Volume 6, Chapter 70 – The Sinister Force That Intervenes in the Battle
The central region of The Veiled Domain.
“Shhk——————”
An ice-blue sword light cleaved through the sky like a blade cutting through darkness.
After slicing apart Polana’s water-escape barrier, it descended with precision upon the Siren girl’s crown, splitting her body clean in two from top to bottom. Black blood sprayed outward, splattering across the scorched earth, her water-element curse power collapsing in an instant and dissolving into vaporous mist that filled the air.
The moment she bisected Polana, Bai Lianyue gritted her teeth and immediately spun around, hurling the White Horizon Sword outward.
Every last scrap of concentrated curse power remaining in her body surged into the blade — it tore through Ulutiel’s half-transformed draconic claw and punched deep into her chest.
“BOOM!”
After the dull, thunderous impact, Ulutiel’s chest — shielded behind her pale white flame armor — was blown open into a grotesque, gaping hole. The pale flames snuffed out in an instant. She coughed up a mouthful of black blood and was sent hurtling backward like a kite with its string cut, crashing hard into the ground.
With that, Bai Lianyue’s curse power was almost entirely spent.
She let out a muffled groan. Her legs buckled, and she dropped to one knee. The White Horizon Sword flew back and struck the earth beside her, letting out a low, mournful hum .
The elf girl’s pale cheeks had drained of all color. Blood seeped continuously from the corner of her mouth. The lily-of-the-valley mark on her forehead had dimmed to near-invisibility, and even her breathing had grown shallow and ragged.
She could feel it clearly — the power within her was ebbing away at a terrifying rate, like a tide rushing out to sea. The portion that had flowed back into her earlier had long since been burned up in the fighting. Ulutiel’s soul flame still lingered inside her, ceaselessly corroding her meridians; every breath she drew dragged searing pain through her organs.
“Ha…… ha……”
Bai Lianyue gasped for air. Her vision was blurring at the edges, yet she still clung to the White Horizon Sword with an iron grip, trying to force herself upright on sheer willpower alone.

This opportunity……
Once in a thousand years.
Can’t let it slip……
And given the state of this body…… who knows what’ll happen next time…… This time…… I need to finish it. Move. Move! Hold on just a little longer — just a little!
Meanwhile, on the other side — neither the bisected Polana nor the chest-blown Ulutiel had actually died.
The vitality of evil gods simply could not be compared to that of ordinary living beings. Purple-black and pale-white curse power surged like a tide from their ravaged bodies. Severed flesh wriggled and knit itself back together at a furious pace, wrapped in layers of that pulsing energy.
An instant later, Polana’s two halves slowly pressed back together. The sundered flesh grew wildly at the seam, and her purple eyes flickered back to life.
But now, those eyes held none of their earlier ferocity — only a deep, bone-deep exhaustion.
She lay face-down against the ground, chest heaving violently, without even the strength to lift her arms. She could only seethe through ragged breaths, her frustration palpable:
“Damn it…… that old hag…… still had this much left in her…… That Renoval…… he said something completely different…… Damn it…… huff, huff……”
The Siren girl clenched her fist and muttered through gritted teeth, seething with fury.
On the other side, Ulutiel lay sprawled on the ground as the enormous hole in her chest slowly closed, leaving behind a brutal scar. The sickly light still flickered in her pale-blue, slit pupils as she watched Bai Lianyue kneeling nearby, unable to rise. A strange smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.
“Big Sister…… is truly formidable…… to have pushed me this far…… Hehe, as expected…… there is no one else in this world who could do this……”
She seemed completely indifferent to her own weakened state. Instead, she wallowed in the twisted pleasure of being “loved by Big Sister,” her very breathing trembling with contentment.

Bai Lianyue heard Ulutiel’s words and her brow furrowed slightly.
A flash of disgust crossed her dark-red eyes.
Not that it was surprising. After a thousand years of this, she knew exactly what manner of warped psychology lurked inside Ulutiel — so Bai Lianyue didn’t bother to say anything.
The elf girl gritted her teeth and pressed down with her arm, trying to haul her heavy body upright. Even if only a last sliver of strength remained, she would drag both of these creatures away with her.
Watching Bai Lianyue rise and begin to walk toward them, step by step, Polarvitan bit her lip in helpless indignation and tried to stand to resist.
But her body had already far exceeded its limits and refused to comply — she couldn’t even marshal her curse power.
Polana, too, was at the end of her rope.
Ulutiel, by contrast, didn’t even struggle. She simply wore an anticipatory expression and watched Bai Lianyue approach with a kind of cheerful serenity.
“Going somewhere with Big Sister…… hehe…… perhaps that isn’t such a bad ending either……”
And so, under two vastly different gazes, Bai Lianyue staggered forward — one lurching step at a time — toward Polana and Ulutiel.
But just as she was pushing with everything she had, drawing ever closer — the last thin thread of power remaining inside her was swallowed by an invisible black void and vanished in an instant.
“Ugh……”
Bai Lianyue’s body sank. She could no longer hold herself up.

She crashed to her knees with her full weight, both hands braced against the earth, her knuckles white from the effort. Her vision went completely dark. A droning buzz filled her ears. Maintaining consciousness itself had become a struggle. She could only stare, helpless, at the two evil gods not far away — without a single shred of strength left to press an attack.
My body……
What……
What is this……
Why now of all times?
Bitterness and unwilling frustration were written plainly across the elf girl’s face.
On the other side, Polana caught sight of the scene. Her eyes narrowed sharply.
This…… could it be……? Hahaha…… old hag, so you really are done for, aren’t you?
The moment she sensed Bai Lianyue’s condition, Polana rallied instantly. Still splayed on the ground, she couldn’t help herself:
“You were all bluster just a moment ago — hahaha! If you’ve run dry, drop the act already! Hahaha! Just kneel right there and be good about it!!”
The Siren girl’s voice dripped with the vicious delight of someone who had just clawed back from humiliation.
Bai Lianyue was clearly in no state to recover her power anytime soon.
And if they could rest just a little longer — both she and Ulutiel would regain a significant portion of their strength.
Even the faintest thread of recovered power would be enough to make this “Big Sister” pay dearly.

Beside her, a trace of disappointment surfaced on Ulutiel’s face.
But before Polana could finish her taunting, the grin froze on her lips.
——!!
Huh?!
“HMMM————!”
The next moment — under Polana’s bewildered stare — the earth beneath her feet erupted into violent tremors. The Veiled Domain’s ground, which had been still for some time, abruptly split apart into countless dense fissures. Black mud gushed forth like boiling magma. Thick black thorns burst out from the cracks in every direction, bristling with barbed hooks, spreading relentlessly outward.
“What?! What’s going on?”
Wasn’t the old hag out of power? Why is she suddenly controlling the earth again?! Was she faking it?
Polana turned her bewildered stare on Bai Lianyue, whose expression had gone deadly serious — and Polana’s mind erupted with question marks.
And in the very next instant —
Before the Abyssal Lord could even react, several black thorns as thick as a person’s arm shot out like striking vipers, tearing through the air with a ferocious howl and burying themselves through Polana’s body with lethal precision——
Polana: ??!!
“Eh?”
