Chapter 104.2
Chapter 104.2
Moreover, the news regarding the Archduke marrying a commoner would probably spread in society.
However, he wasn’t worried about Duke Kyar even the slightest bit because he couldn’t care less about such rumors.
He wanted only one thing.
He hoped that Isabella would become a strong support system for Kyle, who lost his parents on the day he was born.
Perhaps, she could change Kyle after changing Duke Kyar in a short period.
The cold North might be warmer in Isabella’s presence.
Marc smiled at the thought.
**
Isabella felt despair when she realized that the book at the top of her head had fallen to the ground.
After a few days of hard practice, she could finally walk quite well around the room. But it wasn’t easy to walk on a bumpy road with her high-heeled shoes on.
Seated on the chair while drinking tea, Helena glanced at Isabella, who had quickly picked up her book.
“It’s hard out here.”
“You’re doing great. You have improved a lot compared to the first day.”
Isabella grimaced.
Helena’s compliment had caught her off guard.
Then, Isabella witnessed Helena tap her knees.
“Does your knee hurt?”
At her question, Isabella shook her head ‘no’ and straightened her spine.
“That’s all right. You’re bound to break them one by one.” Helena responded.
Isabella glanced down at the shoes she was wearing.
Why do aristocratic women wear high-heeled shoes?
No matter how much she maintained a proper posture whenever she stood or sauntered, she couldn’t help but strain her muscles and joints.
“I don’t think women should wear these shoes, Helena.”
“I’m already used to it, so I don’t feel any discomfort.”
“But it’s not good for your joints. One moment, please. I’ll get you some medicine.”
“I’m all right.”
Isabella did not listen to Helena’s answer and followed her instincts.
She went up to her room on the second floor and packed some joint supplements for Mrs. Constantine.
She found the recipe for this medicine in Isabella’s notebook.
She could certainly see why Isabella had studied the lives of aristocrats.
Isabella did it to create nutritional supplements for middle-aged noble women’s joints.
Their everyday life consisted of uncomfortable dresses and high heels, so there was no way that their joints could hold up properly.
She realized that this also had the potential to make her a lot of money.
With that thought, Isabella returned to the garden and approached Helena.
Isabella put the medicine on the table and spoke, “The herbs I used to make these pills are good for the joints. You could take this medicine once a day. Other than taking this medicine, one important thing is to stop wearing these kinds of shoes. Women can still look elegant without them.”
“My joints might be aching because I’m not as young as you, Isabella. You have to keep practicing if you don’t want to be humiliated in front of so many people on your wedding day.”
Isabella’s smile drooped.
Still looking at Helena’s cold face, she picked up the book again.
Why did it feel like no blood would come out of Mrs. Constantine even if she stabbed her right then and there?
“Yes, I will keep practicing.”
Helena smiled softly behind her back while Isabella practiced walking gracefully with a book on her head.
At first, she didn’t understand why the Grand Duke would marry this commoner, who had nothing to offer aside from being pretty, but after watching on the sidelines for a few days, she finally knew why.
The woman was elegant—well, not that elegant.
She wasn’t patient and she also had a bag full of tricks.
However, Helena was strangely attached to this girl.
Even though Isabella was scared of her, she was quite cute when she talked to her non-stop.
She didn’t think she would be bored if she was around.
It surprised her that Archduke Kyar liked such a woman, but she seemed to be a good match for him, who was quiet and one who found the world a bit boring.
As Helena contemplated the couple’s future, Isabella took another few steps and dropped the book from her head.
Of course, it seemed quite difficult to teach her some basic manners before their marriage.
**
Isabella sighed as she looked at the fallen book on the ground.
After Helena had disappeared after a short visit to the room, Isabella sat down on the lawn and hurriedly took off her shoes that were bothering her feet.
“Oh. But I still think I’m going to live through this.”
She felt drowsy under the warm sunlight.
From waking up early in the morning to falling asleep close to midnight, she was busy learning etiquette and poring over wedding materials.
She had to supervise the research institute but she couldn’t even bring herself to think about it.
She should have asked the Grand Duke to postpone their marriage for a while.
With hindsight, Isabella began to doze off like a sick chicken.
Her head was bent sideways, shaking precariously.
When her head swung wide once again, a large hand touched her small face.
Isabella continued to sleep, unaware.
The hand that supported her face disappeared, and a broad shoulder replaced it.
Helena, who was walking toward the lawn just in time, saw the sight.
Her blue eyes widened in surprise.
Archduke Kyar, whose broad shoulder was cradling Isabella’s face, quickly put a finger to his lips and signaled her to be quiet.
Then he looked down at his sleeping beauty with eyes as warm as the sunlight.
