Volume 4, Chapter 50 – Harvest
“Leave.”
Just as the many cultivators aboard the silver-shuttle vessel were staring at the scene below in dumbfounded disbelief, a voice drifted down.
“Both Mingche and Jiuli have been defeated by her. The plan can no longer be carried out. There is no need to keep watching the show.”
“But…”
“You don’t need to worry about those two.” The voice drew out slightly. “If they didn’t even have that much foresight, they wouldn’t have lived this long.”
Rumble…
A low howl came from the sky as the silver-shuttle flying vessel slowly compressed its body, as though trying to return to the world inside the rift.
But under the crushing pressure of the void fissure, it looked extremely strained and difficult. Its edges were constantly being squeezed inward by the crack, and some places had already begun to deform.
Then a layer of flowing silver light covered its surface, and its volume abruptly condensed and shrank. In the span of a few breaths, the giant flying vessel that had been a thousand meters long became little bigger than a model toy. With a single flash, it slipped through the torn gap and fled back into the space of the Illusory Realms.
Whoosh…
The rift sealed shut again in an instant, and the sky returned to a vast emptiness, as if it had never been cut open at all.
Below, however, Bai Xiang had no spare attention to give what was happening overhead.
Compared with weakening her enemies, what she cared about more was strengthening herself.
Although she had already laid out many future paths of the Dao, for example, letting Feixiang Heaven take the saint-weapon method as a reference and continue improving its quality and strength by absorbing the other nine swords, or trying to start from the Feathering Sect and research the Xuandi Scripture to see just what kind of profundity this legendary great power’s cultivation method contained.
Even so, the path she had set from the very beginning, her path of Qi, the true continuation of the cultivation system she had created, was to open and connect her other orifices and meridians after reaching the Origin Realm.
Compared with that proper business, all other methods were unimportant.

“So you did it on purpose…?”
Immortal Venerable Jiuli struggled and forced a few broken syllables from his mouth. He had clearly finally realized that when Bai Xiang had clashed head-on with him in that earlier strike, she had in fact held something back.
The Tianxuan Sword was not Bai Xiang’s natal Dao sword, and it was true that many divine abilities and sword moves could not be used through it.
But in close-quarters combat, when she only needed the sharpness of the weapon itself, this sword really was currently more handy than Feixiang Heaven. If she had used the Tianxuan Sword to clash with Jiuli from the beginning, he would never have underestimated her.
Not only had he failed to expect that Bai Xiang could actually subdue a Dao armament personally forged by Zhang Dai, he had also failed to expect that her attainments in body cultivation were above his own.
Especially… how could she have stopped being affected by “Striving for Supremacy” afterward?
It had clearly worked on her before!
Why? Why did it lose its effect in the blink of an eye? She wasn’t affected at all, and instead it was her speed that left me unable to react?
If Bai Xiang had suppressed him from the start through sheer superior strength, that would have been one thing. But to be repeatedly calculated against by her like this, Immortal Venerable Jiuli only felt that he had lost in a stifling, muddled way.
He was unwilling to accept it and still wanted to spit out a few vicious words at Bai Xiang, but in the next moment he felt a strange suction arise inside his brain. The essence-blood and qi-sha in his upper body was like water pouring out of a reservoir that had sprung a leak, frantically draining toward some point.
And his soul as well!
In the view of Bai Xiang’s golden pupils, on the surface of Immortal Venerable Jiuli’s body, a superimposed soul-phantom faintly appeared over his face, identical to his youthful features.
Most of that phantom was roaring at her, glaring at her, moving its lips as though it wanted to curse her, but a small part of it was also twisting, as if something at the center of his skull was tugging on it, trying to tear it apart and devour it.
This couldn’t go on!
As the suction grew stronger and stronger and more and more of his soul was dragged in, the expression on Immortal Venerable Jiuli’s soul gradually changed from anger and shock to fear.

He gave Bai Xiang a deep look. His fleshly body suddenly convulsed, and with a violent reversal of essence-blood and a surge of force…
Pop!
His skull shattered like a watermelon, and red and white matter sprayed through the air.
Trying to run?
Bai Xiang widened her eyes and neither dodged nor retreated. She thrust her hand straight into the center of the blood-burst, as if grabbing hold of something, while the sword in her other hand pulled at the same time.
Rip!
“Ahhh!”
A scream rang out in the void.
When the blood spray finally burst open, the upper half of Immortal Venerable Jiuli’s body fell downward. Bai Xiang, however, stood there spattered with blood, her eyes closed, her face filled with serenity and ease.
Taiyin Void Lung Meridian, Taiyin Void Heart Meridian, Taiyin Void Pericardium Meridian…
Hidden Dumen Orifice, Hidden Tianguan Orifice, Hidden Heart-Pool Orifice…
Jiuli Earth-Shaking Fist, Spirit-to-Qi Dissolution Method, the opening stance and deployment method of the divine pool “Striving for Supremacy”…
The terrain of the Yinsha Sea, cave estates in the Yinsha Sea, many harbors, and the negotiations and cooperation with the Blood Soul Heaven Intelligence Division…
All kinds of information, all kinds of memories.
Although in the end, because the soul had been torn apart, the main portion of Immortal Venerable Jiuli’s soul still managed to escape by killing itself, Bai Xiang did not care whether the descriptions of the information were complete. As long as even a vague impression, even just a “concept,” had been made known to her, that was enough.

Because she could “cheat.”
First she would use soul-vision of the Body-scape to call out the soul-body, then use Golden-Pupil Illusory God to hypnotize the soul-body. At that point, the hidden orifices concealed inside her would appear upon it.
Then, after taking the soul-body back in, that instant of precise perception would naturally let her understand the locations of those orifices. With a single thought, she could excavate and open them through.
It was just that this was not a suitable place to cultivate.
Better to bring the person back first, then make her breakthrough after things had settled down.
Opening her eyes, Bai Xiang kicked up the Tianxuan Sword, slid it into its scabbard, and put it away. Then she rose and darted through the air until she was above Liu Yong, studying his unconscious face for a moment.
She was wondering what secret this man could possibly be hiding that it had led Blood Soul Heaven to buy off two Immortal Venerables, willing to break the current balance and even willing to provoke Li Huiran in order to seize this person by force.
If their main target had been her, or the Xuandi Scripture that might exist on her person, then she could understand it.
But Liu Yong?
Was he really worth being targeted like this?
Suddenly, at the very moment that thought surfaced, in Bai Xiang’s eyes, a stream of purple qi abruptly sprang out from Liu Yong’s unconscious face.
That purple qi carried a faint trace of golden light within it. It streamed into the air and turned into a qi-dragon, baring its claws and fangs as it soared for a moment, forming into a plume of purple wolf-smoke.
What was that?
Bai Xiang could not understand it. But when she blinked and tried to look again, the purple qi vanished at once.
It was as if what she had just seen had all been an illusion, a scene she herself had imagined.

Bzzz…
Something was vibrating inside her sash.
Bai Xiang took out her phone and answered it. Bai Shengju’s voice immediately came from the other end. “Xiang’er?”
“It’s me.”
“Mr. Aurora just called me and said that according to the readings, the magnetic field fluctuations over there have already calmed down. Only then did I dare call you.”
“…How is it? Are you hurt?”
He really is Grandpa.
The corners of Bai Xiang’s mouth lifted without her noticing.
Something this big had happened, and the first thing he asked was whether she was injured.
He really does dote on me down to the marrow.
“I’m fine.” Bai Xiang shook the blood from her head and face, and even the cut on the right side of her cheek healed rapidly.
“Grandpa, gather the envoys from the Illusory Realms first.”
“I have some questions to ask them.”
