Volume 6, Chapter 25 – Abnormal Circumstances, Corrupted Beasts Acting on Their Own
While the maid entered the conference room to report to Bai Lianyue and Yelena,
Wishaven had already been plunged into chaos.
The central avenue of the city—the road leading to the Lingyuan family’s main residence—had now completely devolved into a carnival of rage. The asphalt surface was heated by the trampling of protesters, various vehicles were stuck motionless at intersections, with car owners either rolling down windows to curse or holding up phones to join livestreams—in their camera frames, dense crowds of people surged toward the Lingyuan family estate like a swarm of locusts driven by fear.
The protest signs held by the crowd glinted dizzily in the sunlight—some bore the Lingyuan family’s silver vine crest crossed out with bloody red marker; others featured candid shots of Bai Lianyue returning to the estate the day before, her ice-blue curse power deliberately magnified, captioned “The Terran Malevolence’s curse! The Lingyuan family wants to feed us to Corrupted Beasts!”
Clearly, Bai Lianyue’s hurried rush back to the Lingyuan family estate two days ago had been noticed. Though her speed was too fast for people to be certain of Bai Lianyue’s identity, they still treated her as a vassal of the Terrabond Lineage. An evil god’s vassal entering the Lingyuan family had undoubtedly given the people of Wishaven an incomparably huge shock.
Especially at this critical moment.
Though Yelena and Luo Fei had continuously defended Bai Lianyue during the previous period, at most they had only gotten the servants within the Lingyuan family to accept the evil god miss. The entire population of Wishaven still harbored tremendous hostility and wariness toward the Terrabond Lineage and the Terran Malevolence.
“Burn the Lingyuan family flags!!!! These beasts are just Gaia Lobir’s dogs!”
Following the unified chanting of the crowd, several hooded young people quickly rushed out and threw a stack of flag banners bearing the family crest into a fire barrel. Flames “whooshed” upward, black smoke carrying burning fabric drifted up and landed on the camera lenses of nearby livestreaming protesters.
A brown-haired youth who seemed to be an organizer of the protest demonstration immediately held up his phone, his voice deliberately trembling:
“The Lingyuan family bastards have definitely colluded with the Terrabond Lineage! If we say they were previously deceived by Lianna who was disguised as the Terran Malevolence, that could be understandable! But what about the Terrabond Lineage vassal who rushed into the Lingyuan family the day before yesterday?!”
“The Lingyuan family’s defensive barrier didn’t react to that Corrupted Beast at all! That means the Lingyuan family didn’t treat that monster as an enemy! They’re all in cahoots!”
“How could people who collude with Gaia Lobir possibly protect Wishaven, possibly protect the northern borders? They must have cooperated with the Terran Malevolence and plan to use all the people of Wishaven as fodder!”
“Covenant government! Northern enforcement agencies! What are you still doing?!!”
“You Lingyuan family scumbags! Get out of Wishaven immediately!”
As the man continued his rallying cries, the crowd’s emotions were instantly ignited.
Hostility toward Corrupted Beasts wrapped around everyone’s hearts like poisonous vines.

The animosity surged like crashing waves in this madness.
A man in a gray suit pushed to the front row, holding a megaphone and roaring:
“My neighbor disappeared last week! The surveillance only caught a pale green blur—that’s a Terrabond Lineage Corrupted Beast! The Lingyuan family took benefits from the Terran Malevolence and stopped caring about our lives long ago! They must have already secretly let Corrupted Beasts in!”
As soon as these words fell, someone immediately chimed in: “It must be true!! That beast Gaia Lobir has probably already turned Wishaven into a hunting ground for the Terrabond Lineage! If we don’t drive out the Lingyuan family and thoroughly cleanse Wishaven, we’ll all die!”
“Drive out the Lingyuan family! Eliminate these tumors!”
One shout after another, the slogans echoed between heaven and earth, resounding throughout all of Wishaven.
At the same time,
On a rooftop of a commercial building opposite the Lingyuan family across from the protest street, a certain robust and tall man stood there, his white long hair disheveled by the wind.
He leaned against the railing, the scabbard of the katana in his hand gripped so tightly it had turned white, his knuckles showing blue from excessive force. With his Peak Vassal Tier super senses, he could hear every slogan from the crowds below clearly—every “beast,” “feed to Corrupted Beasts,” and “damn Terran Malevolence” was like a needle stabbing his nerves.
“Damn it, trash…”
Biting his lip with his canine tooth, Zhouyu’s gaze became increasingly sharp.
Without question,
Zhouyu’s mood was now at rock bottom.
As a vassal of the Terrabond Lineage, Bai Lianyue was the person he respected most in his heart. Therefore, after hearing so many insulting words, Dog Bro’s murderous intent could be said to be infinitely expanding.
These idiots,
If it weren’t for Big Sister’s orders to protect you, Wishaven—located at the border between two major vassal faction territories—would have long ago become a mountain of corpses and sea of blood.

You can live until now all because of Big Sister!
Yet you dare to slander Big Sister like this!! You’re really asking for death!
Big Sister didn’t send any Corrupted Beasts into the city to eat people at all—are you guys really suffering from persecution delusion?!
Besides,
We’ve protected you for a thousand years—even if we eat a few of you, so what?! You should obediently offer tribute as the correct behavior, shouldn’t you?!
“Forget it, might as well just cut them down.”
Zhouyu’s voice was cold as ice, terrifying white curse power surged from his fingertips toward the blade, and the surrounding air suddenly became incredibly oppressive.
He could leap down from the rooftop in 0.1 seconds and directly slash half of the troublemakers with his katana, giving these people a lesson.
However,
Just as Zhouyu was grinding his teeth and his murderous intent was about to explode, a hand suddenly reached from behind and gently pressed on top of his head.
“Calm down, doggy.”
The speaker was Yelena, her voice so calm it was out of place with the chaos below.
“Killing them will only make the situation more chaotic. Big Sister won’t be happy.”
Her words were calm but carried unparalleled binding power.
The moment he heard these words, the murderous intent in Zhouyu’s eyes visibly faded, and the blade he had partially drawn was returned to its scabbard.
Seeing Zhouyu being so obedient, Yelena smiled and rubbed Zhouyu’s head.

“So what do we do next? Just let them make trouble like this? Really don’t understand what these pigs are thinking… If the Lingyuan family really cooperated with us and planned to sacrifice Wishaven, wouldn’t doing this just anger us? Aren’t they afraid we’ll stew them right now? They’re obviously so weak… yet they still don’t choose to be more well-behaved?”
“Humans can be quite stupid sometimes.”
Yelena sneered dismissively a few times.
“Anyway, bear with it for now and control the nearby Corrupted Beasts—don’t let those guys run wild. This is a perfect chance for Big Sister to demonstrate some ‘miracles’ and test whether we can dispel their hostility.”
“Oh, got it.”
Zhouyu nodded obediently.
However,
Just as the two vassals were making follow-up arrangements, a sudden thunderous rumbling sound made them both frown.
“BOOM!”
The next instant,
An unexpected situation occurred.
Under the bewildered gaze of the two vassals, the glass curtain wall of a building on the western side of the demonstration crowd was suddenly smashed through, creating a large hole.
Wrapped in a terrifying curse power aura and accompanied by savage roars, a hideous monster burst forth.
Its body was twice the size of the large trucks in the parade convoy, covered in glossy dark green vines, with clearly defined muscle masses underneath the vines that made audible “creaking” sounds of sinew and bone grinding with every movement.
Most frightening were its claws—not the typical pointed claws of ordinary beasts, but blades gleaming with cold metallic luster, nearly the length of an adult human body…
The moment it landed, the asphalt road surface was stamped with five deep craters, with scalding tar oozing from the holes.

“Cor-Corrupted Beast?!!!”
Several nearby demonstrators hadn’t even reacted when the Corrupted Beast’s claws were already striking.
“Watch out! Get down!” someone shouted, but it was already too late.
The sound of claws cutting through air came with a whistle. Five civilians holding protest signs didn’t even see the Corrupted Beast’s movement clearly—they only felt sharp pain in their chests. With a “crack,” bones shattered, and the sound of flesh being torn was so clear it made scalps tingle.
In the next instant, these people’s bodies were ripped in half at the waist and abdomen. Blood and internal organs splashed onto the ground with a “splash,” splattering the nearby crowd…
“AAAAAAHHHHHH!!”
In that moment,
Terrified screams echoed through the streets as the crowd was suddenly consumed by chaos…
Watching the Corrupted Beast that had suddenly gone berserk and begun attacking, Yelena clenched her fists tightly and glared sternly at Dog Bro beside her.
“Zhouyu! Didn’t I tell you!! Not to act recklessly?!!”
“No…”
But facing Yelena’s questioning, Zhouyu shook his head in particular bewilderment.
“No, it wasn’t me…”
“What?”
“I… I didn’t order the Corrupted Beasts to attack!”
