Volume 6, Chapter 60 – The Wrongs I Committed, I Shall Redeem
On another front at the boundary of Wishaven.
“Clang!”
The clash of sword against war hammer sent a deafening metallic ring tearing through the air. The shockwaves born from colliding spiritual power and curse power shattered the ground beneath them, and the energy barriers along the city walls crumbled in kind.
The two figures at the center of the battle simultaneously leapt back, putting a hundred meters between them. Luo Fei wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his gaze still sharp:
“Hmph. Compared to a few months ago, you’ve gotten a lot worse, haven’t you? Ha.”
Across from him, Zhulan — second-in-command of the Vassals of Sky and Luo Fei’s opponent — let out a contemptuous snort. A vicious gleam flashed through his deep-blue pupils.
“Human… don’t get cocky. You just got lucky, that’s all.”
His words stayed hard, but the disdain that had marked his face at the start of the fight was long gone.
A few months ago, this head of the Lingyuan family had needed a Divine-Graced Maiden fighting alongside him just to keep pace. And now?
He could hold his own alone — even manage to gain a slight upper hand?
This man…
How had he grown so much stronger in just a few months?
…Doesn’t matter. However strong he’s gotten, if he stands against the King… he must die.
“Hmph.”
With a cold grunt, Zhulan flung his hand upward. Hundreds of curse power beams condensed into form, encircling Luo Fei from all sides.

But just as Zhulan moved to unleash his volley, an unexpected surge of energy slammed into his senses — powerful enough to make him stop dead, brow furrowing hard.
“…What is that?”
It was a pulse of energy so vast it felt suffocating.
As the shockwave spread outward, deep tremors rose from beneath the earth. The trembling at Wishaven’s boundary intensified sharply — several times more violent than anything the two of them had produced in battle. The ground split into deeper rifts. The clouds overhead churned, stirred by some invisible force, spiraling into a massive vortex.
Zhulan froze. His expression turned grave, his deep-blue pupils flooding with disbelief.
“This… what in the world is happening?!”
This surge of curse power was coming from The Veiled Domain. Its sheer intensity was alarming enough on its own — but the scale of it had blown past anything he could have anticipated.
It was as though the entirety of The Veiled Domain had been swallowed by rampaging Corrupted Beasts…
“Does the Terrabond Lineage actually have that many high-tier Corrupted Beasts hidden away?!”
Zhulan shot a wary glance in the direction of The Veiled Domain.
“Corrupted Beasts? You’re overthinking it.”
Luo Fei’s scornful voice drifted over from beside him.
“What do you mean?”
Zhulan glared daggers at him.
“Don’t you already know the answer? Why play dumb?”

Luo Fei’s voice was calm, carrying with it the quiet certainty of someone who has understood something for a long time.
“That disturbance is Blockhead Bai’s doing — no. The Terran Malevolence’s doing. As for why the scale is this enormous? The reason is simple.”
“…”
“Because The Veiled Domain itself… is the Terran Malevolence’s body.”
At that same moment, deep within The Veiled Domain —
The elven girl stood suspended high above the land. Her dark-crimson eyes were calm and still. The bellflower mark on her forehead blazed with radiant light. As the curse power within her surged without cease, The Veiled Domain below her came fully alive .
The rolling black mountain ranges, which had lain dormant like coiled serpents, now shuddered violently as if stirring from slumber. From their fissures, the black liquid that had once merely seeped and trickled now gathered into thundering rivers of darkness, streaming outward along the mountain ridges in every direction. The broken black trees erupted with new growth — their roots shooting upward like countless black tendrils tearing free from the earth, climbing and intertwining until they formed a vast forest that blotted out the sky.
The eerie, faintly luminescent rivers transformed into heaving black tidal waves, surging skyward to entangle with the writhing roots above, forming enormous black water columns within which countless Crimson Spectre Eyes flickered and pulsed, bleeding their unsettling red light into the air.
Farther across the plains, black vegetation erupted in wild growth — leaves sharp as blades, vines barbed with thorns, coiling and crossing in a frenzy until an endless thicket of black briars spread to the horizon. Within the briars, thousands of black buds burst open all at once, releasing dense waves of curse power that dissolved into the surrounding energy, forming a visible black curse-power field that expanded in all directions.
The earth itself was in motion. The black soil churned and boiled like lava. Countless black root-systems bored through the surface, wound around one another, and thrust toward the sky as enormous black hands. The entirety of The Veiled Domain had become a single enormous living thing — every inch of ground, every plant, every river awakening in that moment and becoming limbs beneath the will of Bai Lianyue…
It was a scene both magnificent and deeply unsettling — enough to shake the soul.
“What — what the hell is this?!”
Polarvitan’s World Serpent form involuntarily recoiled, and for the first time in a thousand years, something other than fury appeared in those serpentine eyes: fear.
Never in all her long centuries had Polarvitan witnessed a sight like this — an entire domain transformed into a weapon, all-encompassing, inescapable.

Not only the Abyssal Lord — even the Celestial Blight’s eyes were wide with astonishment. She too had been shaken by what lay before her.
“So this is what Elder Sister is capable of? This is… truly wonderful~”
“You old hag… you…”
Polarvitan ground her teeth, her violet-black curse power surging furiously.
“Hmph! So what if you’re big?! Don’t think for a second I’m afraid of you!”
She roared, as much to bolster herself as anything else.
Before the words had even left her, she wrenched her enormous serpentine maw open wide. A beam of violet-black curse power — several times thicker than anything she had fired before — condensed into form, carrying with it a world-annihilating ferocity, and slammed downward into the black floodwaters below.
—”Ulutiel!! What are you standing around for?!”—
Through ripples of curse power, Polarvitan sent a sharp signal to Ulutiel.
“Heheh, I know, I know.”
The next instant, Ulutiel launched her own assault — vast wings beating as countless white spheres of light condensed around her body before screaming downward.
“Boom! Boom!”
Two tremendous detonations erupted. Fire billowed skyward. The two evil gods’ curse bombardment tore through massive swaths of the black floodwaters. Ruinous breath, the serpent’s thrashing tail, the dragon’s raking claws — all of it smashed and shattered countless black trees. And yet the black mud that had been blown apart quickly reformed; the shattered trees regrew from their roots with new trunks even thicker and more densely packed than before.
“It’s useless.”
Bai Lianyue murmured softly, and then slowly raised her right hand. Her fingers snapped shut into a fist.

—Hmm—
At her motion, the upheaval throughout The Veiled Domain intensified all at once. The black mud overhead coalesced instantly into countless massive black waves, pouring in from every direction toward the two evil gods. The endless black briars, barbed and grasping, surged forward like a tide — the Crimson Spectre Eyes embedded within them flickering crimson, radiating a bloodthirsty aura. The root-systems of the black trees stretched and thrust outward like vast black serpents, coiling toward the bodies of the two evil gods.
Bai Lianyue’s curse power presence reached its apex in that moment. It manifested as a tangible field that blanketed all of The Veiled Domain, bearing down hard enough to suppress both Polarvitan and Ulutiel’s curse power. The flow of their energies grew sluggish; their wild, ferocious power faltered and dimmed.
At the same time, vast quantities of a special pollen dispersed across the heavens and earth. The particles drifted along the currents of the two evil gods’ curse power, slipping silently into their bodies — and the moment they did, both lurched rigid.
“Damn it! That paralyzing garbage again…!”
Furious at the creeping numbness spreading through her body, Polarvitan let out a raging howl. She fought the pollen’s erosion with everything she had, writhing and twisting her World Serpent body to smash through one towering black wave after another — but more waves came crashing in without pause, swallowing her whole. Ulutiel’s six wings beat in frantic desperation; three-colored breath blasted into the briars and root-systems again and again, but there were simply too many, dense and endless, impossible to destroy.
The black briars reached Ulutiel first, coiling around her dragon form. The thorns punched deep through her scales, and blood poured forth instantly. The searing agony tore a shriek from Ulutiel’s throat. She tried to detonate the briars with curse power, only to find that they carried tremendous binding force — they clung to her, impossible to shed.
Polarvitan’s World Serpent body was engulfed next, black roots and mud closing in from all sides. The roots punched through her scales and burrowed into flesh; the mud clung to her like viscous glue, constricting her movements. She blasted curse power beams in every direction, obliterating masses of roots and mud — only for still more to surge in and fill the gaps.
The black mud, the briars, the roots — endless, relentless, inexhaustible.
And all the while, the pollen’s erosion chipped steadily away at the two evil gods’ strength. Every counterattack drained more of their own curse power, their strikes growing weaker with each exchange…
After dozens of minutes of brutal, grinding battle —
Polarvitan’s World Serpent body had been pierced through by countless black roots; the black mud had locked her in midair, immovable. Ulutiel was no better off — her dragon form was bound fast by black briars that had punched through her wings and torso, all three of her heads hanging low and limp, the golden holy light and chaotic white mist around her faded to a dim flicker.
Bai Lianyue drifted in the high air, looking down at the two evil gods pinned helpless in the void. Something rare surfaced in her dark-crimson eyes — a trace of guilt.
—”Your existence was itself a mistake. A wrong that I committed. Since I am the one who erred… then now — I will be the one to make it right.”—
