Volume 4, Chapter 0.5 – Prologue (Part 3)
Divine Kingdom, within a mountain palace complex.
Accompanied by powerful spatial fluctuations, a purple-haired man in a suit with his hands clasped behind his back returned to this extremely concealed base, followed by two red-robed attendants.
This man was none other than Duan, a high-ranking member of Paradise Manor who had just returned from the Kingdom of Qingyun.
After the teleportation array dissipated, Duan smiled with satisfaction and turned his gaze to the side.
There, two men in tattered armor, covered in blood, stood silently. From the powerful auras continuously emanating from them, it was clear that both possessed the terrifying strength of the Divine Departure Realm.
After taking in the figure being carried in the leading man’s right hand, Duan generously offered his praise:
“Worthy of being executioners under Lady Isabelle. You completed the mission so quickly. It seems things went quite smoothly~”
“Lord Duan, you flatter us.”
Faced with Duan’s praise, the leading man shook his head without hesitation:
“The operation was not smooth. Although we successfully lured her back to the Republic of Crocy, this woman was far more powerful than we imagined. We lost a comrade before we could successfully capture her.”
With that, the man coldly threw the woman he was carrying forward.
If Bai Lianyue were here, she would be shocked to discover that this woman, covered in wounds, bound in chains, and appearing extremely weak, was none other than her former comrade Alice.
Staring intently at the severely injured Alice, the man couldn’t help but clench his fists:
“If not for her foolish descendant betraying her and helping us stab her in the back, we really wouldn’t have been able to take her down.”
“Hehe, Miss Alice is after all the Fourth Seat of the First Celestial Augur Knights, and she possesses soul fragments of the first savior within her body. Of course she wouldn’t be so easy to deal with. Kells, losing only one person to capture her is already quite impressive~”
Duan continued to praise with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.

“How is the situation with Miss Alice’s family, the members of the Roth Family?”
“We didn’t spare a single one. We dealt with them all.”
The man named Kells spoke coldly, slowly raising his hand to present a red jewel emanating thick bloody energy to Duan:
“The bloodline power of the entire family is concentrated here. However, the power of the First wasn’t cultivated very ideally—it’s much worse than the previous Celestial Augur Knight families.”
“No matter. After all, Miss Alice never personally bore offspring. It’s understandable that the results are somewhat lacking.”
Duan shook his head, then accepted the jewel the man handed over with satisfaction.
After carefully examining the jewel for a moment, Duan raised the corner of his mouth playfully and murmured to himself:
“This way, only House Lingyuan remains.”
However, it seems Zao Li’s side failed?
Until now, there hasn’t been any news at all.
Thinking this, an imperceptible cold glint flashed through Duan’s eyes.
Just as Duan was contemplating, Kells’ voice reached his ears:
“I wonder how Lord Duan’s operation is progressing? Lady Isabelle heard that the Celestial Blight was repelled and is somewhat concerned.”
Hearing this, Duan’s thoughts were immediately pulled back to reality.
The next moment, this purple-haired man raised the corner of his mouth and laughed with a quite confident tone:

“There’s no need to worry about that. Although Ulutiel was repelled, we still obtained sufficient souls and resentment.”
“That’s good.”
“Leave the rest to me. Kells, you should go rest first. Fighting Alice must have consumed considerable stamina. You should go rest and replenish your vital essence.”
“Mm…”
Looking down at his gradually withering arm, after exchanging glances with his companion, Kells nodded:
“Then we’ll go rest first. This First Celestial Augur Knight is left to you, Fifth Ancestor. She’s very difficult to deal with—please be careful.”
“You can rest assured about that.”
“Then we take our leave.”
After a simple bow, Kells and his companion politely withdrew from the great hall, leaving Duan and his two guards standing silently in the center of the hall.
After silently observing Alice for several seconds, Duan slightly turned his head to look aside.
“You’ve come.”
At this moment, accompanied by purple-black fluctuations of Augury Force, a black-haired girl with hollow pupils and an expressionless face appeared in the hall. Upon seeing Duan, the black-haired girl respectfully lowered her head and spoke calmly in an emotionless voice:
“Yes, Father.”
Taking in the obedient appearance of the black-haired girl—that is, Bai Xingwu—Duan couldn’t help but slightly raise the corner of his mouth.
No matter what, the feeling of casually commanding the daughter of that great hero, the world’s second savior, as a servant was indeed quite pleasurable.

Suppressing his smile, Duan once again showed a serious and earnest appearance:
“How is Yeli’s current condition?”
“The new savior’s condition is good. His Augury Force has been in a stable state recently.”
“That’s good.”
Duan nodded with a light laugh.
“By the way, my dear obedient daughter, I have a task for you.”
“Father, please speak.”
“Within three years, cultivate the new savior to Divine Departure Realm strength. Any method is acceptable—I need him to grow quickly.”
As Duan’s words entered her ears, Xingwu’s pupils suddenly contracted, and a strange glint flashed through her violet gemstone eyes.
Fortunately, because she was looking down with her hair covering her face, Duan didn’t notice the change in Xingwu’s expression.
Xingwu herself also quickly controlled her abnormal emotions, returning to that expressionless, hollow-eyed state, and respectfully nodded.
“Understood, Father.”
“Very good.”
Duan nodded with satisfaction.
On the other side, after hearing the conversation between Duan and Xingwu, the robust man Bjorn, who had been standing behind Duan as an attendant, asked his master with some confusion:

“Lord Duan, the new savior is just a little brat right now. Advancing to Divine Departure Realm within three years is too rushed, isn’t it? If we force it, there will probably be many side effects, right?”
Bjorn voiced his concerns.
“Without a savior, the evil gods in the future…”
However, what Bjorn’s inquiry received was Duan’s exceptionally cold and sharp gaze.
“Fool, after following me for so long, haven’t you figured it out yet? I never intended to rely on a savior to deal with those three monsters.”
“Then, then what you said about cultivation before?”
“That’s merely to cultivate a suitable vessel.”
After coldly replying to his subordinate, Duan seemed too lazy to continue dealing with him and walked toward the depths of the hall with his hands clasped behind his back.
Yes, a properly cultivated savior might indeed be very powerful, but what use would that be?
It would only make the savior increasingly difficult to control.
What he needed was merely a body of sufficient strength.
Through this battle between the Kingdom of Qingyun and the Vassals of Sky, they had already collected enough souls and concentrated resentment from various beings.
As long as they had one more suitable vessel…
“We can create our own divinity, a true god… heh, hehe, hehehe…”
