Volume 6, Chapter 59 – The Land Awakens
“Easier to deal with than I expected~”
?!!!!
“What?!”
Polarvitan’s eyes shrank to pinpoints the instant she heard those words.
The fury blazing in them surged even higher.
In the face of Polarvitan’s roar, Bai Lianyue simply shrugged it off, casting a mild glance at the two colossal entities blotting out the sky before her.
She had to admit — the two of them working together did press down on her with an overwhelming force, a pressure unlike anything she had faced before.
But the elven girl had quickly recognized something: their cooperation was also placing enormous constraints on each of them individually.
Because Polarvitan was there to consider, Ulutiel couldn’t unleash her terrifying curse flames freely — and her pale white death light, the kind that blanketed the earth without distinction, was something she didn’t dare use at all. By the same token, Polarvitan’s most fearsome technique — the Song of Disaster — was completely off the table, as it would deal devastating damage to Ulutiel as well.
All that mutual restraint had been giving her quite a few openings.
That said —
She had to acknowledge that the overall situation was still far from favorable.
“Fighting here… I’m constrained too. Need to change locations.”
The elven girl murmured to herself inwardly.
“Old hag?!! What do you mean?!! Looking like that, and you still have the nerve to bluff?!”
Polarvitan’s roar continued to crash across the battlefield.
The World Serpent twisted her massive body, poised to launch a charge straight at Bai Lianyue.

Bai Lianyue didn’t answer. She simply rolled the newly regenerated limbs once or twice, feeling the curse power inside her — slightly over-extended from earlier — and let a look of quiet resolve settle into her dark-red eyes. Then her gaze locked onto Polarvitan.
“Polana~”
“Hah?”
“Come catch me~”
The words fell — and she was already gone, spinning on her heel and streaking westward as a flash of ice-blue light, vanishing from Polarvitan’s sight in a single instant.
??!!
Damn it!!
“Don’t you run, old hag!!”
Polarvitan roared, and the great serpent’s body surged into motion, blazing fury propelling her in pursuit.
“Hey!! Seafood Sister! Wait!”
Ulutiel seemed to notice something off and tried to call Polarvitan back.
But Polarvitan in her serpent form, governed entirely by rage and the killing instinct, was well past the point of listening to Ulutiel. She thundered after Bai Lianyue with a howl.
Tsk.
This hothead…
Ulutiel’s three heads exchanged a glance. She clicked her tongue, gritted her teeth — and in the end snapped all six wings open and followed close behind. Golden holy light and chaotic white mist trailed long streaks in her wake.
And with the departure of three evil-god-tier presences, the ruined, half-annihilated city of Wishaven finally drew its first brief breath of reprieve.

Down on the ground —
Bracing herself on her staff, Yelena dragged herself upright. Her expression was grave as she gazed westward — in the direction of The Veiled Domain.
“So Big Sister is planning to… fight with her true body…”
In all of a thousand years —
This was the first time.
The three evil god figures split the sky, moving at extreme speed. The cloud layer tore apart in their wake. Air currents buckled and churned. The mountains and rivers far below trembled beneath the terrible pressure of their passage.
In mere dozens of seconds, Bai Lianyue had drawn the two evil gods to the airspace directly above the central core zone of The Veiled Domain.
The sky here was veiled in dark-blue rippling energy. The air was saturated with dense curse power and natural energy. Below stretched black mountain ranges in continuous rolling waves, and between the peaks ran strange rivers shimmering with an eerie phosphorescent glow. The nearby forests were composed of towering ancient trees, strange fruit hanging from their branches. The entire world breathed a primitive, unsettling wildness.
Bai Lianyue slowly came to a stop, hovering directly above the heart of The Veiled Domain’s central region, ice-blue curse power flowing gently around her as she recovered what the earlier battle and the high-speed flight had spent.
Polarvitan and Ulutiel caught up quickly, encircling her from left and right, their eyes full of wariness and fury.
“Why’d you stop running, old hag?!”
Polarvitan’s serpentine head pressed closer, her serpentine eyes brimming with mockery.
“Run out of energy? Can’t go any further?”
The middle of Ulutiel’s three dragon heads opened slowly, releasing a cold voice:
“Seafood Sister, don’t get smug — keep a proper guard up around us.”
Something seemed to feel wrong. Ulutiel issued the warning toward Polarvitan.
“Hmph…”

The Abyssal Lord let out a disdainful snort.
Burning with fury as she was, Polarvitan’s reason hadn’t been completely consumed. All three pairs of eyes narrowed slightly, that piercing gaze locking squarely onto Bai Lianyue.
“Coming all the way out here specifically — you want to get serious in this place, don’t you?”
“Oh? How did you know?”
Bai Lianyue tilted her head and smiled.
“Back in Wishaven, you were holding back because you were afraid of hurting your precious underlings. Out here you have nothing to worry about — isn’t that right? And besides…” A beat. “The form you take after you release your power — you wouldn’t want those people to see it, would you.”
Something seemed to surface — perhaps the memory of returning to her people’s territory in her evil god form all those years ago, and seeing the fear and revulsion in the eyes of the surviving kin who remained. A barely-perceptible flash of sorrow passed through Polarvitan’s serpentine eyes.
Faced with those words, Bai Lianyue gave a noncommittal nod.
“That’s right… But if you already figured that out — why did you follow me here?”
“Why? Obviously to defeat you head-on!!”
The World Serpent’s tongue flicked out, licking the blood from the corner of her maw. A bloodthirsty light flickered through her eyes.
“Stop looking down on people, always fighting in that damn human form! Stop holding back! Show us what you look like when you actually cut loose! I’m going to swallow you whole, piece by piece — let you feel what it’s like to be torn apart!”
In all the clashes of the past thousand years, one thing had become very clear to them.
Every time Bai Lianyue fought them, she was still holding something in reserve.
Beyond her human form, there was another mode of combat she had never revealed. Something like what Polarvitan and Ulutiel had themselves.
That form — in a thousand years, Bai Lianyue had never truly shown it.

This was one of the reasons Polarvitan’s fury toward Bai Lianyue ran so deep. After all, in a thousand years, this old hag had never once gone all-out against them — and that, frankly, felt like an insult.
On the other side — faced with the Abyssal Lord’s howling, Bai Lianyue simply shook her head with an easy calm. The smile at the corner of her mouth carried a faint, unhurried amusement.
“Swallow me whole? Tear me apart? You might find that a bit hard to stomach.”
“Hard to stomach? Old hag, there you go running your mouth again!”
Polarvitan’s fury tipped over into a sharp bark of laughter, purple-black curse power surging once more.
“There is nothing in this world I can’t swallow!!”
Polarvitan’s confidence was not unfounded. Her World Serpent form needed only a casual shift of her colossal body to effortlessly crush an entire city, flatten a mountain range. Even Ulutiel’s sky-blotting dragon form was nothing to speak of in comparison — at most, perhaps half of Polarvitan’s size.
“Hurry it up! Stop wasting my time!”
“Oh~”
Bai Lianyue replied mildly.
The very instant those words left her lips — the ground below in The Veiled Domain erupted in a world-shaking upheaval.
“Hm? What’s happening?” ×2
Under the bewildered stares of Polarvitan and Ulutiel — the previously rolling black mountain ranges began to shudder violently. The peaks cracked apart. Endless black liquid surged from the fissures like boiling magma, churning upward in great rolling waves. The black trees snapped and splintered, dissolving into black splinters that were swallowed into the dark tide. The eerily glowing rivers stopped flowing — and after a moment of writhing distortion, they too dissolved into surging black mud.
Boundless curse power surged outward like a tide in every direction.
And as that curse power continued to spread — the entire Veiled Domain came alive, all at once.
