Chapter 106.2
Chapter 106.2
“I didn’t want to say this, Your Highness.”
“What is it?” Duke Kyar shot back, one eyebrow slightly raised.
“I hate men who are jealous of their nephews.”
“What did you say?”
“Then, I’ll be on my way, Your Highness. Unlike you, I have a lot of work to do.”
The Archduke could only stare at the beautiful woman’s back after she walked away after that savage parting shot.
He anxiously ran his fingers through his dark hair.
“I think I heard something similar in my dream.”
He was a bit nervous when he heard that in his dream for the first time. But when those exact words spilled from her lover’s lips, they hit him right in the bullseye, piercing him through the heart.
The impact on his mind and soul was much more significant in real life.
The word ‘jealous’ had lived in his head rent-free and made him scowl.
“It’s even worse to hear it with my ears.” Duke Kyar said under his breath.

Isabella was glad that she met Kyle the other day in the drawing-room, but now she became worried as she picked up some ‘Gloria’ herbs to recreate the medicine she made for him before.
How could she give this to him without coming off as strange?
Should she approach Kyle while he trains in the forest like what happened in the past?
Isabella sighed inwardly when she recalled Kyle being alert and suspicious around her.
Seria and Kyle hadn’t gotten along very well in the original novel.
Kyle had built a wall around himself, and he never let his guard down in front of Seria.
When Seria and Duke Kyar’s relationship grew stronger, Kyle also felt lonelier.
He was so afraid that his uncle would abandon him one day, and he couldn’t do anything about it.
The current situation might not have followed the original novel since Isabella had already replaced Seria in the Archduke’s heart.
But, Kyle’s fear never disappeared as he observed her and the Archduke.
Isabella’s heart wanted to reach out to Kyle.
She would tell him that there was no need to feel anxious because she and Duke Kyar considered him a precious family member.
First of all, Isabella must destroy all the walls Kyle had built around himself.
But how could she achieve that?
It was pretty easy to approach Kyle before because Isabella wasn’t romantically involved with the Archduke.
Kyle wasn’t as wary of her as he was now.
She was to become his future aunt after all.
“But Kyle is Kyle.”
Telling him the truth and treating him with respect will work on him.
Even if it took him a little longer, Kyle would open up to her like before if she tried hard enough.
As she thought about getting closer to Kyle during mealtime, Isabella placed the ‘gloria’ she had picked inside the bottle she was holding.
Then, a welcome knock came to her ears.
“Dinner is ready at the Dining Hall, My Lady.”
Isabella beamed when the maidservant announced that it was time for her to eat.
“Yes, I’ll be right there,” Isabella responded brightly and scrambled to get up from her desk.
Helena, seated on the sofa while poring over the wedding materials, looked up and stared at her. “You must be famished, My Lady.”
Isabella winced at Helena’s comment.
“Yes, Madame. I will uphold the etiquette you have taught me at any given moment.” Isabella replied. “I’ll be back later. Enjoy your meal, as well, Helena.”
She slowly walked out of the room before Mrs. Constantine could nag at her.
Of course, the grace in her walk vanished as soon as she closed her bedroom door.
Isabella was so excited to meet Kyle that she walked briskly toward the Dining Hall.
When she opened the restaurant, Kyle was already seated in front of the table.
He was the first to get there.
Kyle rose from his chair the moment he found Isabella.
“You don’t have to stand, Young Master.” Isabella greeted him with a smile, but Kyle chose to stand and honored her with a polite greeting.
After that, Kyle sat back down, still avoiding her gaze.
Isabella sat across from Kyle without dropping her good-natured smile.
“You’re really tired, right?” She asked.
“I’m all right,” Kyle replied politely that wasn’t like a 13-year-old.
Kyle appeared like a wary cat with his fluffy fur raised to the ceiling.
Did he think she was an enemy of some sort?
“Aren’t you having exams in your academy?” Isabella asked cautiously, recalling that Kyle couldn’t come down because it was exam season on Archduke Kyar’s birthday.
“I studied in advance so it’s fine. If you’re not comfortable with me coming to the North, then from now on——”
“No.” Isabella interrupted Kyle and went on. “I think you’re getting the wrong idea.”
“I miss—I know this sounds strange, but I’m really looking forward to meeting you, Master Kyle.” She said honestly.
Kyle didn’t respond.
“You were surprised at the sudden marriage news, right? I’m so sorry we couldn’t discuss it in advance.”
“No. It’s not something that you should discuss with me from the start.”
“Of course, we have to discuss it. We’re gonna be a family!”
Kyle’s dark pupils trembled upon hearing the word ‘family’.
“I’m glad to be part of your family, Master Kyle. I mean it.”
“If you’re just saying that because you want to look good in my uncle’s eyes, you don’t have to worry about me. As you saw earlier, my Uncle and I aren’t that close.”
Isabella knew that Kyle didn’t mean what he said.
Kyle seemed like he had surrounded himself with a lot of thorns and she was afraid that he’ll get hurt if she gave him affection for no reason.
Wanting to give him comfort, Isabella watched Kyle warmly and spoke, “To me, Young Master Kyle is more important than anyone else in the world.”
Kyle raised his lowered head.
