Volume 3, Chapter 63 – Rare Peace
God-Descent Calisthenics was a body-forging technique Bai Xiang had gained from the memories of the Augu God-Warrior “Elend.” Used together with the Vacuum Meditation Method and the Illusory-Spirit Breathing Method , as well as the refined “Augu potion,” anyone would have the chance to comprehensively strengthen their body.
The Vacuum Meditation Method was meant to suppress rampages. Bai Xiang didn’t have that hidden danger. All she had to do was take the Augu potion and switch to the breathing pattern of the Illusory-Spirit Breathing Method while cultivating God-Descent Calisthenics .
Dr. Hannah had already analyzed the components of the Augu potion. She’d said that stuff was essentially a super-strong stimulant. Take too much and there would be side effects, possibly including rejection reactions like muscle dissolution.
Bai Xiang wasn’t afraid of those side effects either. She swallowed the medicine in advance, then sat upright in midair in front of her little sister, and, right before her eyes, took out an ornate fountain pen.
The fountain pen was actually the true form of a Demon Pool. Any love letter written with its red ink—so long as the other party read it through completely—would make that person fall in love with the letter’s writer, utterly and without reservation, within twenty-four hours.
It didn’t sound like much, just a twenty-four-hour effect. But one had to know that “utterly unreserved love” made it very easy to trigger mating behavior.
If the two parties engaged in sexual intercourse during that period, their life force and essence blood would be continuously drawn out in the process, until they were left embracing each other as dried corpses and skeletons. The sight was utterly horrifying.
That was more or less where the so-called “red ink” came from.
So of course it was pure evil. Bai Xiang simply used the drug-boosted strength of her body to crush it into a mass of blood-red photons, then used Feixiang Heaven to absorb them all.
This was her compromise—properly cultivating God-Descent Calisthenics called for all sorts of supporting apparatus. She didn’t have the conditions for that, so the step of drawing the Demon Pool into the body could only be done this way.
Feixiang Heaven counted as an extension of herself. With her hand wrapped around its hilt, the Demon Pool photons were drawn into Bai Xiang’s body along with the sword.
The photons were restless, crashing around in all directions.
Bai Xiang didn’t use her soul ability to suppress them. Instead, she turned her body to the side, stretched her toes back and down, and struck a very flexibility-intensive pose, similar to a yoga position.
At the same time, her high, raised chest rose and fell under the gauze. Following the steps taught by the Illusory-Spirit Breathing Method , she generated an internal vibration.
The effect really was obvious. Under the combined influence of the potion, movement, and vibration, the photons broke down into many shattered points, which followed the guidance of her motions and flowed into the joints of her four limbs—especially concentrating on strengthening the tips of her hands and feet.
This strengthening wasn’t obvious to Bai Xiang in that moment, but she still felt invigorated, because it meant the idea was workable. It meant she’d found a more efficient way to convert energy.

Turning formless, intangible Demon Pools into grippable, physical strength—up till now, she’d only been able to do it by slashing with her sword, and once she’d formed a Core, her absorption efficiency had become not worth mentioning.
At least now there was improvement. Naturally, Bai Xiang was pleased.
But her lovestruck little sister was in agony.
Each of the eighteen sets of movements in God-Descent Calisthenics came with a natural charm when performed by her. Not to mention that the Illusory-Spirit Breathing Method would also occasionally trigger “tremors.”
To say Bai Zhuqing was stunned didn’t begin to cover it. She was utterly, completely stunned.
Don’t embarrass yourself, don’t embarrass yourself, don’t embarrass yourself, don’t embarrass yourself!
She kept trying to hypnotize herself, warn herself, even snap herself back to her senses.
But all of it was useless in the face of Bai Xiang running through those calisthenics moves one by one. Bai Zhuqing very quickly sank entirely into the beautiful scene before her, nearly forgetting who she was.
By the end of the second day’s cultivation, Bai Xiang’s gains were substantial, while Bai Zhuqing’s strength had regressed even more.
The harsh punishment arrived on schedule. This time, the girl simply fainted dead away in the middle of the tremors.
Then came the third day, the fourth day…
Bai Zhuqing finally understood. Bai Xiang really hadn’t been trying to reward her. She genuinely meant to train her into a totally frigid block of ice.
She wanted to refuse… never mind that she had zero desire to become that kind of person, the process itself was far too painful.
But it was no use.
No matter how she reflected before falling asleep at night or after waking in the morning, no matter how firmly she resolved herself, the moment Bai Xiang sat down in front of her, all her determination would crumble to dust.
It was pure bullying.

On the fourth day, Bai Zhuqing really couldn’t take it anymore. She threw away ethics and morality, tossed aside the rules of propriety, and hid by the door hoping to ambush Bai Xiang, planning to vent all her pent-up frustration on her.
However, because the difference in their strength was just too great, not only did she get countered and shaken up instead, she was also ordered to perform those cultivation movements together with Bai Xiang, which hurt so much she was baring her teeth.
So that’s how you want to play it, huh?
Bai Zhuqing’s understanding of Bai Xiang was broken and remolded over and over, until by the end she was holding a knot of pent-up resentment in her heart.
Stupid big sister, stupid aunt… just you wait till I get a chance!
I’ll…
I’ll definitely make you suffer till you want to die!
Then Bai Xiang changed styles.
She went back to her normal clothes and also finished her cultivation of God-Descent Calisthenics, turning to study the Sun-Chasing Scripture .
Bai Zhuqing let out a huge breath of relief, thinking that these days of reward mixed with torment had finally come to an end.
But once she sat down and looked carefully at Bai Xiang, she realized she would unconsciously strip the clothes off her in her mind.
This is bad.
Was it because she’d been thinking too much over the past couple of days?
“Don’t move your eyes off me.” Bai Xiang kept her eyes closed, yet seemed to know exactly what was happening outside.
“I’m not asking you to abandon your humanity. I’m giving your heart a lock.”

“So you can control that kind of feeling and pull it back when it’s time.”
Sounds nice, doesn’t it…
Bai Zhuqing curled her lip.
You have no idea how good you look.
And so, the days passed one by one. Bai Zhuqing gradually managed to calmly cultivate while staring at Bai Xiang.
Her reward was that after each day’s cultivation, she got to massage her sister’s feet. This in turn greatly boosted her enthusiasm for cultivation.
Another week went by, and Bai Zhuqing had practiced the Clear-Heart Formula to complete fluency.
Even if Bai Xiang suddenly switched to cultivating God-Descent Calisthenics midway, she could still steady her mind without showing anything.
Good.
Bai Xiang was satisfied with her progress.
After this round of special training, her little sister’s resistance to Illusory God abilities had unquestionably improved by a huge margin.
The reason Bai Xiang had chosen this method to train her was partly due to a faint guilt after her ruthlessness, and partly because she suspected the ancient demon Shiling actually wasn’t dead.
After all, she had never received Shiling’s soul, nor inherited any of its memories.
In that case, she had to factor in the possibility that one day in the future, Shiling would make a comeback.
So this special training was absolutely necessary.
“Don’t forget the movements I taught you.”

That night, Bai Zhuqing lay naked on her stomach on the bed, gasping in pain as Bai Xiang pressed several acupoints on her body, loosening her meridians and activating her blood flow.
“It’s exactly because of practicing those movements that I ended up like this…” she muttered aggrievedly. “It hurts so much… what’s the point?”
“This is my improved body-forging art.” Bai Xiang took out a medicinal ointment and applied it to her. “It’s not fully refined yet, but it can help you catch up with me and narrow the gap between us.”
“Ah…” Bai Zhuqing’s eyes lit up. “Then I’ll do my best to practice…”
“That’s enough.” Bai Xiang spread the ointment evenly, turned off the light, and lay down right beside her.
“Rest well.”
“Don’t waste your recovery time.”
In truth… days like this continuing on wouldn’t be so bad.
Bai Zhuqing crawled up to look at Bai Xiang. In the darkness, she could only make out a vague, pale silhouette.
A life like this, being with Sister Xiang every day—so what if we’re not lovers?
I’m already more than satisfied…
Thinking that, she quietly burrowed into Bai Xiang’s arms, tentatively looping her own arms around that smooth, slender waist.
No reaction.
The girl grinned in delight, closed her eyes, and fell asleep nestled against Bai Xiang.
