Chapter 1818

After a while, the two little dragons came to a conclusion. The older one said, "You're an assassin from Prude Pavilion, right? If so, of course we know why you're in the Great Swamp. "

Gu Chen was surprised to hear this, but he soon came to his senses. "Could it be that you're the employer of this mission?!"

"That's right. My clan asked you to kill that golden crocodile. We're afraid that you'll go astray, so we're keeping an eye on you in secret," the little dragon answered.

Even the target of the mission was the golden crocodile. Gu Chen no longer had any doubts, but he couldn't help but have a new question. "Since you're the employer, why are you hiding? Just lead the way for us …"

Gu Chen stopped mid-sentence. He realized that the reason for their secretiveness had something to do with their clan's sensitive identity.

"You've guessed it, haven't you? Now you know what's going on? My clan hired you here at a high price to solve the problem of the golden crocodile, not to become our enemy. Let us go now! "the little dragon said, gritting its teeth.

Gu Chen didn't answer for a while and fell into deep thought.

If that was the case, then he'd been wrong from the start.

He'd thought that Prude Pavilion was up to something, but it turned out that the employer was the one following them.

It was normal that the employer didn't want to reveal his identity. This clan might have some secrets, but it had nothing to do with them.

If there was no problem with Prude Pavilion, then this dream-level mission was worth completing. It would be beneficial to his plans in Prude Pavilion. It was simple. Complete the mission and advance!

However, now that he knew the employer's identity, things weren't so simple.

Gu Chen felt like he'd shot himself in the foot. His cleverness had backfired on him.

If he killed the two little dragons, their clan would definitely track them down. If they traced it back to him, then even if he successfully killed the golden crocodile, if the employer objected, his mission wouldn't be considered complete. At least, his rating would be lower than that of other assassins.

And if he didn't kill the two little dragons, they would never allow him to leak their information, judging from how they kept their identities a secret. Therefore, once he let them go, he might be hunted down by the entire clan in this Great Swamp of Antiquity!

It was originally a one-way mission, but he had made it complicated. Gu Chen felt a headache coming on.

Unable to decide what to do with the two little dragons, Gu Chen simply knocked them out and threw them into the space inside his body.

What the two little dragons said might not be true. It was better to meet up with Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex and verify its situation before deciding what to do.

Returning to the surface of the water, Gu Chen used his heart to sense the location of the Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex. Then, he leaped onto a branch and chased after it.

Chasing after Xiaolong had taken up a lot of time. He did not know how Householder Peach Blossom and the others were progressing.

There were no more prying eyes along the way, and Gu Chen didn't know if this was a good or bad thing.

The disappearance of the two little dragons could not be kept a secret for too long. That clan might very quickly link it to him.

Half a day later, an earth-shattering roar suddenly came from ahead, accompanied by a strong fluctuation of Dao energy!

Gu Chen's expression turned cold. He felt a monstrous Demonic Qi. Could it be that Householder Peach Blossom and the others had already made a move on the Golden Godly Crocodile?

Quickly approaching the source of the commotion, Gu Chen soon saw an incomparably huge Golden Godly Crocodile from afar!

Its body was at least three thousand feet long, and its entire body looked as if it was made of gold. A casual sweep of its powerful tail would set off a violent airflow in the swamp, and countless trees would be snapped!

Householder Peach Blossom, Lady Storm, Tu Xiong, the Whisperer, and the Craftsman surrounded it and attacked it with all their might. A few of them were already injured, and the situation did not look good.

Gu Chen stopped on a branch, and not far away, a figure quickly flew over.

It was Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex. It followed the group without attracting any attention, and had been waiting for Gu Chen to return.

"How was it?" Gu Chen asked while staring at the battlefield.

"There were indeed people following us, and I recognized them." Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex's expression was clearly a little gloomy.

"Oh? Did you fight with them? "Gu Chen asked.

"I didn't fight, but I recognized their aura. Their unique ability is also not difficult to recognize," Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex said.

"What are their identities?" Gu Chen did not bat an eyelid.

"Hidden Dragon Clan! Master, do you remember I told you that they are one of the 78 King Bloodlines of the Dinosaur Clan? "

Gu Chen nodded. The Dinosaur Clan was once the overlord of the Ancient Underworld Era, and at its peak, there were over a hundred thousand of them.

And among the hundred thousand of them, the strongest were the 78 King Bloodlines.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex Clan was the leader of the 78 King Bloodlines, and they truly flourished for a time. Unfortunately, as they moved into the Dao World, and with the passage of time, the Dinosaur Clan gradually weakened, and the 78 King Bloodlines also gradually declined. Some of them even went extinct.

Gu Chen had once asked about the whereabouts of the 78 King Bloodlines, but Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex did not know much at that time.

"The Hidden Dragon Clan is one of the 78 King Bloodlines. Rumor has it that this clan has long been extinct. I didn't expect them to be hiding in the Desolate Ancient Swamp all this time!" Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex lamented.

"If you communicate with them, can you turn enemies into friends?" Gu Chen did not appear too surprised. Instead, he pondered.

"Turn enemies into friends?" Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex stared blankly. Only then did it recall that Gu Chen had said before that he wanted to capture the spies in the dark.

"Master, have you already made a move?" Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex asked hurriedly.

Gu Chen did not deny it. He recounted the process of capturing the two little dragons.

"So the Hidden Dragon Clan was the one who hired Modest Pavilion. The Hidden Dragon Clan has already weakened to this extent. Do they still need the help of outsiders to deal with that Golden Crocodile?" Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex murmured after listening, a sorrowful look on its face.

Gu Chen knew what it was thinking. As one of the 78 King Bloodlines, it was inevitable that the Tyrannosaurus Rex would be moved if it was the only Tyrannosaurus Rex left, and the Hidden Dragon Clan had also fallen to such a state.

"I overheard the two little dragons' private conversation. There seems to be something going on within the Hidden Dragon Clan. Also, the Hidden Dragon Clan is hiding in the Great Desolate Swamp, not daring to let anyone know. There must be a reason for this, right? "Gu Chen said in a low voice.

"This matter should have something to do with the Hidden Dragon Clan's innate talent."

Infinite Tyrannosaurus Rex sighed. It had the inherited memories left behind by its ancestors, so it could more or less guess the situation.

"The Hidden Dragon Clan is born with terrifying invisibility abilities, and they also have speed and agility that normal Dinosaur Clans do not have. In addition, they are also extraordinarily intelligent. They are natural scouts and assassins.

"Rumor has it that a powerful force had their eyes on the Hidden Dragon Clan and wanted to obtain their power. However, the Hidden Dragon Clan swore to die and refused, which ultimately led to their extinction.

"Now that we have seen it with our own eyes, it seems that the Hidden Dragon Clan was not truly extinct. Instead, they hid in the Great Desolate Swamp to avoid disaster!

"Who knows how long they have been hiding in the Great Desolate Swamp. For a long time, no one in the outside world actually knew about it!"
