Chapter 101.1
Chapter 101.1
Duke Kyar’s expression was unusual as he talked to the Knight Commander, and after talking to him, he approached Isabella straight away.
“We have to go to the Dark Forest right now. It’s not a big deal, so don’t worry too much.”
“Your Highness, I want to go with you.”
“I already told you not to. It’s not a big deal. Don’t think about anything else and wait here.”
He caressed her silver hair gently before walking straight to the horse.
“Wait. I have something for you, Your Highness. Stay here for a minute.” Isabella spoke urgently.
Stopping in front of the horse, Duke Kyar nodded in agreement.
Isabella returned to the castle hurriedly without answering the servants who greeted her on the way.
She went to her room and packed the ‘Gloria’ medicine she made specifically for Duke Kyar.
She also took some hemostatic agents and painkillers she made in advance and stuffed them inside her bag before running toward him again.
Isabella couldn’t see the rest of the knights when she came out.
Maybe, they left first.
Breathing hard, Isabella approached Duke Kyar, who waited for her in front of his horse alone.
“These are hemostatic agents and painkillers. I also created a medicine to calm you down if you can’t sleep well or something has triggered your panic attack. Take this one on days where you are stressed, and your energy is drained.”
“I think I have seen that flower medicine before.” He remarked, and Isabella nodded.
“That’s right. You can use a lot of energy but don’t forget to eat this when you’re already exhausted. I will wait for your safe return—-”
His lips crashed on hers suddenly, and she couldn’t say anything more.
His warm, wet tongue skimmed her lower lip before releasing it slowly.
“I prefer you cheering me on with a kiss.” Duke Kyar whispered.
Isabella nodded her face as red as a tomato.
“I’ll be back.”
As soon as he said it, Duke Kyar accepted the bag she had given him and climbed on his horse’s back.
Isabella paused and looked at him as he flew away in the dust for the last time.
She didn’t take her eyes off Duke Kyar’s back until he completely disappeared from view.
**
“Isabella! You are so distracting!” Ignis nagged at her as he fluttered her wings.
He was flying around her as she walked around the room, biting her fingernails.
“Sorry, Ignis.”
“Are you so worried about him?”
Isabella smiled bitterly at Ignis’ question.
She wasn’t this anxious before because she was well aware of Duke Kyar’s superhuman power.
Yet, that knowledge failed to relieve her after witnessing his death with her own eyes.
It was too painful to remember his skin turning pale, body temperature cooling down, and heart no longer running.
That painful memory was too fresh and vivid that she bit her lip hard.
“Isabella, stop! Your lower lip is bleeding!” Ignis cried with concern.
Isabella noticed that and released her lower lip from her teeth immediately.
“If you’re that nervous, why don’t you send Casa?”
Isabella sighed softly at Ignis’s words. “I’ve already asked Casa a favor, but he seemed to hate going to the dark forest. I couldn’t force him again. The other spirits are also scared of that place.”
“These weak little spirits! I should go there! I have nothing to fear because I am a great Spirit of Fire!” Ignis announced triumphantly.
Isabella glanced up at Ignis. “Really? Will it be okay?”
“I’ll go, check out what is happening, and return. What’s so hard about that? I’ll be back, Isabella!”
“Thank you, Ignis. And I’m sorry. I asked you to go to such a dangerous place.”
“It’s all right! I’m not afraid at all! Don’t worry and wait for me here!”
Isabella nodded and opened the window for Ignis to escape.
“Be careful, Ignis.”
“Don’t worry!” Ignis cawed, flying out of the window in a heartbeat.
The little redbird transformed into a huge phoenix and soared higher.
He appeared like a giant fireball in the sky before disappearing out of his sight.
Half an hour had already passed while she looked out of the window.
Isabella’s eyes widened in shock when she finally noticed a giant fireball, in the shape of Ignis, heading in the direction of her window.
Was Ignis back already?
Ignis, who changed back into a small red bird, went inside the room at once.
