Volume 6, Chapter 68 – Valerdis Brought Under Control
“I’m not entirely sure what happened either…… but at any rate, a little of my strength has come back.”
The elf girl said it lightly.
As the words left her mouth, ice-blue curse power surged like a rushing stream through her shattered legs.
“ Hmmm——— “
The curse power enveloped her twisted, broken legs, resonating with a low hum. The fractured bones drew back together under its guidance, emitting a series of sharp crack-crack sounds as they realigned. Fresh flesh and skin grew rapidly over the exposed bone and blood — like new shoots unfurling — sealing everything beneath. In a matter of breaths, the legs that had been broken apart inch by inch were completely restored, as though nothing had ever happened.
Not just her legs — the wounds Ulutiel had inflicted on her abdomen and elsewhere healed alongside them.
With her power returned, the Terran Malevolence’s formidable vitality made itself felt in full.
“ ROARRR! “
The Colossal Water Spirit beside her let out a deafening roar at the sight of Bai Lianyue’s recovery. Combat instinct drove its enormous palm — surging with water element — crashing downward toward her again.
Bai Lianyue’s eyes sharpened. Her right hand gripped the bloodstained White Horizon Sword, and ice-blue curse power erupted along the blade, drawing a brilliant arc of light in the moonlight. No wasted movement — she simply turned her body sideways and swung.
One clean, lethal motion.
“ Hah! “
Where the sword light passed, the water-element Colossal Water Spirit split apart as cleanly as a block of ice meeting a blade. Its enormous form shattered into a shower of droplets that struck the ground and dissolved into mist — nothing left behind but faint traces of water vapor and residual curse power.
With the Colossal Water Spirit dealt with, Bai Lianyue’s body swayed. She bit down on her lip. Visible pallor spread across her face.
The returned power was strong — but it was not a full recovery. The lingering weakness from having her strength drained, the aftershock of pain from her broken legs, and the curse Ulutiel had been feeding into her body continued to bear down on her all at once.
So —
Bai Lianyue let out a muffled groan. One knee dropped to the ground. The White Horizon Sword hung from her hand, tip resting against the earth, propping up a body that was threatening to give out. Her chest heaved violently. Her breathing turned ragged.

It seemed this was only a partial recovery. And beyond that……
Her gaze flicked sideways to the motionless earth of The Veiled Domain nearby. Bai Lianyue narrowed her eyes slightly.
The body of earth was still beyond her control.
Her current state was…… not good.
“Damn it…… she actually recovered……”
Polarvitan looked at Ulutiel’s head, still faintly twitching in her hands, then looked back at Bai Lianyue — down on one knee, but still radiating danger. The shock in her eyes slowly gave way to cold ferocity.
But recovered or not — this old woman had clearly not made a full recovery……
There was still a chance.
The moment that realization hit, Polana slammed Ulutiel’s head back down onto her collapsed body. The severed flesh and blood writhed and fused together like living tissue, ghostly white curse power weaving frantically as it worked to reconnect head to body.
“Get up, you little bitch!! Now!!”
Polana snarled under her breath, her own water-element curse power beginning to surge. The terrifying pulse of her aura filled the air between heaven and earth once more.
“Mm…… Big Sister really does keep surprising people, doesn’t she……heh heh.”
Ulutiel remarked with languid amusement —
and as she spoke, her head had already reattached itself to her body.
That sick smile still played at the corners of her lips. The deep-blue slit pupils rekindled. As curse power gathered within her, her bare body began to tremble slightly. The dragon tail unfurled once more at her back. Ghostly white flames reignited around her. Ulutiel’s characteristic pale-white curse power radiated outward.
Gone, however, was the ease and leisure she had worn before. Her expression had turned grave.

“Something seems to have gone wrong over there.”
“Yes, it must have.”
“So what do we do?”
“We go all-out. What else can we do? At least the old woman still seems to be in poor shape.”
“Understood.”
After that brief exchange, the two evil gods reached their agreement. Surging curse power began to concentrate in their chests.
Clearly, the two of them intended to enter their transformed states once more.
Bai Lianyue raised her head and looked at the two evil gods preparing to transform. Her dark-red eyes narrowed slightly.
“ Dream on. “
The moment she understood their intent, Bai Lianyue gritted her teeth and unleashed the last of the curse power she had left. Her body shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bowstring. Her speed, though reduced by her weakened state, was still startling — a long trail of ice-blue afterimages streaking out behind her.
Polana, who had been beginning to gather power to transform into the World Serpent, felt her pupils snap tight at the sight.
“ What the hell!! Shouldn’t you wait for us to finish transforming before coming at us?!!”
“Who waits for that?!”
Bai Lianyue shot back with contempt.
The next instant —
Wreathed in ice-blue curse power, she crossed the distance to Polarvitan in a heartbeat, arriving before her like a meteor. The White Horizon Sword in her hand carried a piercing, bone-deep chill as she drove it forward without hesitation——

“ Spltt! “
The blade punched clean through Polarvitan’s chest. Ice-blue curse power poured through the sword tip into her body, ravaging her curse power channels in a frenzy. Polarvitan’s body seized up. Her violet eyes filled with disbelieving agony and helpless fury. Black blood seeped from the corner of her mouth. The water-element curse power that had been building inside her collapsed entirely.
“You……”
Polana managed, barely.
She didn’t finish. Bai Lianyue swung a kick straight into Polana’s face and sent her flying.
Without pausing for a single moment, Bai Lianyue spun around and swung the sword. The blade carved a crescent arc through the air——
“ Ah! “
Ulutiel — who had only just finished reconnecting her head and hadn’t yet released her power — was cut clean in half at the waist. Upper body separated from lower in an instant. Black blood sprayed. The ghostly white flames snuffed out. Her upper half hit the ground, and those deep-blue slit pupils were still wide with astonishment.
“Big Sister…… so decisive……”
Meanwhile, in Robusta Wildwood Canyon……
Or rather — Robusta Basin, as it should be called now.
The sharp sound of strikes and wretched sobbing broke through the basin’s deathly silence.
“ Smack! Smack! Smack! “
Ailiya’s palm came down without mercy on Weiya’s rounded backside. Her Augury Force wrapped around each strike, carrying a powerful numbing sensation — not enough to cause serious injury, but delivering the pain with perfect clarity all the same.
Bound in golden chains, Weiya’s eyes — which had been blazing crimson — slowly faded back to the orange-red that was natural to her as a child. Crystalline tears clung to the corners of those eyes. The pitiful sobbing growing louder and louder, no longer the hoarse, distorted sounds of before.
“ Wuu…… wuu wuu…… Sister…… it hurts…… I was wrong…… “

As her crying grew, the crimson ceremonial dress on Weiya’s body began to disintegrate piece by piece, dissolving into black mist that dispersed — replaced by a clean little white dress, the everyday children’s clothing she normally wore.
The raging pulse of her curse power receded at a visible rate.
Weiya’s aura dropped from her earlier half-step evil god level all the way back down to around the Fourth Tier……
Right after that —
Weiya, still in her adolescent form, shrank down at a speed visible to the naked eye — and reverted back to her small child form.
Moreover, the spine-chilling crimson eyeball that had been clinging to Weiya’s shoulder — Valerdis — had dimmed without the Corruption power sustaining it. The blood-red veins on its surface began to recede. It could no longer manipulate Weiya’s body.
“Good. Knowing you were wrong is what matters.”
Ailiya stopped. Looking at her little sister restored to her small, delicate self, the playfulness faded from her eyes, replaced by tender, protective warmth.
“Are you going to listen to your sister from now on? Are you ever going to pull something like this again?”
“N…… no……I won’t……”
Weiya hiccupped between sobs, orange-red eyes brimming with grievance.
“Never again…… wuu wuu wuu…… Sister, I was wrong……”
Having confirmed that the murderous intent and frenzy were gone from her little sister’s eyes, Miss Ailiya gave a satisfied nod.
Then —
Ailiya let the tenderness drain from her expression. She reached up abruptly and pinched the crimson eyeball between her fingers. Golden Augury Force wrapped around it like a red-hot brand, clamping down tight — and Valerdis let out a wail of pure anguish that seemed to tear the very air apart.
——”Now then. It’s time to settle accounts with you.”——
