Chapter 81

"My target is the fossil tooth of the ancient Savage Beast, the White Whale. What about you?"

The little girl blinked her eyes.

Gu Chen revealed his target.

"That's it? Are you sure? It should be one of the lowest value items in the auction. "

The little girl was shocked. She thought about it carefully and revealed a sympathetic expression.

"That's right. The other items are all fought over by experts, so this one is a little less competitive. But since I want to cooperate with you, I will naturally protect you. Don't worry, just pick something better. "

She had a forthright look on her face. Gu Chen shook his head. "I want this thing. If you agree, we can work together."

"You're really a weirdo. This way, I'll gain quite a bit. It's a deal."

"I'm Xu Huahua. What about you?"

The little girl enthusiastically extended her hand.

"Chen Gu."

…

Beside the low-lying lake, a long building stood erect.

There was a sentry every three steps outside the building, and a large number of guards patrolled the area.

About half a kilometer away, on a hillside with an excellent view, Gu Chen gazed into the distance and took in everything around the building.

"Are you sure we don't need to enter the auction hall? If that's the case, how are we going to lock onto the auction item? "

Gu Chen looked at Xu Huahua beside him.

They had arrived at the Whale Alliance's black market auction rather late. Many candidates had already snuck in and were ready to make their move.

"Don't worry. Just leave the task of locating the auction item to my puppet. Your task is to finish off your prey with one arrow when it appears."

"As long as your archery skills are fine, we'll be the best team."

Xu Huahua raised her little face, full of confidence.

"Then I'll trust you this once."

Gu Chen nodded. Xu Huahua grinned and took out two dragonflies from her interspatial pouch.

At first glance, one would think that the dragonflies were alive. But upon closer inspection, one would realize that they were small puppets made of a mixture of metal and wood. The ends of their eyes were filled with formation patterns.

"I call this puppet the Watcher Dragonfly. I can use the Puppet Technique to control it from afar and control the overall situation in the auction hall."

"When our opponents start looting the auction house, the situation will definitely be chaotic."

"In this situation, we'll definitely be drawn into a pointless battle if we're in there, and our target might be taken away by others during the chaos."

"Therefore, the best way is to bide our time. My Watcher Dragonflies will keep an eye on the items we want, and we'll deal with whoever brings them out."

As Xu Huahua explained, the two Watcher Dragonflies glowed under her control and flew toward the auction hall in the distance.

Their size was too inconspicuous, and they could easily sneak in without being noticed.

"Good idea."

Gu Chen couldn't help but praise. Although Xu Huahua was young, he was really smart.

One of them was an expert in archery, while the other was an expert in puppetry. Such a plan perfectly utilized the strengths of both of them.

After understanding the plan, Gu Chen took out his bow and arrow, found a good position, and locked onto the auction hall in the distance.

The view here was excellent. No matter who came out, he believed that he would be able to kill them with one arrow.

Xu Huahua closed her eyes and maintained the spiritual connection with the Watcher Dragonflies.

During this time, some candidates from the Celestial Court entered the auction hall disguised as guests.

There were also people like Gu Chen, who found a good position nearby and waited to see what would happen.

Gu Chen's divine sense didn't have enough range to extend into the auction hall. He could only stare at the entrance, curious as to which candidate would be the first to loot the Whale Alliance.

Swish!

He estimated that the auction was about to start. At this moment, the sound of something tearing through the sky rang out, and two people landed on the hill where Gu Chen was.

"It's you guys?"

Both parties were surprised.

It was Shi Cong and one of his companions.

"The view here is excellent, and it's the best place for archers to set up an ambush. I want this place, so scram!"

Shi Cong said.

Gu Chen's expression immediately turned cold. If it wasn't for the fact that fighting here would attract the attention of the Whale Alliance cultivators in the distance, he would have slapped them.

"You really are a vengeful spirit. Everywhere I go, I run into a nouveau riche like you."

Xu Huahua opened her eyes and frowned.

"Who are you calling a nouveau riche?" Shi Cong's gaze turned cold.

"Look at how you're dressed in jewels. Who else could I be talking about?"

She sneered.

"You damned girl, it seems like you haven't been taught a lesson enough!"

Shi Cong said angrily.

"Alright, shut up! There's plenty of time to fight later, so don't ruin your only chance! "

Gu Chen was furious. He didn't have the time to waste words with this guy, and the battle in the auction hall could erupt at any time.

If they missed the opportunity to attack, they would fail today's test!

"Young Master Shi, what he said makes sense. Let's not fight here for now."

Shi Cong's companion advised, and a trace of disgust flashed in the depths of his eyes.

Shi Cong's expression changed. He knew what was most important at the moment.

"This Young Master won't argue with you for now. I want this place too. Stay away from me, and don't affect my attack. Otherwise, I'll teach you a lesson. "

Shi Cong said to Gu Chen, and then sat down at a place not far away. He held the magnificent purple agate bow in his hand and gently wiped it.

Gu Chen's eyes were cold. This guy had provoked him again and again, and he would remember it. Just you wait!

Both sides were busy with their own things, staring at the entrance. Clearly, their plans were similar, and they were both prepared to use their archery skills to win.

Not long after.

With a boom, the building in the distance suddenly exploded!

Thick smoke billowed out from the broken auction hall, and energy surged violently, accompanied by the noise of fighting.

"It's starting!"

Both sides' expressions changed at the same time.

Gu Chen stared at the sky and the ground at the same time. An arrow was placed on the bowstring, and he maintained the posture of drawing the bow, waiting for Xu Huahua's instructions.

Soon, a group of cultivators ran out of the auction hall in a panic. Some of them tried to fly into the sky, but they swayed and fell down in a few steps.

As for the others who tried to run, they only ran a few steps before their faces turned ashen, and they suddenly fell to the ground, dead!

"What's going on?"

Gu Chen and the others were shocked. This was not the intense battle they had imagined.

"That old hag is too terrifying!"

Xu Huahua suddenly opened her eyes and clicked her tongue.

She had seen the tragedy that had just happened in the auction hall through the puppet, and it could only be described with one phrase: Extremely tragic!

"Old hag?"

Just as Gu Chen was feeling puzzled, he saw an old figure holding a cane slowly walk out of the dilapidated auction hall amidst the billowing smoke.

It was the old hag he had seen in the small city!

"That old hag entered the auction hall and directly used poison, killing almost half of the people in the hall. She snatched away the ultimate organ! "

Xu Huahua explained.
