Chapter 100.1
Chapter 100.1
His low laugh came to her ears.
Isabella realized what she had said, and her face quickly turned red.
“That. I mean, I–- I didn’t just want to sleep.”
Duke Kyar held Isabella’s hand at her belated excuse and led her to the sofa.
When she was finally seated, he whispered in her ear. “Wait a minute.”
His voice was as gentle as the way he caressed her hair.
Then, he walked to the bedside table, opened the drawer, and took out a small box of blue velvet before returning to her.
When he started kneeling on his left leg, Isabella gave him a bewildered look.
“What’s wrong with you, Your—-”
Duke Kyar grabbed her small, white hand before she could finish.
He stroked her fourth finger with his thumb before opening the blue velvet box, revealing the shiny ring inside it.
Duke Kyar plucked the diamond ring with its snowflake-shaped head from the box, grabbed her hand again, and put the ring on her fourth finger.
Isabella glanced down at it in amazement.
When did he prepare this ring?
The diamond ring had fit perfectly on her fourth finger.
AS Isabella admired the diamond ring with pleasure, Duke Kyar grabbed her slender hand in his and settled a kiss on its back.
“Your Highness.”
Her voice had slightly quivered when she called him.
Still clutching her hand, Duke Kyar rose and sat next to her.
“July 21st would be good.” He said.
“What?”
“Our wedding.”
She still had forty days left before July 21 came.
“I hope you agree. Kyle will return to Rubella Castle for vacation during that month. Do you think it’s too late?” Duke Kyar asked with mock concern. “You look anxious, Isabella.”
Isabella blushed hard.
“Oh, no. I can wait.”
He caressed her hair playfully in response.
“You are too patient, don’t you think?” Duke Kyar teased, and Isabella pushed at his chest in annoyance.
“Oh!” He blurted painfully as he rubbed at the spot with scars around his heart.
Oh no!
Did Isabella push at Duke Kyar’s chest harder than she thought?
“Are you all right, Your Highness? Did I hurt you? It must have been painful.”
He suppressed a chuckle when he saw Isabella’s tightly clasped hands fidget.
“You didn’t hurt me, Isabella. It’s just… your touch turns me on.”
“Your Highness!” She gave him a furtive glance.
Duke Kyar smiled mischievously.
“I’ll have to wear something before I run out of patience.” He said as he rose from the sofa.
Duke Kyar walked towards the closet, pulled out a robe, and stroked the scars on his chest.
He couldn’t explain his ache when she touched him, so he laughed it off instead.
That way, Isabella wouldn’t worry about him.
Frowning, Duke Kyar glanced down at his chest.
Why did his heart suddenly feel numb?
Usually, he wouldn’t suffer any affliction from this wound that he could forget about its existence entirely.
Duke Kyar didn’t know about the cause of this strange phenomenon, so it bothered him to end.

Duke Kyar woke up, breathing heavily.
He had a dream about demonic beasts attacking Isabella.
He quickly turned his head to the side to see if Isabella was alright.
But she was just right there beside him, sleeping peacefully.
Her face was relaxed.
“I’m glad it’s a dream.”
Duke Kyar wondered if he had this dream just because they would go to the beast hunting expedition… or was this just a manifestation of his fear of losing Isabella forever?
The location in his dream was not even a dark forest.
Duke Kyar chuckled when he recalled establishing an ice barrier to block a massive hole at the boundary where magical beasts had poured out.
No matter how vivid it felt, a dream was just a dream.
Yet, on the contrary, his hands had shook slightly as he caressed Isabella’s pale cheeks.
The warmth he felt in his fingertips melted away the anxiety in his mind.
He smiled, observing Isabella sleep.
That’s when Isabella buried her face into the crook of his arm and embraced him.
Since his robe was slightly open, her uneven breath tickled his bare chest.
Duke Kyar couldn’t help but get aroused.
His member grew stiff in response.
“You never failed to drive me insane, Isabella.”
He wanted to sew his mouth shut and endure this until the day he would get married.
Her soft breaths blowing on his chest were a fascinating sensation.
He had this uncontrollable urge to act on his desires right now.
“Ha!” Duke Kyar exhaled a sharp breath, pried Isabella’s limb off him, and lifted himself out of bed.
Duke Kyar found out that it didn’t dawn yet when he looked out the window.
He bit his lip.
He had an ominous feeling that he would have a long and challenging time tonight, like last night.
He exhaled cold air and wrapped it around himself to soothe his hot body.
