Chapter 31.2
Chapter 31.2
“Still, I want to do that.”
Taking a boat to the city, and from there, moving back to the capital. And taking off my winter clothes and changing into light clothing, was what I had to do from this moment on. There was a reason for choosing this inconvenience.
I was so curious about the outside world that I couldn’t help it. And most importantly, I was feeling pretty good today.
“Yes. Let’s do that. Please let me know if you are having a hard time. I’ll take care of it right away.”
There was a bright energy in his expression. The slightly raised corners of his mouth revealed how he was feeling right now. He must have been as excited as I was. No wonder, he had also been very busy these days.
“Yeah, alright.”
I couldn’t help but start humming as I hadn’t been out for a long time. I felt a little sorry for myself, but I just wanted to enjoy this moment.
“Then, please take good care of me today.”
Mikael gently grabbed my hand and bowed deeply.
“Hm. Well. You know. You don’t have to do this. Can’t you just treat me like a friend?”
“A friend?”
He tilted his head, as if he had heard a vague word.
“Yeah. A friend.”
“I already thought of Celina as a friend. Was it my misunderstanding?”
Mikael’s face hardened. He must have misunderstood. I quickly shook my hands.
“I didn’t mean that. Of course, we’re already friends. What I meant was that you didn’t have to treat me so politely as you just did. Since we’re friends.”
“But I have no intention to stand on an equal footing. I’m lower, and you are higher.”
“Why does it have to be so extreme?”
I muttered, puzzled. For reference, wasn’t he higher than me right now? I was looking up at him, and he was looking down at me.
“Please. I hope you will respect my decision.”
“Alright. If that is what you want.”
I agreed right away.
I had no intention to force him if he was opposing it. Although he was docile, he was sharp and adamant about his actions, so there was nothing to gain from saying anything more in this situation.
Right? Thinking about it from his perspective, how could he be completely comfortable when there was clearly a difference in classes here?
“Alright. Let’s go quickly.”
I nodded and walked towards the dock. Mikael quickly followed and started glancing at me.
“Why do you keep looking at me like that?”
My cheeks were starting to get very hot.
“You must be upset. I apologize. I’m not saying I don’t want to be comfortable with Celina, but I thought it would be better to keep what should be kept…”
“I’m not upset. So, you don’t have to be so self-conscious. I was thoughtless. I’m not forcing you to do that.”
I jokingly patted him on the shoulder.
“No. It’s impossible for you to be thoughtless.”
“Hm? It can happen.”
“No.”
His tone was firm.
“How can that be? I’m a human too.”
I responded reluctantly. I was a little taken aback. Because Mikael shouldn’t worship anyone. He was a man who deserved worship.
He just smiled beautifully. That again. The smile that made a person feel helplessly compelled. Yeah, what was I supposed to do?
It was him, not anyone else.
“Have you ever been on a boat?”
“Never. I didn’t really have to. It’s my first time today, thanks to Celina.”
“I thought so, too.”
Swoosh― The sound of the branches hitting each other in the wind spread far and wide. It sounded like a wave. Surprisingly, it wasn’t hot even though I was wearing a bunch of clothes.
We walked without saying a word and quickly arrived at our destination.
“But do you know how to row a boat? I don’t know how to do that.”
I stared vaguely at the boat’s heavy oars, which stood still on the river without being tied by a single rope.
“There’s no need to row. It can move with just the wind.”
“Among the people in the castle, isn’t… Father the only one who can control the wind? He’s not here right now.”
If I was going to live inside Celina’s body for the time being, I had to get used to that word. But calling Elijah ‘father’ was still strange to me.
Of course, it came out fluently most of the time, but sometimes, his name got stuck in my throat first and I hesitated for a moment.
“Theoretically, Master is the only one who can do it. But I can do it too.”
Mikael jumped on the boat. Then he reached out his hand to me.
Now that I had gotten used to this kind of support, I naturally got on board with his help. As soon as I sat down, the bow of the boat slowly turned, and it began to move.
“Oh, wow.”
I unconsciously let out my admiration. The protagonist was spectacular. He had already gotten this strong.
