Volume 6, Chapter 57 – A Kiss Is the Prerequisite for Unleashing Power!

Several seconds earlier —

The sky above Wishaven had been stained dark violet and deathly white by the power of the two evil gods. The vast shadow of the World Serpent coiled through the cloud layer; the dragon might of the three-headed, six-winged dragon made the earth tremble without end.

Atop the rubble of the Lingyuan family’s main estate —

The Hurricane Dragon King, one of the Vassals of Sky’s five great Dragon Kings, hovered in the air. Feeling the crushing curse power pressure that could make heaven and earth lose their color, the suffocating humiliation of having been suppressed by Ailiya evaporated in an instant — replaced by a surge of ecstatic triumph.

“Ha ha ha!! You’re all finished!!”

The Hurricane Dragon King’s laugh was sharp and grating. Gales swept across the battlefield with his every howl as he fixed his gaze on the silver-haired girl nearby, her expression grave, and sneered with unbridled arrogance.

“With our King and Polarvitan joining forces… no matter how strong your Terrabond Lineage is!!! Today there’s no saving any of you!!! You’re dead!!! Ahahahahaha ha!!!”

In this moment, the Dragon King’s mind had already conjured the pathetic image of Gaia Lobir being struck down — and this Divine-Graced Maiden kneeling before him, begging for her life.

At that point —

This woman who had dared to sever his wings —

He would make sure to torture her to death. Slowly. Piece by piece.

“Ha ha ha ha!!”

But before that arrogant laughter had even faded — a streak of ice-blue afterimage suddenly split the void. The speed was extreme, pushing almost beyond the limits of visual perception.

The smile on the Hurricane Dragon King’s face froze instantly. A fatal chill swept in from behind him. Before he could even begin to summon his hurricane defenses, he found to his horror that Bai Lianyue had materialized directly in front of him — her long hair shifting between jade green and silver-white, snapping in the wind, her dark-red eyes completely still.

?!!!!

Terror flooded over the Dragon King in an instant.

“Wh—?! You, you’re… Gaia Lobir?!! What the hell?! How did you—”

The words never finished.

Snow Mercy blazed to life in Bai Lianyue’s hand, unleashing a fierce ice-blue sword light. The light flashed and was gone — no earth-shattering boom, no tremendous noise, only a clean, smooth line that appeared across the Hurricane Dragon King’s torso. The next instant, this peak Vassal Tier Dragon King was cleaved in two. Blood and viscera erupted outward, turning to a crimson mist in the air, and the hurricanes he had been controlling scattered and died in the same breath.

His body crashed to the ground with a heavy, dull thud — and that was the end of his brief, ridiculous taunting.

On the Dragon King’s severed head, the terror and bewilderment of his final moment still lingered.

Bai Lianyue did not linger for even a second. Her figure flickered again, and she appeared before Ailiya, who was half-kneeling on the ground catching her breath.

“Lian — Lianyue??”

Ailiya’s temples were damp with a fine sweat, the halo of her Augury Force rippling faintly — clearly bearing no small amount of strain under the pressure of two evil gods.

Finding Bai Lianyue suddenly appearing before her at a moment like this, Ailiya was caught off guard.

Deep surprise surfaced in her cherry-colored eyes.

“I’m sorry, Ai’er.”

Looking at the girl before her, Bai Lianyue smiled with a trace of apology.

Her voice was gentle, carrying a note of regret — yet also a quiet, unshakable resolve.

“Please. Help me.”

Before the words were even done, Bai Lianyue dipped forward, raised a hand to cup Ailiya’s face — and pressed her warm lips against hers without warning.

The moment her lips were captured, Ailiya’s body went slightly rigid, her eyes wide with shock.

After all, with two evil gods bearing down on them right now, the very last thing she had expected was for Bai Lianyue to kiss her.

But quickly —

The silver-haired girl understood exactly what Bai Lianyue intended.

Lianyue…

“Ah… I see…”

She relaxed at once. A gleam of understanding and fond indulgence passed through her cherry-colored eyes, without a trace of resistance.

As she accepted Bai Lianyue’s kiss, Ailiya’s Augury Force began to mobilize rapidly within her.

A sacred silver-white radiance poured out from Ailiya’s body.

Of course —

This power did not belong to Ailiya.

It belonged to the Heart of the World held within her.

That was right — after Bai Lianyue had dismantled House Solrog’s main base, Ailiya had taken possession of Earth’s Heart of the World and temporarily merged it into her own body.

Ailiya understood clearly.

To face two evil gods, even someone as powerful as Lianyue would have to go all-out.

And to keep her reason from being eroded by Corruption during a fight to the death against evil gods, Lianyue would need the purifying power of the Heart of the World.

In this moment, Ailiya was not about to be stingy.

A torrent of purifying power converged at Ailiya’s lips and flowed ceaselessly into Bai Lianyue through the point where their lips touched.

“So this is the first time Lianyue’s kissed me on her own initiative… enmm, it’s not quite what I imagined… but I suppose it’ll do.”

Ailiya couldn’t help muttering to herself inwardly.

The purifying radiance of the Heart of the World was gentle and immense at once, driving back the dense Corruption that permeated the surrounding area — even the curse power pressure in the air eased fractionally for a moment.

Bai Lianyue closed her eyes and greedily absorbed the power. The ice-blue curse power and the silver-white power of the Heart of the World wove together and fused within her, steadying her aura, and the desires, dark impulses, and madness that had been surging at the base of her mind were suppressed in an instant.

Her entire mind began to clear — with a clarity she had not felt in a long time.

And as her head cleared, the intensity of the aura around Bai Lianyue began to climb, step by step.

However —

This sight of Bai Lianyue replenishing herself in this manner, witnessed by Polarvitan, ignited the long-suppressed fury she had been holding back.

Are you kidding me?!!

We just unleashed our true forms and are going all-out?!!

And you, old hag, are over there kissing someone?!!

You’re not even taking us seriously!!

“Old hag!! You’ve gone too far!!”

The great serpent’s maw opened wide, and Polarvitan’s roar thundered across the battlefield. The World Serpent’s enormous eyes blazed with crimson fury.

“Don’t you dare underestimate us!!!”

The rage of betrayal. The hatred for humanity. The humiliation of having her arm severed by Snow Mercy. Every negative feeling Polarvitan had been carrying deep within her all came exploding out in this single moment 1 Can’t forget being cucked .

Polarvitan reared the great serpent’s head back. Purple-black curse power surged madly into her open maw, condensing into a colossal energy sphere dozens of zhang in diameter. The surface of the sphere was laced with ferocious curse power markings, radiating a terrifying aura capable of annihilating an entire city.

“Abyss Hex — Evil Sea Wave Cannon!!”

“Die!!”

With a screaming, unhinged roar of fury, the massive death ray — a fusion of pure curse power and the power of water — bore down on Bai Lianyue and Ailiya with world-ending force. Space itself was torn apart along its path, letting out a piercing, sizzling shriek. The rock and stone of the ground beneath it was reduced to dust in an instant; even light was swallowed by the terrible energy.

Yelena’s expression went rigid at the sight of it. The other Terrabond Lineage vassals’ eyes filled with grave alarm. The humans nearby who had barely managed to stay conscious turned white as sheets.

Every one of them understood.

If this strike landed… all of Wishaven — and everything within it — would be reduced to nothing.

Yet faced with this killing blow, Bai Lianyue slowly raised her head and ended the kiss with Ailiya.

The faint trace of a glow still lingered at the corner of her lips. A fleeting flush crossed her flawless face.

In the instant before Polarvitan’s death ray reached them, Bai Lianyue thrust her hand forward. Snow Mercy pointed directly at the oncoming energy sphere.

The next moment —

An absolute, bone-deep chill erupted from within Bai Lianyue and swept across the entire battlefield in a single breath. The death ray that could incinerate all things — the moment it touched that chill — visibly slowed, its surface rapidly encrusting with a thick layer of ice. Ice crystals spread at a visible speed, and within just a few seconds, the entire massive death ray had been frozen completely solid — an enormous pillar of ice suspended motionless in the air, unable to advance a single inch further.

Then Bai Lianyue flicked her wrist. Ice-blue sword light flashed once more, and the frozen death ray shattered into countless ice crystals — dissolving into a sky full of drifting ice shards, without causing so much as a scratch.

With the attack dealt with, Bai Lianyue gave Ailiya’s head a brief, gentle ruffle by way of reassurance — then slowly straightened up.

On her forehead, a pale-blue bellflower mark quietly appeared.

She stood before Ailiya, her posture upright, her long hair streaming behind her, dark-red eyes locked unwaveringly on the two evil gods in the distance.

“Polana. Ulutiel. This time — let’s settle things.”
