Volume 4, Chapter 76 – The Subtle Relationships Among the Ancestors
Within the hidden underground palace of Paradise Manor in the Divine Kingdom,
Duan-Solrog, who serves as the palace administrator and is now the true ruler of the Divine Kingdom, currently sits upon a special chair, suspended in a wondrous space that flickers with starlight, resembling the starry sky itself. Facing this Solrog Ancestor is a black silhouette shrouded entirely in dark mist.
Before this silhouette, Duan does not emanate his usual terrifying aura of pressure, but instead restrains all his power. The arrogance in his expression has also vanished, replaced by respectful deference.
Because Duan understands very clearly that the existence projecting before him is one of the three true core members of the Solrog family.
The woman who alone enjoys the True Ancestor’s favor.
The Second Ancestor of the Solrogs,
——”Isabelle-Solrog”——
Facing Isabelle, Duan—this Fifth Ancestor who strikes terror into ordinary Paradise Manor personnel—displays utmost respect, behaving like an obedient junior, always listening to Isabelle’s words with a friendly smile and reporting the progress of nearly all recent plans.
“Alice Roth attempted to escape? How unexpected… She’s the only one to escape from the Nether Palace in these past thousand years, isn’t she?”
After hearing the report about this matter, the shadow—that is, Isabelle—offered a rare comment of sentiment. Her tone seemed to carry a trace of praise.
However, her tone quickly shifted, becoming cold and chilling.
“She was recaptured, wasn’t she?”
“Of course, Genovis went to catch her personally.”
Duan replied with a light laugh.
“Oh? That guy who’s been holed up in the Nether Palace for hundreds of years actually went personally? How rare.”
“He was ambushed by Alice and had one of his bodies destroyed, so he chased after her in a rage.”
“And then?”

“Hehe, as a result, that guy accidentally killed Alice outright. He brought back Alice’s corpse and rushed back to the laboratory in a panic to extract the soul fragments. He’s been busy with that until now and still hasn’t come out.”
“That’s normal enough. The First Savior’s soul fragments have long since fused with those Celestial Augur Knights. Naturally it would take some time to extract them.”
Isabelle replied matter-of-factly. At the same time, this Second Ancestor narrowed her eyes slightly, looking at Duan with a meaningful gaze.
“Also, Duan, I hear your operations are progressing quite smoothly.”
“Indeed they are.”
When discussing this matter, Duan’s tone clearly carried a trace of pride.
“Bai Xingwu has successfully controlled the Terran Malevolence and forcibly put her into a semi-dormant state. Right now, Xingwu and the Blood Guards members are bringing Gaia Lobir back to the Divine Kingdom.”
“Hehe, this is truly historic good news.”
Isabelle’s tone carried approval.
Though Duan couldn’t see Isabelle’s expression, he could be certain that this Second Ancestor was in quite a good mood at the moment.
After all, controlling the Terran Malevolence was equivalent to dominating the most terrifying force in this world. Not only would they no longer need to worry about threats from the other two great lineages, but they could also obtain all the resentment needed for experiments from Gaia Lobir.
Moreover, Isabelle would finally have the opportunity to take unrestricted revenge against her greatest enemy.
Therefore, taking advantage of the other’s good mood, Duan seized the opportunity to suggest:
“Lady Isabelle, I wonder if I might have the honor of inviting you… as well as Lord Astral to visit the Nether Palace?”
“Hmm?”
Upon hearing this, Isabelle’s figure trembled. Her smile faded, and her words came to an abrupt halt.
Then, Isabelle’s deep pupils hidden in shadow regarded Duan thoughtfully:

“You want to see Lord Astral?”
“Yes.”
Duan nodded without hesitation and continued speaking in an extremely sincere tone:
“The Terran Malevolence Gaia Lobir is the most fearsome weapon available today. I wish to present her to the True Ancestor! Once the True Ancestor leaves an imprint on Gaia Lobir, the evil god will become an eternal servant of our Solrog family. This would be a moment worthy of being recorded in history. So I hope Lady Isabelle could also come to witness it when the time comes.”
Faced with Duan’s proposal, Isabelle fell into silence, while Duan nervously lowered his head, waiting for a reply.
But unfortunately, Duan did not receive the answer he wanted.
“Lord Astral is currently in seclusion and cannot be disturbed for the time being. But rest assured, I will find a way to inform Lord Astral of your achievements. Until then, just focus on properly controlling the Terran Malevolence.”
The moment he heard this answer, Duan’s pupils suddenly contracted.
Disappointment quietly leaked from within them.
Of course, in the next instant, all emotions were hidden deep in Duan’s heart. The purple-haired man smiled and replied respectfully:
“Understood, Lady Isabelle.”
Several minutes later, after leaving that special space and returning to his office, the smile on Duan’s face was visibly replaced by anger.
The next moment, Duan slammed his fist down hard on his desk!
“Zzzt!”
Accompanied by the violent eruption of harsh lightning, the desk was reduced to ash.
“That bitch…”
Duan was quite dissatisfied with Isabelle.

Duan not only detested her high-and-mighty attitude and the way she looked at him like a little brat, but what he disliked even more was Isabelle’s privilege.
That privilege which made Duan incredibly jealous.
You see, within the entire Solrog family, only Isabelle had the right to contact the First Ancestor, Lord Astral.
Even though he was the Fifth Ancestor, holding high rank and great power within the Solrog family, he still couldn’t communicate directly with Lord Astral—he had to go through Isabelle.
Without Isabelle, he couldn’t even contact the Lord Astral whom he most revered.
This was something Duan could not accept.
Damn it,
Isabelle!
Nothing but a lucky person… who just happened to meet the True Ancestor early!
If I had met the True Ancestor before you!
The person Lord Astral trusts most would definitely be me!
Not you, you cheap woman!
“Ah,
No matter, just let you be smug for a little while longer.”
Duan laughed coldly several times.
Over these thousand years, whether it was working hard to manage Paradise Manor, collecting resentment, or cultivating new Divine-Graced Maidens… everything Duan had done was to make the True Ancestor look upon him with new eyes… to demonstrate his value to Lord Astral.
Duan wanted to prove…

that he
was Lord Astral’s most loyal and most useful servant!
He
wanted to gain that lord’s recognition.
Just as Duan bit his lip and laughed coldly, seeming to sense a rapidly approaching presence, Duan immediately restrained the spiritual power that had spread out, along with the terrifying expression on his face, and slowly turned his head toward the office door.
The next moment—
——”Knock knock.”
The door was gently knocked.
“Come in.”
Duan spoke with natural authority.
Immediately after,
a Blood Guards member who had served Duan for many years pushed open the door, entered the office, and respectfully reported:
“Lord Duan, Miss Xingwu and some Blood Guards members have arrived at the Divine Kingdom’s border.”
“What about the Terran Malevolence?”
“Successfully brought back.”
“Hehe, very good.”
