Volume 6, Chapter 30 – An Unexpected Person
Capital of the Westivian Covenant – Clavino.
In the underground conference room of the Clavino Presidential Residence.
As the heavy alloy doors slowly closed behind them, completely shutting out the outside sunlight, a suffocating and serious atmosphere instantly spread throughout the room.
Nearly all the seats around the large circular conference table were filled.
At the center of the conference room’s round table sat the nominal supreme leaders of the five major nations.
Emperor Mu Yelan of the Kingdom of Qingyun; President Ludean of the Westivian Covenant; Saint Hilgena of the Maretide Kingdom; the new Pope Pejieer of the Divine Kingdom; and Prime Minister Antongmu of the Republic of Crocy.
Besides the core leaders and officials of the five major nations, there were also over ten representatives from various major powers and families.
Though the forces they controlled couldn’t compare to the five major nations, they were already among the foremost in the human world—important components of the war strength against Corrupted Beast invasions.
Wall-mounted screens looped recent footage of Corrupted Beast attacks: blood pools on Wishaven’s central avenue, destroyed suburban villages, ruined border defenses. The bloody images made the air in the conference room increasingly tense. Some unconsciously gripped their water glasses tighter, others quietly adjusted their chair positions, and still others glanced toward the door from the corners of their eyes, as if expecting something…
After taking in the projected content on the screen, Mu Yelan’s heart felt squeezed by an invisible hand, making even breathing heavy. He unconsciously raised his hand to touch his neck—there lay hidden an ice-blue lily-of-the-valley mark that Bai Lianyue had personally branded months ago.
As Emperor of the Kingdom of Qingyun, he should be leading his people against evil gods, yet now he was a contractor of the Terran Malevolence Gaia Lobir. To save his country from the Celestial Blight, he had accepted a contract with the Terran Malevolence…
“Is this… really appropriate for me…”
Looking around, Mu Yelan whispered quietly and guiltily.

“Thinking inappropriate thoughts again?”
Just then, Ludean beside Mu Yelan suddenly spoke, his voice kept very low so only the two could hear. He lifted the coffee in front of him, taking a light sip, his tone carrying an imperceptible chill. “Your Majesty Mu Yelan, we’re all contractors. From the day we signed our contracts, we lost the right to discuss ‘choices.'”
Mu Yelan’s body stiffened, and he looked sideways at Ludean—this person who had become President of the Westivian Covenant by signing a contract with the Black Witch.
“I know we can’t violate our contracts,”
Mu Yelan’s voice carried a trace of hoarseness.
“But these people… they don’t know the truth of this meeting, don’t know we’re going to sell them to evil gods. The Kingdom of Qingyun nearly perished because of the Celestial Blight Ulutiel. I don’t want to personally push more people into hell.”
“Sell to evil gods?” Ludean scoffed, his fingertips lightly tapping the table surface. “You should understand—we’re doing this to oppose the Sky and Sea factions. With the Celestial Blight and Abyssal Lord joining forces, if the five human nations fight alone, there’s only death. Lady Yelena is right—only by letting the Terrabond Lineage control the upper echelons and integrate all forces can there be a thread of hope.”
As someone who had actively sold his soul to evil god forces, Ludean didn’t harbor much guilt.
After all, the object of his faith and worship was no longer some ethereal Lord, but the great Terran Malevolence.
Ludean paused, turning to look at Mu Yelan with sharp eyes: “Don’t think about unrealistic things. Just peacefully carry out Lady Yelena’s arrangements. Otherwise, forget about your own life being in danger—whether the Kingdom of Qingyun can continue to exist is questionable.”
“I just… feel awful.” Mu Yelan said quietly, his gaze returning to the screen, which had switched to footage of the five nations’ joint military forces assembling. “Obviously trying to protect them, yet having to deceive them like a traitor.”
“Even if you feel awful, you have to bear it.” Ludean put down his coffee cup, his voice returning to its usual calm. “When the meeting starts, you just need to speak according to the script Lady Yelena gave you. Don’t worry about anything else. Remember—we’re not traitors; we’re leaving humanity a way to survive.”

Mu Yelan said nothing more, only silently watching the screen.
Though the meeting hadn’t officially started, discussions in the conference room were gradually growing louder. The entire conference room’s atmosphere became increasingly heavy and oppressive as the discussions began.
At this moment, outside the conference room in the corridor shadows, two figures were quietly lurking.
They were Serveiling and Zhouyu, sent here by Yelena.
Currently, Serveiling wore a black suit with black sunglasses, her gray long hair combed into a high ponytail, looking exactly like security personnel.
As her partner, Zhouyu had taken the form of a police dog, being led by Serveiling.
“Woof woof woof??” (Stinking cat, something’s not right here?)
Zhouyu looked sideways at Serveiling, saying somewhat unhappily.
In response, Serveiling had no intention of answering, instead watching the surveillance camera footage in her hand and directly changing the topic.
“Don’t make noise—it’s the crucial moment. Hehe, done~”
Serveiling raised a playful smile.
“Woof woof?” (They drank it?)
“Mm.”

Serveiling nodded.
You see, among the important figures attending this meeting were several powerful Divine Departure Realm existences. To ensure these guys could also be completely suppressed by them, Serveiling had already added something to the attendees’ drinks.
A poison grown from Bai Lianyue’s body.
Divine Departure Realm experts were indeed formidable, but they couldn’t possibly resist an evil god’s poison.
“Once Ludean activates the suppression barrier, we’ll make our move.”
“Woof woof.” (Mm, understood.)
Zhouyu gave an exceptionally cold and serious answer.
On the other side, in the conference room,
After receiving Serveiling’s signal, Ludean, as the organizer, finally stood up and walked to the main seat. He cleared his throat and picked up the microphone in front of him. The discussions in the conference room instantly quieted as everyone’s attention focused on him, expecting this “crucial meeting against evil gods” to begin.
Ludean’s gaze swept across the entire venue. After confirming all target individuals were present, Ludean lightly touched the ring on his index finger.
However, before Ludean could inject spiritual power to activate the barrier, an unexpected thunderous roar suddenly shattered the meeting’s silence.
“BOOM!!!”

Accompanied by a burst of surging spiritual power explosion, a tremendous crash suddenly came from overhead, followed by the sound of the ceiling cracking. Cement blocks, steel bars, and super-alloy protective walls rained down like a torrential downpour. Everyone was startled, instinctively covering their heads to dodge as the conference room instantly descended into chaos.
Mu Yelan’s eyes snapped open as he looked up toward the ceiling—there appeared a huge hole through which sunlight poured down, casting a blindingly bright spot on the floor. In the center of that light spot, an invisible Corrupted Beast covered in transparent membrane crashed heavily onto the conference table. The membrane ruptured, revealing dark green vines and black blood flowing from its seven orifices.
On the Corrupted Beast’s back was embedded a clear fist print.
“Wh-what is that?!” Someone screamed, pointing at the dying Corrupted Beast, their voice full of terror.
“It’s a Corrupted Beast! A Terrabond Lineage Corrupted Beast!”
“Why is there a Corrupted Beast?! Why did it appear here?!”
Ludean’s face instantly turned ashen as he looked sharply toward the door—why hadn’t Serveiling and Zhouyu acted yet? How could the invisible Corrupted Beast on the roof have been knocked down?
Just then, a figure jumped down from the hole in the ceiling, landing steadily on the Corrupted Beast’s corpse. The person wore a black trench coat with a hood covering most of their face, revealing only sharp jawlines and eyes gleaming with cold light. They looked down at the corpse beneath their feet… Hearing everyone’s terrified questioning, the man sneered coldly.
The man’s voice carried contemptuous cold laughter, like ice picks stabbing into everyone’s ears:
——”Why is there a Corrupted Beast here? Very simple… there are… human traitors here.”——
As the man’s words rang out, the Divine Kingdom’s new Pope sitting very close to the man also instantly showed a bewildered expression, tremblingly raising a finger to point at the man before him.
——”You… you are?! Xi Xuan-West?!!”——
