Chapter 99.1

Duke Kyar had stayed up all night after Isabella kept digging into his arms while she was asleep.

He already forgot how many times he sighed while watching Isabella as she continued to test his endurance.

Every time the little red bird returned to the bedroom window, he looked at him warily, and Duke Kyar had to waste his energy in a useless snowball fight with him.

Meanwhile, a silly grin spread across his lips as he observed Isabella snore quietly.

The funny thing was, he found her snores too cute to handle.

Duke Kyar smiled as he continued to reminisce about Isabella last night.

“Why are you wearing a wide grin on your face, Allen?” Duke Victor asked suspiciously. “You’re acting creepy.”

“It’s none of your business.” He replied curtly and scrutinized the medicine shop Seria and Isabella had visited.

The two women hadn’t exited the establishment yet.

Perhaps, they were still frantically searching for the herbs they needed.

“Where can I see a jeweler around here?” Duke Kyar asked.

Duke Victor slightly raised an eyebrow at him as the teahouse server brought him tea.

“Why are you looking for a jeweler?”

“Just tell me, Raphael.”

“Do you see that fountain over there?”

Duke Victor pointed at the fountain seen from their window at the teahouse.

“It’s located on the right side if you go up a little further after passing that fountain.”

“If Isabella arrives at the teahouse before I do, don’t tell her anything. Tell her I went away for a while because I have something else to do.”

“Why? Are you going to propose to Isabella?”

Duke Kyar smiled, got up from the chair, and went out of the tea house.

Duke Victor stared blankly at Duke Kyar’s back.

“You’ve lost weight, Allen. I thought you would never marry and live in Rubella Castle alone.”

Duke Kyar was never interested in women in the past, but now he was marrying one he had only dated for a month.

Duke Victor couldn’t relate.

**

Duke Kyar entered the jewelry store, pulled out the ice ring he kept in his pocket, and held it out to the owner.

He already tried the ice ring on Isabella’s clenched fist last night while she was sleeping, and it was made to fit her fourth finger carefully.

He noticed that her fingers were more slender than his little finger, and he found it so cute.

Duke Kyar smiled as he examined the ice ring for a while.

The ring was created by trapping his cold air until it compacted into ice so it wouldn’t melt for about a day, but just in case, he still tried to preserve it in between.

The jeweler took the ice-cold ring and stared at him in shock.

“Show me your most expensive rings in that size.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

After checking the ice ring’s size, the jeweler showed him luxurious ones from the display stand and lined them up in front of the Archduke.

Unfortunately, not even one ring fit his standards.

“All of them are bad.” He murmured, and the jeweler’s brows furrowed in confusion.

He thought about going to the most famous jewelry store in the capital and acquiring the marriage ring there, even if it would take him a while.

“I have a valuable item that came in yesterday, Your Highness. Would you like me to show it to you? I’ll have to reduce the size of the ring, but it’s from the Tia Kingdom, where the famous jewel-makers came from.”

The Kingdom of Tia.

Duke Kyar wasn’t interested in jewelry pieces, but he knew that trinkets from the Tia Kingdom were the best.

“It’s a little expensive, but—-”

“I don’t care about the price. Show it to me.”

The jeweler’s face brightened when Duke Kyar said the price didn’t matter.

“Yes, Your Highness.”

The jeweler approached the safe, opened it, pulled out a blue velvet box, and showed the diamond ring inside, carved in the shape of a snowflake.

“A famous jeweler from the Tia Kingdom made it. I had a hard time finding this, too. I was about to show this to Duke Victor when I heard he was getting married to Princess Celia next year.”

“Give me that.”

Duke Kyar felt lucky to get his hands on this ring before Duke Victor.

He liked the design of the ring very much.

The snowflake was a symbol of the Kyar lineage and Rubella Castle.

Maybe that’s why he fell in love with this ring at first sight.

“It’s quite expensive. Are you alright with the price?”

“I don’t care. Just give me a ring to me. Can I adjust the size right away?”

“Yes, it’s possible, but before that, I should start with the calculation.”

Duke Kyar interrupted the jeweler and asked. “How much is it?”

“It will cost you 3000 gold coins, Your Highness. It’s a little expensive, right? This precious object’s artistry is very detailed and elaborate–”

Duke Kyar held out one intermediate turquoise mana stone he had brought to the jeweler.

“This should be enough.”

An intermediate mana stone costs 5000 gold coins.

“Let me check this one.” The jeweler said as his trembling hands held the intermediate mana stone.
