Chapter 96.1

Isabella couldn’t even close her eyes because Duke Kyar’s predatory gaze had captivated her.

She had no choice but to accept the soft, wet tongue penetrating through her parted lips.

The way his tongue moved inside her mouth made her run out of breath.

Duke Kyar devoured her lips and Isabella’s fingers clutched his hand tighter.

As their tongues continued to mate with each other, the Archduke had dared to bite her lower lip when she tried to withdraw a little just to breathe.

His arduous kisses became more intense as if he might drown if he would let go.

Isabella allowed him to kiss her to his heart’s content.

Suddenly, the carriage rattled to a halt and his mouth released her swollen pink lips in regret.

Isabella glanced at the small window and saw his villa.

“We had arrived, Isabella.” Duke Kyar’s voice cracked while caressing her moist lips with his fingers.

Isabella blushed and nodded.

“We still had one night, though.” Duke Kyar whispered in her ear.

She didn’t think her face could turn redder than before.

Isabella had no idea that the word ‘night’ could evoke such naughty thoughts in her.

Marc and Luches buried themselves in preparation for the festival even though it was the weekend.

The Archduke had told them to look at the materials in secret so asking for help from others was out of the question.

After handing over the research he had done to Marc, Luches slowly picked up a teacup from the table.

Both of them were too exhausted from working nonstop.

“Have you found any useful information?”

“Well, I think it would be nice to prepare a festival that should fit our Kingdom.” Mark sighed and reached out for the teacup as if drinking its contents would help him come up with a good idea.

“His Highness must be having a great time in Arpeon right now,” Luches murmured and glanced up at the window.

It was unusual to witness the sky as clear as this.

“I’m sure that they are. His Highness would have to go to the beast hunting expedition as soon as he gets back here, so I do hope he is relaxing and having fun with Isabella.”

Frown lines had marred Luches’ forehead.

“I also find it strange that the Archduke ordered for the villa to be renovated out of the blue,” Luches asked in confusion. “Those two must have been uncomfortable.”

Marc smiled faintly in understanding. “Well, His Highness must have had a purpose why he’d done it.”

“I still envy him, though. His Highness is enjoying a weekend vacation in Arpeon while we are stuck in here.” Luches sighed again and continued, “I don’t want to work in this office all weekend.”

“Does it frustrate you?” Marc asked and Luches nodded tearfully.

The assistant looked like he was about to cry. “Do I look like I love being buried in these dusty papers all day long?”

“Then shall we go outside? If we roam around the market, we might get some good ideas.” Marc suggested.

Luches’ amber eyes widened.

“Are you sure we are allowed to leave the office?”

“Yes. I don’t think it’s a good idea to stay here all day as well. I heard there is a restaurant in the market that is famous for its grilled meat. Why don’t we go there and have an early dinner?”

“I’ve always wanted to go there, you know? All right! Let’s go, butler Marc.” Luches exclaimed like a child.

The corner of Marc’s lips curled upwards.

If they went to the market and met some merchants, perhaps, they could get better ideas for the festival.

Marc wanted to prepare a celebration that would suit the Kingdom—-a festival that both Isabella and the citizens of Rubella could enjoy.

Isabella sat in front of the window and observed Ignis flying excitedly around the garden.

Ignis didn’t want to be in the room as long as Duke Kyar was there.

The firebird hated the Archduke with a passion.

Still, Isabella was relieved that it didn’t stop Ignis from having a good time.

Suddenly, a rumbling sound came to her ears and she turned her head to figure out where it came from.

Isabella saw Duke Kyar put down the book he was currently reading.

He frowned slightly.

“Are you hungry, Your Highness?” Isabella asked.

Frowning, he replied coolly. “No.”

Was he embarrassed that she had heard the cursed sound from his stomach?

“Do you want me to make you something? You barely ate earlier.”

Isabella asked, recalling that the Archduke barely ate his lunch.

“All right but you should ask Jack.”

When Isabella went to see Ignis earlier, she met a couple of caretakers who were about to go out of the villa.

“I think Jack went to the market with his wife, Your Highness. Jack said he would return to cook us dinner, but we will have to wait for over an hour for that.”

“I guess I can stand that much.”

“I should cook for you instead, Your Highness.”

Isabella prided herself on being a good cook.

After all, she had lived alone in the previous world where she truly belonged.

Cooking was a necessity.

Not an option.

She experienced the same thing after possessing Isabella’s body.

It was her job to hunt and cook for herself and it was natural for her skills to improve.
