Volume 2, Chapter 9 – The Twins Accidentally Trigger Something Strange~
“Huff~ Huff~”
After a strenuous climb, the relatively “delicate” little Weiya finally made it to the top of the hill. Watching her sister Miya, who was still full of energy and bouncing around excitedly, Weiya couldn’t help but smile fondly.
As expected of Miya,
Even after playing all day, she’s still so lively.
Whew~
But, come to think of it?
Slowly raising her head, Weiya looked ahead.
There stood a towering metal tower. The tower was thick and had a highly futuristic design, though its surface was covered in mottled rust. The tower was riddled with intricate pipes and wires, as if it were once a high-tech marvel, now eroded by time into a shadow of its former self.
Some parts of the tower were severely deformed, with cracks in the metal revealing rusted iron bones beneath.
The top of the tower, which once likely glowed, was now dark, its indicator lights long extinguished. Instead, the wind whistled through, producing an eerie metallic screech.
Looking at the crumbling metal tower, Weiya felt a sense of familiarity.
Pinching her chin and thinking for a moment, a glint of realization flashed in her eyes.
“Sis, haven’t we been here before?”
The girl asked softly.
Since Mom was often asleep and Ailiya was always busy with training and studying, the twins were mostly left unsupervised (Octopus Girl: Hey! Did you two forget about me?!).
Bored out of their minds, the twins had explored almost every corner of the outskirts of the Forsaken Metropolis Visas over the years. After some careful recollection, Weiya recognized this tower—they had visited it two years ago.
It was a dull and uninteresting place.
Soon,
Weiya’s guess was confirmed by Miya.
“Yeah, we’ve been here before!” Miya nodded with a grin, still bouncing around.

“Then why are we back here?”
Weiya asked, puzzled.
“Hehe, because these past couple of nights, I noticed some strange white lights flashing here! There must be some treasure hidden here now!” Miya declared confidently.
“……”
Hearing this, Weiya frowned in confusion.
Logically speaking, she was practically inseparable from her sister.
Whether they were playing, training, eating, bathing, or sleeping, they were always together.
But?
She didn’t remember seeing any lights here at night.
However, considering that her sister wouldn’t lie to her, Weiya decided not to press further. Instead, she expressed skepticism about the existence of any “treasure.”
“Treasure? But we’ve been here before and didn’t find anything.”
“That was back then! Who knows if there’s something here now? You know how Octopus Girl likes to hide things everywhere—maybe she stashed something good here!”
As she spoke, the stars in Miya’s blue eyes seemed to shine even brighter.
Hearing this, Weiya also felt a spark of interest.
Enmm,
That’s true, isn’t it?
We found the game console, comics, and snacks that way before.
This place is remote and boring, and we usually don’t come here… so it’s not impossible that the pink octopus hid something here, right?
Since we’re already here, why not take a look?
“Okay, let’s check it out.”
With that, the two little ones quickly got to work, searching around the tower for any signs of Octopus Girl’s hidden treasures~

Then,
Ten minutes passed.
The twins didn’t find any of Octopus Girl’s signature hiding marks.
However, they weren’t entirely empty-handed. On the back of the metal tower, they discovered a strange little pedestal.
“Enmm, what’s this?” Miya curiously examined the pedestal, which was about her height.
“Weiya, Weiya, was this here last time we came?”
“No.”
Weiya shook her head without hesitation. Compared to her carefree sister, Weiya, who paid attention to details and had an excellent memory, was certain.
This thing definitely wasn’t here before.
Looking at the pedestal and the red button on top, Weiya pouted, feeling uneasy.
Her intuition told her… something was off.
Looking up at the tower ahead, the little girl narrowed her eyes.
She had a bad feeling.
“Miya, something feels wrong. Let’s leave for now.”
After a brief moment of thought, Weiya turned to her sister with a serious expression.
“Oh, and whatever you do, don’t press that button… Huh??”
However, before she could finish her warning, Weiya nearly choked in frustration as she realized…
Her twin sister had already eagerly pressed the button.
?!?
“What the—?! Miya, what are you doing?!”

After a brief moment of stunned blinking, Weiya shouted in panic.
I,
I only looked away for a few seconds! How did you press it so fast?! This button is obviously suspicious—didn’t you have any caution at all?!
For a moment, Weiya felt like she was about to have a meltdown.
Meanwhile, Miya, who had pressed the button, was completely oblivious.
Instead, she replied to her sister’s question as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“Pressing the button, duh~ What’s the point of a button if you don’t press it?”
As she spoke, Miya looked around excitedly.
Clearly, in Miya’s mind, this button was the gateway to a treasure trove.
As for why she thought that…
Isn’t that how it always is in comics?
You press a button, and the treasure vault opens! Then they’d find all sorts of fun stuff!
“Weiya, Weiya! We’re gonna strike it rich!” Miya couldn’t help but jump up and down, excitedly telling her sister.
“Miya…”
Hearing her sister’s naive response, Weiya was speechless, her eyebrows twitching in frustration.
Pouting, a look of exasperation appeared on Weiya’s little face.
However, just as the little girl was about to scold her sister,
The ground suddenly began to tremble.
“Boom!”
Weiya: ??!
Amidst the rumbling, the entire hilltop seemed to awaken as if stirred by an invisible force, shaking violently. The metal tower, already on the verge of collapse from years of decay, began to emit a dazzling blue light. The rust on its surface seemed to vanish instantly, and the cracked metal began to repair itself. The dormant pipes now hummed with a low, resonant energy as blue light flowed through them.

In the next moment, a brilliant blue beam shot out from the top of the tower, piercing the sky. The beam tore through the heavy clouds, dyeing the sky a dreamlike blue. The light exploded high above, like fireworks, but instead formed a massive, precise cross. The cross was vivid and clear, as if it were a physical object, radiating a solemn and sacred glow that illuminated the entire sky.
Miya and Weiya stood frozen in place, their hair and dresses fluttering in the wind as the dazzling blue light bathed their faces in an otherworldly glow.
“What on earth is this?”
Staring at the towering beam of light and feeling the purifying energy emanating from it, Weiya instinctively trembled.
At the same time,
The moment the beam shot into the sky, Bai Lianyue, who was preparing lunch for the twins, suddenly shuddered. The plate in her hands fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
In the next instant,
A sharp pain shot through her chest, causing Bai Lianyue’s legs to give out. She collapsed to her knees, clutching her chest tightly.
“Big Sis! What’s wrong?!”
Seeing this, Serveiling rushed forward in concern, kneeling beside Bai Lianyue.
However, Bai Lianyue didn’t answer Serveiling’s question. Instead, she endured the pain and shakily raised her head, looking out the window at the towering beam of light in the distance.
After her battle with Ulutiel years ago, Bai Lianyue had used too much of her Malevolence power. The side effect was that she had lost even more of her memories…
But that beam of light? It was still firmly etched in the Terran Malevolence’s mind.
“The Dawn Dominion Pillar…”
A weapon she and her comrades had created a thousand years ago to suppress the outbreak of corruption.
Why had it suddenly activated now, when it had long been abandoned?
However, Bai Lianyue didn’t have time to think too deeply about it. Gritting her teeth, she spoke with urgency.
“Quick, destroy… that tower…”
Otherwise,
The situation inside Visas would be exposed to the outside world……………
