Volume 4, Chapter 122 – Breaking the Divine Pool
Volume 4, Chapter 122 – Breaking the Divine Pool
So, instead of sacrificing his current fleshly true form like Shen Quan or Cui Yuanhao had, he was placing his hopes on escaping by attaching himself to his weapon.
A cold glint flashed through Bai Xiang’s eyes.
Then why would I have gone to all the effort of clearing the field first, and even sending my own people away?
Her figure swept through the air. She circulated the blood and qi in her body according to the method of the Divine Movement chapter from the Sun-Chasing Scripture, while her Qi-Origin flowed along with it. Bai Xiang’s whole body blurred and twisted in midair. With a single flash, she actually caught up to the black light over a short distance.
What is she trying to do?
When Wang Xiu’s soul saw this, a chill rose in his heart.
Doesn’t she know that even if she keeps my Seven-Meridian Demon Dragon Spear, or even wipes out these remnants of my body, she still won’t be able to truly kill me?
I’ve already thrown away my dignity and fled on the spot, and that still isn’t enough for her? Why does she have to press me this relentlessly?
Rationally, Wang Xiu believed Bai Xiang really had gone mad. For something with no gain whatsoever, she was actually willing to use this movement secret art that burned blood and qi.
But emotionally, the moment he recalled that first eye contact with Bai Xiang, recalled the indifference he had seen in those golden pupils, an inexplicable dread rose inside him. He had a vague but powerful feeling that Bai Xiang was not doing this blindly. If she was chasing after him, then she definitely had confidence she could finish the job.
Bai Xiang’s body loomed over him, blocking out what little daylight remained.
Overwhelmed by terror and a sense of mortal danger, Wang Xiu tried to send Bai Xiang a voice transmission in surrender. “We mishandled this matter. You can take Fang Xiaochun and the others away yourself!”
Even now, he still did not understand why Bai Xiang had come here in the first place. He thought only that she was remembering some past friendship with certain people of Qiyun Circuit and could not bear to let them be killed by him.

But what answered him was a brilliant yellow light.
The yellow light burst from the center of the figure above him, from the middle of her chest. At first it seemed dim and hazy, but as Bai Xiang crushed the wooden box encasing it completely, the radiance surged outward like a tidal wave, continuously repairing every nearby phenomenon of Loss of Order.
The void fissures that had been torn open earlier by the thunder tribulation and by the shockwaves from the clash of weapons were constantly healing beneath the yellow glow. Heaven-and-earth energy also began rushing back in from all directions at astonishing speed, refilling this wasteland that had been drained dry by Forbidden-Method Tribulation Lotus.
Wang Xiu was, after all, a man of some knowledge. The moment he saw this, shock flooded his face, and the words “Order-Preserving Treasure” almost escaped his lips.
But it was too late.
Bai Xiang hurled the little yellow jade, striking it dead center at the junction between the shaft and the spearhead of the Seven-Meridian Demon Dragon Spear. A crisp ding rang out in the void. That precious spear, which clearly possessed formidable might and seemed likely to also enjoy the edge of a sacred weapon, had its spearhead snapped off with shocking finality and was smashed into two pieces by the little yellow jade.
But that was not even the worst part. The broken spear also had to endure the tidal washing of that sea-like radiance. Wang Xiu felt that every time the light brushed across him, a portion of his Dao-Void Methods cultivation vanished out of thin air, while pain spread savagely through his soul. He immediately let out a shrill scream. The bloody mud of his ruined body was brushed out in batches by the radiance, then visibly dissolved and disintegrated within it, actually transforming into the purest heaven-and-earth origin qi and merging into the gathered Tianyuan.
How does she dare? How does she dare expose a treasure of this level in front of someone else?
Isn’t she afraid I’ll be reborn somewhere else and expose her secret?
Wang Xiu could not understand it.
Then all at once, he thought of something. No matter what kind of Divine Pool order it was, all of them were in truth authorities stolen from the primary order.
And no matter what kind of Order-Preserving Treasure it was, they all shared one most basic effect: repairing Loss of Order.

In the midst of his agony, Wang Xiu’s soul nearly flew apart in terror. He began begging for mercy in complete earnest. “I was wrong… wrong…! I’ll leave at once! I swear I won’t… ugh!”
Bai Xiang had infused the spear shaft with Qi-Origin, then struck it sideways with her sword on the grip. At once, a soul phantom identical in appearance to Wang Xiu was shaken out and left frozen in midair, unable to move.
At that point, the rules of the Divine Pool had been completely broken.
Without sparing a glance for the expression on Wang Xiu’s soul-body, Bai Xiang released Feixiang Heaven.
This Dao sword, bound to her very life, immediately pounced forward like a blood-starved ferocious tiger. Its originally silver-bright, elegant, limpid blade suddenly turned crimson, and mournful cries rang out around it. Even the air through which it shot was twisting.
Slash!
There was no suspense whatsoever. The instant it pierced through Wang Xiu’s soul-body, Feixiang Heaven shredded and devoured him.
A vast and exquisitely pure energy was transmitted through their connection directly into Bai Xiang’s Inner Body-scape. At the same time, great streams of memory-images came surging in as well.
Of those memories, the clearest and the first to arrive was an impression of a conversation with a silver-haired young man holding a folding fan.
“Supporting Yao Quan, the crown prince of the Yu Dynasty. Is Blood Soul Heaven planning to find a proxy from the enemy camp?”
“A proxy is a proxy. As long as they’re obedient, who it is makes no difference.”
“Hmph. Then that means Blood Soul Heaven’s recent arrests everywhere were also for the Returning-to-Origin Purple Qi? You were planning to extract that purple qi and infuse it into this person?”

“Young Master Wang, let me remind you, some things, even if you know them, cannot be spoken carelessly everywhere. In fact, they cannot even be spoken aloud at all.”
“What a joke! You dare do it, and I’m not even allowed to say it?”
“And isn’t this kind of conduct no different from the Sacred Court? Since when did your side start playing by those rules too?”
“That need not trouble Young Master Wang. You need only act according to the plan.”
“Once the matter is done, we will definitely help you secure the position of monastery master of the Taixu Monastery.”
The voice was male, but so overly delicate and soft that its cadence and inflection sounded sneeringly affected. Hearing it alone would be enough to make an ordinary person furious.
Bai Xiang did not pay much attention to any of that. She merely had the Jade Spirit record the information, while her main consciousness remained focused on controlling her body in midair. Her brows relaxed, her lips loosened, and she felt the incoming units of mind-force being converted into Qi-Origin and continuously filling the Qi Sea in her lower abdomen.
It was a soothing feeling.
A nostalgic one.
Using the little yellow jade to break the resurrection rules of a Divine Pool was not a sudden whim. She had personally seen the Wu Emperor use this very tactic when fighting in Shenwu Heaven.
Afterward, once she defeated the Wu Emperor, she had studied and handled the little yellow jade on the journey back, and she had already wondered whether she could use its function of repairing Loss of Order to break the undying body possessed by Immortal Venerables.
For the moment, Bai Xiang had no intention of learning from the Wu Emperor and swallowing the thing herself.

So if she simply threw it as an object, used it as a weapon, in other words, like hurling a brick at someone, what exactly would the effect be?
This had been an experiment. That was why she had gone so far as to clear the field first, blast the entire mountain peak to ruins, and then send all three of her own people away as well. The purpose was to ensure there would be no witnesses on the scene.
And judging from the result, she had succeeded.
The feeling passed. Those golden pupils slowly opened again, and as her body turned, she looked toward the “Young Master Yuling” Zhu Yunsheng, who was standing stiffly in midair behind her, long since dumbstruck.
“Th-this… Venerable Bai…”
A stiff, ingratiating smile appeared on Zhu Yunsheng’s face, or rather, was forced onto it.
But in the very next instant, it was as if something had struck him through the back of the heart. A mass of yellow light burst straight out through his chest and abdomen, shaking out both his primary soul and the thirty-two remnant puppet souls.
Shhk! Shhk!
Feixiang Heaven pounced at once and shredded and devoured Zhu Yunsheng’s primary soul as well.
At this point, out of a total of five Immortal Venerables, including two prodigies, she had suppressed the true forms of three of them, forcing their souls to flee off and recover their vitality elsewhere, while the other two had had both body and soul destroyed by her. It could truly be said that both spirit and form had been utterly extinguished.
Now it was time to deal with the remaining loose ends.
Bai Xiang summoned Feixiang Heaven back, then lifted her eyes and looked toward the thirty-two remnant souls still standing in place.
