Chapter 94.1
Chapter 94.1
“Why? What’s the problem?” Duke Kyar asked as he glanced down at her with nonchalance. “It wasn’t like we didn’t share a bedroom a couple of times.”
Isabella winced while Jack, the caretaker, cleared his throat.
“Well, it can’t be helped, Your Highness.”
Isabella and Duke Kyar only shared the same bedroom for a while so that she could calm him down every time he had a panic attack.
“I don’t think there’s anything I can do about this.”
The spare room was under repair, so one of them couldn’t stay there.
“You’re right, Your Highness.”
“Jack, show me to the room.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
Jack climbed the stairs with their luggage while Isabella and Duke Kyar followed them to the bedroom.
He put down their luggage and said, “Call me if you need anything, Your Highness.”
Once Jack left them and exited their bedroom, Isabella took Ignis out of his cage after a long time.
“Are you sure you’ll share a room with His Highness?” Ignis nagged as he flapped his wings. “His dark eyes seemed predatory to me!”
The Archduke’s brow creased slightly from Ignis’ loud chirping.
“You are free to roam, Ignis.”
Isabella quickly opened the window and let Ignis out.
The firebird spread his wings and flew towards the villa garden.
“Is it okay to release that bird like that?”
“He usually returns when it’s time for him to return.”
“That annoying bird seemed smart.” Duke Kyar commented.
The atmosphere in the bedroom became awkward.
This was the first time she had to stay in one room with the Archduke since they became lovers.
Maybe, that’s the reason she felt self-conscious around him.
“Shall we go to Arpeon Castle now? Princess Seria might be waiting for us there.”
“Yes.” Duke Kyar caressed her silver hair and murmured lazily, “We still had a lot of free time before the night comes.”
“I’m looking forward to tonight.” Duke Kyar whispered in her ear.
Warmth flushed Isabella’s cheeks.
She was nervous, but she was also looking forward to it.
“We must get ready to visit them, Your Highness.”
She had to get out of this bedroom quickly before he could sense where her mind was going.
Isabella moved busily as she tried to erase the image of his firm, beautiful chest muscles intruding her mind.
Duke Kyar fixed his gaze on Isabella’s figure like a beast who had his prey placed on a silver platter in front of him.
**
Princess Seria ran towards the carriage door and jumped into Isabella’s arms as soon as she got out.
Isabella beamed, embracing Seria tightly.
Duke Kyar and Prince Victor gave them a disapproving look, but the two women didn’t care much.
“Sister, I missed you.”
“Me, too, Princess Seria. I missed you a lot.”
“Shall we go to my room first?” Seria asked as she linked her arm with Isabella’s. “There’s a lot I want to talk to you about. Alone.”
“What are you two going to talk about?” Duke Kyar’s suspicion made Seria frown.
Prince Victor hurriedly put his arm around Duke Kyar’s shoulder.
“The women must have something to talk about between themselves. Allen, why don’t we talk about something in my room, too?”
“I don’t want to talk to you.” Duke Kyar replied bluntly.
Victor burst into an awkward laugh.
“No. We still have a lot of things to talk about.” Prince Victor told Duke Kyar, but the women had already entered the castle.
The Arpeon Castle’s interior design was as splendid as Prince Victor’s.
It was pretty different from Rubella.
They passed through the central corridor with colorful chandeliers hanging at the ceiling, climbed the stairs with red carpets, and the entrance to the second floor was decorated with flowers.
“My room is here.” Seria smiled shyly as she pointed at the door with large golden carvings spelling her name.
When she opened the door and entered Seria’s room, Isabella saw a tall arched window overlooking a beautiful garden.
She glanced at the view outside, and a golden statue caught her eye.
Isabella stared at the golden replica of Prince Victor in amazement.
“It’s too much, right?” Seria asked, scratching her cheek.
Isabella hurriedly shook her head.
“No. I think it’s good.”
She thought about the cost of the golden statue if she converted it to money, but she also assumed that this particular item wouldn’t be covered for anything.
“Shall we drink tea first, sister? It was exhausting to come here from Rubella, right?”
Seria asked as she led her to the table where teas and cakes were already served.
“I came here using the teleport tower, so it wasn’t hard. By the way, I want to give you something—-”
Isabella gave Seria a box of medicine she had prepared in advance.
“It’s a nutritional supplement for you and Prince Victor. And this medicine—-”
“I know this medicine! You made them for me before.”
Seria exclaimed when she saw Isabella taking out the treatment for her rare disease in the future.
“You remember.”
“Of course, I remember since you told me to cherish it, sister. You asked me to take this if I coughed blood, right?”
Seria remembered exactly what she said.
