Chapter 154: The Beginning Comes True

Chapter 154: The Beginning Comes True

“It’s done. You can do whatever you want next. You’ll run into him soon enough.” Dan Marina took out a pair of silk gloves and put them on her hands. She said somewhat weakly, “Don’t come looking for me for anything from now on.”

Regarding her departure, the Sanctuary Church had no intention of stopping her. At this moment, anyone who got too close to her would be affected. Stopping her? Only if they were tired of living.

As Dan Marina left, the corners of her mouth curved up slightly. The price she paid this time was indeed real… but compared to what she was about to gain… it was worth it.

“Separate now?” In the Forbidden Zone, Zheng Yichen looked at Loris worriedly. When she suggested they should part ways for now, Zheng Yichen felt conflicted. Loris was still in her weak period, right? With her power itself being so low, separating like this was worrying. He was afraid something might happen.

“Mn. I need to take back my power,” Loris said.

“Huh? Take back?” Zheng Yichen asked in confusion. “Didn’t all your power scatter?”

“…Did you think I did nothing for the past six months?” Loris glanced back at Zheng Yichen calmly, making him involuntarily scratch his head. Did it seem like he had messed things up?

“Can’t we just go together then?”

“There will be trouble. The power of prophecy won’t be very effective here for now,” Loris said. The moment she returned to normal, she recognized where they were. Though she didn’t know how Zheng Yichen learned about this place, it truly was an excellent hiding spot!

“Really quite worrying,” Zheng Yichen muttered, scratching his head with a troubled look as he watched Loris leave. Wait, didn’t she not know the way out of here? Realizing this problem, Zheng Yichen hurriedly chased after her. But just that slight delay was enough—she was already gone without a trace.

“My goodness? How can someone with two short little legs run so fast?!” After some effort leaving the Forbidden Zone, Zheng Yichen flew up and looked around. He still couldn’t see any sign of Loris, but he found some traces near the Forbidden Zone, at least confirming she had left successfully.

“Well, should I go back then?” With that thought, Zheng Yichen was just about to turn back when a sudden pain shot through the back of his head. A wisp of green smoke rose from the spot. Looking back, Zheng Yichen saw a small team. One of them looked somewhat familiar—it was the black-clothed man who could cast curses, whom he had encountered back in the Black Mist, and whose curse he had reflected right back into his face.

Meeting again like this was too much of a coincidence, wasn’t it? Zheng Yichen stared at them in shock. They looked back at him with a similar reaction, though Zheng Yichen was astonished and felt unlucky, while they were pleasantly surprised.

Without a second thought, he turned and dashed back into the Forbidden Zone behind him. But these people reacted faster. The moment Zheng Yichen moved, an invisible barrier blocked his path. However, he shattered that barrier quickly. Yet, that tiny bit of hindrance was enough for them to catch up in time.

“Foes always cross paths, huh?”

“Yeah, but I quite like that phrase of yours,” the black-clothed man sneered, staring coldly at Zheng Yichen. Back then, that clump of Curse Power that Zheng Yichen reflected back was something even he, skilled in curses, couldn’t dispel immediately. It had taken him several days afterward to completely shake off the effects, and it had become a laughingstock for a while.

He held quite a grudge against Zheng Yichen for that. But because this guy was too good at hiding, he never found an opportunity to get revenge. Who would have thought he’d run into Zheng Yichen here of all places? They had come here because a branch of The Church had discovered a map—a map related to the Forbidden Zone.

Regarding the Forbidden Zone, almost everyone besides ordinary people knew about it, but very few dared to come. Even the edge areas weren’t accessible to just anyone. Though there were many entrances to the edge areas, most were controlled by major powers and unknown to average people. While the Forbidden Zone was filled with all sorts of dangers, it also held great opportunities. Some nobodies had gotten lucky, taken a trip through the Forbidden Zone, obtained some kind of fortuitous encounter, and soared to heights, achieving what others could not.

So after getting this map, they immediately formed a team and came here to verify its authenticity. However, before verifying it, they had the even greater luck of running into Zheng Yichen! According to The Church’s analysis, even if the Witch he took away returned to normal, she would have a long period of weakness. That period was the best time to control a Witch.

A dragon who could ignore both Witch Power and even the Sanctuary Church’s secret methods, and a weak, easily controllable Witch—it was beyond attractive!

“With just you guys? You think you can catch us?” Zheng Yichen snorted lightly, lifting his chin to give the black-clothed man and the others a look of disdain. “You should know that I am—”

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

A huge mass of Magic Arms came flying out of the Magic Weapon Summoning Book. Under their dumbfounded stares, they were literally buried by the Magic Arms. Each of these Magic Arms was troublesome. Taken by surprise, they were all caught off guard. By the time they freed themselves from the barrage of Magic Arms, all they saw was Zheng Yichen’s distant, taunting back. They had all seen this dragon’s speed before; at this distance, catching up was basically impossible. Not to mention he was now flying while also strapping on the Propulsion Device he had used during the Witch Hunt.

“That damned dragon!” The black-clothed man stared gloomily at his retreating figure. Not only were his abilities unconventional, but so were his actions. Who would have thought this dragon would suddenly attack while they were still talking? Though there was also an element of their own carelessness. Their numbers weren’t large, but each one was a powerhouse; otherwise, they wouldn’t be qualified to explore the Forbidden Zone.

Even if this Little Dragon was a bit special, facing them head-on should have ended with him captured. But who could have imagined this Little Dragon would be so shameless.

“Really, why did I suddenly get so unlucky?” Zheng Yichen muttered to himself, scratching his cheek after attaching the Propulsion Devices to his wings for a boost. There was definitely no going back now. These people definitely hadn’t come to such a dangerous area for no reason. Going back would likely mean running right into them. Once they were on guard, he probably wouldn’t be able to get away so smoothly next time.

“The Witch Restricted Zone had an incident,” the young girl who had just returned from where Dan Marina had performed the Arcane Arts received a message. People from the Sanctuary Church had found something that shouldn’t be there in the Witch Restricted Zone. It was probably some backup preparations the Witch had made to deal with the Witch Hunt. However, since the person was ultimately taken away by Zheng Yichen, those preparations were never triggered.

But since they were things left behind by a Witch, they needed to be dealt with once discovered…
