Chapter 29.1
Chapter 29.1
“Are you okay?”
Mikael asked in a loud voice. I’m not okay! Unable to answer, I fell to the floor with my eyes closed. The twinkling stars slowly disappeared, and unknown shapes of different colors began to float through my eyes.
“Celina, will you look at me?”
Mikael continued asking how I was feeling, with a nervous voice. However, for this moment, that kindness was a bit annoying, so I just shook my hand and expressed my intention of refusing.
I don’t know how long I was in that position. After a long while, I slowly opened my eyes. There was still some shock, so there were mottled colors all over my field of view, like mold.
As I kept closing and opening my eyes to get rid of it, I noticed Mikael had a worried look on his face. Bloody lips also included.
“… Hey, wait a minute. You.”
I reached out my hand, narrowing the distance. Mikael showed me his face without saying anything. I pressed his cheek tightly to open his mouth and examined the inside. His tongue was in the same state as his lips.
“You bit your tongue when we bumped into each other earlier.”
“Yes.”
“It must hurt. Sorry. I was making a fuss on my own.”
He frowned.
“You know.”
“Hm?”
“I hope you won’t apologize to me from now on.”
Mikael said in a low voice.
“Why?”
“You don’t have to do that to me. Just stay there.”
“… Alright. I got it.”
It was a strange thing to say. I replied awkwardly.
“Anyway, if you’re hurt, you should show it. I didn’t know.”
“Do you want me to tell you?”
“Of course.”
“What do you think?
He asked a sudden question.
“What do I think? About what?”
“If I get hurt.”
“Of course, I get worried.”
I answered in a tone that seemed to ask what he was saying.
“Hm…”
Mikael pondered for a moment, then grinned.
“I see. I got it. Then I will do so from now on.”
“At any rate, I was the one making a fuss over nothing.”
While the one who did wrong was grumbling for no reason, my gaze naturally got tangled with Mikael’s. I was, of course, caught by that gaze.
The evening glow was in full bloom in the clear sky. There was a warm scarlet light scattered all over the place.
Very slowly, his gaze slid down towards my lips. Because of that, I also looked at his lips. There was not a single part that wasn’t beautiful.
“…”
“…”
There was a strange atmosphere hovering in the air. I felt my eyes tremble. His red earring fluttered slightly as if to entice me.
I could feel the distance slowly narrowing. I didn’t know which one of us was moving.
But at that moment, I shook my head quickly as if chasing away a bug and stepped back. I didn’t forget to change the topic.
“By the way. I was definitely outside.”
Dear heavens. I almost kissed him. I need to get a grip.
Mikael’s set point, ‘a charm that arouses one’s desire’, was showing off its blatant sense of volume. It wasn’t uncommon for the target characters to be mesmerized either.
“When did you bring me here?”
The place where Mikael and I were right now seemed to be a place the believers could use as a lounge. There was a stone table, a wooden sofa, and a small bookshelf with a few books and a bottle of tea leaves.
“You were fast asleep, so I brought you here. I already transported the two of them, so you don’t have to worry.”
He too replied as if nothing had happened, as I did.
“I couldn’t send them off. What should I do?”
“Everyone told me not to wake you up. You have a weak body, so you should rest whenever you can.”
I saw a bowl full of black water at his feet. Noticing, he spoke.
“I put in a separate request on my way here and got some of these flowers. There is nothing like this to quickly clean the sacred herb juice. Since it’s a medicinal herb that is only handled in temples, it’s not easy to prepare it.”
He put the bowl on the table. Then, he dipped his handkerchief slightly inside it.
“I’ll finish cleaning it off. And then we’ll leave. Will you sit here for a moment?”
At his words, I looked down at my hands. The color, which clearly tinged my hands as if boasting of its existence, had disappeared to some extent. So, he was cleaning it while I was asleep. Thankfully.
“Then, please.”
I yawned and held out my hand. With a cautious movement, he began to wipe away the traces of the herbs again.
“How is your work going?”
I secretly asked how things were going.
“Many people have helped me so much that it is going well.”
“Is Tyros getting any better?”
There were only a few who could freely enter and exit the now completely sealed-off area. Because of the contagion, of course.
