cold education.
It was Mikael who scattered paint so that her life, which had been colorless, could be colorfully pulsating.
More precisely, it was ‘I’, the person who created Mikael.
“Anyway, it won’t happen anymore. I promise. Father.”
I knew it wouldn’t work anyway. I swallowed that word.
“So, please end this bizarre confrontation quickly.”
The rain was still pouring. I wasn’t wet thanks to Mikael, but it was quite unpleasant, nonetheless.
“Oh my. What should I do if you attack me seriously?”
Then, in the blink of an eye, something happened. I grasped the situation a moment too late.
We were right in front of the window until just now, but that window now looked as small as a dot in the distance.
Mikael was blocking three or four sharp pieces of shrapnel, which seemed to be something between glass and ice, in one hand, and holding me in the other.
Ah! This tiresome and cringe-worthy princess pose!
“Seriously? If I were serious, both of you would have been pierced and fallen into the lake. With your guts flowing out.”
Elijah walked leisurely towards us, saying something savage as if it was nothing. The scenery under his feet was unbelievably beautiful.
