Volume 6, Chapter 53 – Even Fleeing Into The Veiled Domain Brings No Peace
Forsaken Metropolis Visas. A covert safe point reserved by Zhouyu.
Suyu, guardian maid to the twins, escorted Miya and Weiya forward through the dust with precise steps. Her silver-white short hair clung to the sides of her face, gleaming with a cold metallic sheen. Her eyes were blank and still, like unactivated optical sensors, scanning every corner of their surroundings with quiet vigilance.
“Where is this? Why did we suddenly come here…”
Miya gripped her little sister’s hand tightly, her small face full of confusion, a thread of displeasure even seeping into her azure eyes.
“Weren’t we just about to watch a movie with Sister Ailiya?”
Having missed the movie she’d been looking forward to, Miya pouted in mild irritation.
Weiya said nothing. She simply shifted herself quietly closer to her older sister, the deep stillness in her orange-red eyes far older than her years.
“Sister Suyu… did something happen in Wishaven?”
She looked up at the guardian maid and asked in a small, tentative voice.
“The Abyssal Lord Polarvitan and the Vassals of Sky have launched a joint attack. The situation in Wishaven is currently unfavorable, so I have brought the two young misses back to Visas. Once the disturbance subsides, I will escort you home.”
Her voice was flat and measured, with no trace of emotion.
“An attack…”
Mouthing the word to herself, Weiya’s expression shifted almost imperceptibly.
Beside her, Miya apparently took her sister’s silence for fear and worry, so she quickly smiled and gave a reassuring pat.
“It’s fine! Don’t worry!! Mommy is super strong — she’ll blow up all the bad guys in one go!”
“Mm.”
Before long, Suyu led the twins to their destination. She fired a single blast to clear away the camouflaged rubble, then pushed open the heavy wooden-and-iron door. A wave of clean, dry air swept over them, driving back the miasma and chill of the outside world.
And so the three of them entered the safe house Zhouyu had designed for them.
The furnishings inside were simple but highly functional: a soft carpet designed with cushioning modules to protect the twins from bumps, mechanical biomimetic plants in the corners equipped with built-in air purification, warm yellow electric lights that switched on automatically — their brightness calibrated precisely for children’s eyes — along with shelves packed with gaming consoles and comic books, and a refrigerator stocked full of snacks.

All of it had been prepared by Zhouyu in advance, at the Evil God Lady’s instruction.
“Young Miss Miya, Young Miss Weiya, please remain here for the time being.”
Suyu released the twins’ hands, her tone still as even as ever.
“I will execute a room inspection and security sweep. I will return in five minutes, after which I will prepare a late-night snack for you.”
With a polite bow, she turned and headed toward the stairs.
Miya and Weiya settled obediently onto the sofa.
Weiya picked up a plush toy from beside her and hugged it tightly to her chest, seeking comfort in its softness; Miya draped herself over the armrest and quietly reached over to pluck a candy from the coffee table, popping it into her mouth.
“Weiya, do you want to play a game?”
After chewing on the candy for a moment, Miya picked up a game console and held it out.
Given that they would likely be here for a while, Miya figured it was best to find something to pass the time.
But Weiya, rather than giving her usual immediate and decisive nod, turned her gaze away, as if lost in thought.
Right now, Mommy and Sister Ailiya are both gone…
Should I go again…
“Weiya?! Do you want to play or not?”
Miya’s voice rang out again just then, pulling Weiya straight back to reality.
“Enmm.”
Looking at her older sister’s eager little expression, Weiya found she couldn’t bring herself to refuse.
“Sure. Okay.”
Never mind. I should keep Sister company first. That’s more important.

“Hehe, yay~”
Miya laughed in delight and held up two game consoles.
However — just as Miya was bursting with excitement and about to start a two-player game, a clear and melodious voice drifted softly from behind them.
“Playing games? That sounds pretty fun. Can I join?”
???
“Wuh?”
Hearing that ethereal, unfamiliar female voice, Miya and Weiya startled in unison, then turned to look behind them.
There, propped up against the back of the sofa with both hands cupping her cheeks, was a petite figure.
She was a little girl who looked no older than thirteen, dressed in a simple white dress. Her long snow-white hair cascaded over her shoulders like a waterfall, the strands shimmering with a faint silver light. Her dark blue eyes were like a fathomless cold pool — and they radiated unmistakable warmth.
“I want to play too. May I join?”
The white-haired girl spoke in a sweet, honeyed voice.
The twins exchanged glances, clearly at a loss. They didn’t recognize this girl who had appeared out of nowhere, after all.
Is this a companion-bot Dog Bro made? She looks pretty friendly…
“Um, um, okay then?”
Miya scratched her head and answered, a little dazed.
But just as Miya raised her hand to pass the game console over, Suyu’s voice abruptly rang out from behind them.
“Be careful — Young Miss Miya!”
Before the little girl could even react, a powerful pulling force latched onto Miya’s body, yanking her sharply toward the stairwell. By the time Miya’s senses caught up, she was already standing at the foot of the stairs with Weiya.
Suyu, who had gone to inspect the safe house’s security systems just moments ago, had entered combat mode, placing herself squarely between them and the intruder.

The laser blade that extended from her arm not only sent the temperature inside the room spiking in an instant — it transformed the entire atmosphere into one of drawn swords and taut bowstrings.
“What’s wrong? Isn’t she… a playmate?”
“No.”
Suyu flatly denied it.
“This individual is the Celestial Blight, Ulutiel.”
“The Celestial Blight?”
The moment they heard those words, the twins’ eyes shrank to pinpoints. Their shock and alarm was written plainly across their faces.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, the white-haired girl still lounging against the sofa gave a light, amused laugh and tilted her head.
“A mechanical maid? Big Sister really does have everything~”
Ulutiel’s voice remained soft and sweet.
Suyu did not engage. Instead, she cast a sidelong glance back at the two small figures behind her.
“Young misses, please proceed immediately to the third floor and leave via the teleportation array.”
With that brief instruction delivered, the core inside Suyu began spinning at full speed. Her arm shifted into heavy cannon mode, and without another word she fired a white energy blast straight at Ulutiel.
“My, my~ Quite the warm welcome~”
Faced with Suyu’s attack, Ulutiel smiled faintly. She raised one hand in a lazy, unhurried gesture, and pale white flames erupted and condensed into a white barrier in an instant. The energy blast slammed into it and let out a crackling hiss — like snow meeting a raging fire — and dissolved completely without so much as a ripple.
“Well then, I ought to return the favor~”
Saying so, Ulutiel gave a small, unsettling lick of her lips, the gesture carrying a strange, feline quality.
“Tactical assessment: attack ineffective. Initiating contingency protocols —”
The heavy cannon shifted back into a laser blade. Energy armor began spreading across Suyu’s entire body, clearly signaling her shift into full combat mode.

As an artificial intelligence modified by Zhouyu, Suyu was well aware that she stood no chance against an evil-god-tier entity like Ulutiel — but even so, she would fight with everything she had to buy the two young misses time to escape.
However —
Before her transformation was even complete, Ulutiel’s figure had appeared before her like a ghost. The little girl raised one hand and struck, the motion seemingly gentle — yet the power concealed within was catastrophic. It landed squarely on Suyu’s chest.
Thud.
A dull, bone-deep crash. Suyu’s mechanical casing caved inward instantly. Light-blue energy fluid spurted from the cracks like blood, splattering onto the floor with a hissing, corrosive sizzle. The sheer force of the impact sent her mechanical joints flying out of alignment, her body collapsing like a puppet with its strings cut. She shot backward and slammed into the wall — the surface cracking into a spider’s web of fissures around her. Suyu slid slowly to the ground, energy fluid leaking from the corners of her mouth, her hollow eyes flickering with dim red light. Her core systems kept issuing a steady stream of warnings — “Frame damaged” — “Combat capacity reduced by 90%” — “Core components critically compromised” — yet they could no longer support her back onto her feet.
“Sister Suyu!”
Witnessing this, Miya let out a sharp cry from the staircase and lurched forward.
But before she could even get her little legs moving, Ulutiel had already materialized in front of the twins — startling them so badly they stumbled and nearly fell.
Even so, Miya steadied herself, took a breath, and then planted herself squarely in Ulutiel’s path with both arms spread wide, pressing Weiya behind her.
“Weiya! Don’t be scared, Big Sister will protect you!”
But before the words were even fully out of her mouth, Ulutiel raised an eyebrow — and an invisible force washed over Miya. Her body swayed beyond her control, her eyelids growing heavier and heavier. The fear in her eyes slowly dissolved, replaced by a deep, pressing drowsiness. She let out a small yawn, and then gradually crumpled onto the sofa, sinking into a deep slumber, brows slightly furrowed.
“Sister Miya!”
Weiya cried out, instinctively reaching to shake her awake — only to find Miya entirely unresponsive. She clutched her sister’s arm with both hands, shaking it in frantic desperation.
“She’s only asleep. There is no danger to her life.”
“She’s… asleep?”
Weiya swallowed hard, her voice trembling.
Faced with Weiya’s wide-eyed stare, Ulutiel bent slightly forward and reached out, giving Weiya’s little head an unhurried pat. When she spoke, her voice was “gentle” — and yet it sent a chill creeping down the spine.
“Be a good girl and listen to Auntie~, and nothing will happen to your big sister~”
