Chapter 25.2

“Honestly, this is foul play, Master. You’re too much.”

On the other side, Mikael complained. There was blood flowing down his perfectly shaped nose. His clothes, of course, were messy. He sniffled once and wiped the blood with the back of his hand.

The moment I tried to open my mouth because I felt sorry for his injury, an ominous feeling slowly spread inside me.

“Foul play? I’ve talked to you many times about the importance of ‘focus’.”

Elijah’s voice was mixed with subtle enjoyment.

“Mikael. If I was a real enemy, were you going to be chatting leisurely as you were just now?”

“Excuse me.”

I hurriedly cut in between them. Regardless of who the main character was protecting.

“I think I’m going to throw up…”

Ugh, I hurriedly shut my mouth. The world began to look like the inside of a kaleidoscope, and the earth and sky mixed disorderly. Everyone here, including me, was forgetting for a moment.

The fact that this body was weak.

Blergh.

“You’ve been through a lot recently.”

Ian said in a sorrowful voice. Fortunately, he was fine, as Mikael had promised.

“Tell me about it…”

I could only look up at the ceiling blankly, as my whole body was exhausted. As soon as I said I was going to throw up, Elijah quickly moved inside the castle.

It was certainly a happy ending, but he must have moved not because he was worried about his daughter, but because he was afraid his expensive and good clothes would get dirty.

It’s a relief I didn’t throw up on the spot. It was unbelievably hard to hold it back.

“You have to drink that and sleep.”

Ian pulled me up gently. The medicine he prepared for me had no taste, like water.

“What about Mikael?”

But surprisingly, the effect was immediate. My body regained its strength instantly. I handed Ian the empty bottle that looked like a volumetric flask used in laboratories.

“He has been waiting outside. Shall I send him back?”

“No. Bring him here.”

In fact, the look on Mikael’s face earlier was weighing on my mind. I was curious about what Elijah had said, so whatever it was, I thought it would be better to settle it right away.

“But you should rest a little longer…”

“Quickly. I have something urgent to say.”

“… I understand.”

He reluctantly went out to bring Mikael. Before I knew it, outside the window was dark again. It was exactly what I saw before the fight between the two.

Not long after, the door opened. Ian tactfully left the room. I waved my hand like Mikael had done to me before.

He contorted his face like he was going to cry at any moment, then walked towards me with big strides.

“I’m really sorry.”

And then, he kneeled next to the bed. I was not at all surprised by his behavior. Because frankly, both this guy and that guy were in the wrong. For the record, ‘this guy’ is Mikael, and ‘that guy’ is Elijah.

This guy should have put down the weak Celina before fighting, and that guy should have told him to put down the weak Celina before fighting.

Of course, I knew it wasn’t easy to do that. First of all, Mikael came forward with good intentions, and Elijah was the one who suddenly appeared and attacked without saying anything.

They probably didn’t know things would go this far. Battles between wizards are usually fierce.

And what was worse, I knew very well that they were fighting modestly today. I even opened my eyes and looked around in the middle of that chaos.

But I didn’t feel good at all. I felt like a weak bystander who was hurt amid a fight between the strong.

“I’m fine now. I took medicine too. Get up quickly.”

He hesitated for a moment at my words, but kept his posture.

“Do you want to ask me anything?”

If he wanted to stay like that, I didn’t intend to stop him.

“Why did you make such an extreme attempt?”

He raised his head as he said those words. His eyes looked very sad.

“… Because I want to live.”

I spat out the most contradictory words. But it was true. I did it because I wanted to live. Though I didn’t know it would end in a simple struggle.

“But I won’t do that anymore. It was just an impulse.”

“So, what should I do?”

“Huh?”

“What on earth should I do for you not to think like that?”

He approached me, crawling, and rested his forehead on my knees.

If this wasn’t a dream, then it meant that everything this man did to me was not a desire that arose from my subconscious.

“I was finally able to meet you, but if you keep trying to do that… I’m a bit…”

Mikael spoke vaguely and clenched my pajamas.

“I really don’t intend to do that anymore. Can’t you trust me?”

I stroked his head lightly as if to soothe him. I wasn’t a character that he had this level of attachment to, so what made him like this? Being like this in the affectionate letters he exchanged with Celina was enough.

“Excuse me. You know.”

I sighed and spoke impulsively.
