Chapter 27.1

“If you remove this annoying hand right now, I’ll be willing to talk to you.”

I said unpleasantly. Elizabeth made a sound similar to clicking her tongue and reluctantly withdrew her hand.

“But why do you keep looking at magic books?”

“Why? Can’t someone like me look at them? Will they get worn out?”

“Who said that?”

“If you’re here to laugh at my circumstances, get out of here. I don’t want to argue with you right now.”

I glanced at her and lowered my head again. The reason why I could continue to behave this way in this castle was simple.

Celina got quite annoyed with her brothers and sisters. As Ian had said before, it was after the appearance of Mikael.

So, since I was trapped in this body, even if I acted according to my feelings, it didn’t seem very strange. I felt like a puppet on an overly well-organized board. Something was uncomfortable.

“Seriously, the more I look at you, the worse your personality is!”

Elizabeth shouted in an outrageous voice.

“You have no conscience. I don’t think that’s what you want to say, Elizabeth.”

“Ah, really!”

“Did you come to pick a fight because you’re bored? If so, you might want to look elsewhere.”

I shook my hand like I was chasing an annoying fly.

“I told you. I’m here because I have something to say. By the way, I was wondering since earlier. What is that cat?”

Elizabeth pointed at the cat, who was stretched narrowly at the end of the desk, resting.

“Father sent her. For your information, I also saw her for the first time this morning.”

“Wow! It’s so cute!”

She uttered something like a scream or a cheer, and then began to approach the cat gently.

“Her name is Cola.”

“… Sister, really. That’s not cool.”

Then, she stopped for a moment and gave me a serious look.

“Seriously. If it weren’t for your face, you would have suffered natural selection already.”

“Natural selection? What’s with that choice of words? What’s wrong with Cola? It’s just cute.”

I was angry.

“This child. Is it a female or a male?”

“She looked like a female when I flipped her over.”

“Is that so? Luna, who didn’t come to an uncool woman but to my pretty sister.”

Elizabeth reinvented the name and reached out to Cola. I quietly clicked my tongue and observed the situation.

Just before her hand reached her, Cola puffed up her fur, opened her mouth, and hissed at her. Then, she walked haughtily towards me and sat quietly on my lap.

“Pfft.”

I laughed openly.

“You seem to like Luna alright.”

I had no intention of touching her, but my hands reflexively went down. Cola’s long fur was much softer than I thought. Fortunately, the cat stretched into a similar position as before, as if she didn’t hate my touch.

Good for you. People love you even if all you do is eat, sleep, and poop. I have so much to do.

“She’s rude, just like her owner.”

Elizabeth grunted.

“If you became her owner, she would be even more rude.”

“In any case! Talk to me for a moment!”

“Go ahead. You can do it. I don’t know what you want to talk about, but hurry up and leave.”

“I mean. Here is a little…”

She glanced at Ian.

“We don’t have the kind of relationship to have secret conversations, do we?”

“Do you think I want to talk to you face to face? I’ll get out of here quickly, so let’s move to a quiet place.”

Elizabeth said sharply. She really left it up to me. Gosh. I quietly closed the book.

It was not an exaggeration to say that Celina’s aerial garden was the essence of magic in this world. Personally, it was my favorite place. I visited it even though I didn’t need a quest order, just to see the scenery.

Land and water that went against a set direction, hundreds of plants that didn’t care about seasons, and an independent climate that didn’t go along with nature’s providence. All of this was created by Elijah with great care, for his precious daughter.

On the outside, of course. In fact, it was safe to say that it was a well-constructed prison.

Actually, I didn’t feel like coming after I was notified of that unilaterally by Celina. But seeing it with my own eyes, it was a really beautiful place.

Floating in the middle of the high sky and drawing a huge circle, her garden was surrounded by layers like an onion peel. The place I was standing right now was the corridor that led to the main entrance, so I had to walk a little to get inside.

Fruit and fresh grass were gathered together, and there was a sweet scent of freshly cut grass, that seemed to have been carefully mashed, coming thickly from everywhere. Even the wind was sweet.

I took a deep breath and walked.

“Why did you bring me here voluntarily? You don’t like it when other people come.”

Elizabeth asked, sullen, while keeping an eye on the enormous waterfall she saw in the distance, where iridescent water was flowing.

“It must be time to die.”

“What? What are you saying, when you’re the one who came back alive even though you were kidnapped.”

Elizabeth feigned a smile with a ridiculous expression. I took her to the outskirts of the garden without a word.

Since it had all kinds of furniture, it was the perfect place to have a chat. Even when guests came, they usually only stayed here.
