Chapter 95.1

“What? I can’t believe you didn’t know about it, Allen!” Prince Victor’s light brown eyes glinted with amusement as he teased him further. “It seemed like your relationship with Isabella wasn’t that deep yet—-”

He quickly shut up the instant he felt cold air permeating from Duke Kyar’s skin.

Prince Victor hated to see Seria’s golden statue turned into ice.

He cherished that as much as his own body.

“Don’t worry, Allen. Everyone can be like that. You can’t possibly know everything about your significant other just because you are a couple. I still don’t know much about Princess Seria. In addition to that, I have so many secrets. Maybe Isabella would tell you about this after talking to my wife.” Prince Victor explained diligently as he wiped the sweat off his brow.

Was Prince Victor making excuses for Isabella?

Duke Kyar’s face hardened even as he tried hard not to show his ire.

“Tell me more about it. Did Isabella want to establish a business on her own?”

“I had no idea. My wife informed me that she and Isabella wanted to have a drugstore here in Arpeon, and I agreed to invest in it. Why don’t you ask Isabella for more information?”

If Prince Victor’s tongue slipped in this conversation, Duke Kyar would freeze his entire castle solid.

Frankly, Prince Victor couldn’t believe that Allen’s affection for Isabella was more severe than he thought.

Plenty of women adored the Archduke of North, but no one had ever won his heart.

Duke Kyar had never loved any woman until now.

It was strange that he fell in love with Isabella in a little over a month.

Prince Victor knew that Allen was the most difficult man in the world, so he couldn’t understand what Isabella had done that his friend was so into her.

He wanted to grab Isabella by the shoulders and shake her, begging her to know her secret.

Staring at his cold countenance, Prince Victor called him cautiously, “Allen.”

Duke Kyar refused to answer, and his face was devoid of emotion.

The awkward silence in Prince Victor’s bedroom seemed long and tedious.

*KNOCK*

*KNOCK*

The sound of knocking brought them relief.

Prince Victor glanced at the door with delight.

The servant opened the door and said, “The meal is ready.”

Grand Duke Victor nodded.

“Yes. Allen, I think Seria and Isabella are waiting for us in the Dining Hall. We should go there.”

Duke Kyar had been silent for a long time, but he only responded after hearing Isabella’s name.

Prince Victor grimaced and raised one curious eyebrow.

Duke Kyar was acting strange, and Prince Victor was becoming suspicious.

Had Isabella given him some strange medicine?

**

‘What did Prince Victor do to Duke Kyar that he was so pissed off throughout their meal?’ Isabella thought.

From the icy air he unconsciously exhaled, it felt like she was in an arctic desert instead of the Dining Hall.

Her food had gone cold, and Isabella called Casa with her mind.

Casa heard it perfectly and answered the call.

She asked him to warm his food, and Casa nodded with clenched fists.

Casa hovered busily around the dishes on the table and warmed all their food.

However, Casa was afraid of Duke Kyar, so he did not dare get close to him.

Upon seeing the low fire spirit heating the food, Seria smiled at his adorable antics.

Not knowing what was going on, Prince Victor burst into an exaggerated laugh and said, “The atmosphere felt so cold, but I’m glad the food isn’t.”

Isabella tried to smile at Prince Victor’s comment, but Duke Kyar remained expressionless.

He barely touched his food as if he was too deep in contemplation.

Maybe, it would be best for them to head straight back to his royal villa after this meal.

She initially wanted to relax and go to the market with Seria, but not when Duke Kyar was acting out of sorts.

Isabella quickly finished her meal and decided to postpone her date with Seria until tomorrow.

“Princess Seria,” Isabella whispered while Seria drank her tea. “I’m afraid we will have to go back for now.”

“Why, sister? Aren’t we supposed to go to the market? We have to look for workers that will help us establish Bella’s pharmacy.”

The word ‘Bella Pharmacy’ made Duke Kyar raise one eyebrow.

“I’m sorry, Seria. But I’m not feeling well. Is it alright if we go to the market tomorrow, instead?”

“Are you in pain? Should I call a doctor?”

“Are you alright, Isabella? Did you have an upset stomach after eating quickly?”

She shouldn’t have faked an illness as an excuse.

Now, both Seria and Duke Kyar were worried about her.

Isabella hurriedly waved her hand in dismissal.

“No. I’m just a little tired.”

“Yes, your friend looks very tired, indeed. Seria, I’m afraid you had to let your friend go in the meantime.” Prince Victor said.

Isabella made eye contact with Prince Victor, thanking him for postponing Seria’s tour at the Arpeon market today.
