Chapter 248

"I advise you to form a team with someone else!"

The long-bearded elder advised.

"No, I alone am enough!"

Chen Yu rejected immediately.

With his current strength, he wasn't any weaker than an early-stage Xiantian Realm expert. He just didn't show it.

To Chen Yu, the ordinary missions posed no difficulty at all. Only the Innate realm missions were useful for honing his skills.

However, it was too eye-catching for a mid-stage Houtian Realm to accept an Xiantian level mission.

Therefore, Chen Yu chose this mission to hunt the Giant Demon Tiger in the Devil Bone Wasteland.

This was the most difficult mission in the Houtian Realm and it was mostly done in teams.

Chen Yu planned to kill the Giant Demon Tiger as a mission. If he completed it quickly, he could stay in the Devil Bone Wasteland for a while and explore other dangerous places alone.

"You're on your own!"

Seeing that Chen Yu was stubborn, the long-bearded elder didn't say much.

After accepting the mission, Chen Yu went back to prepare. On the same day, he rode on the Treading Snow Horse and headed for the Devil Bone Wasteland.

Ten days later …

Chen Yu arrived at a desolate plain. The sky was dark and gloomy, and the air was filled with a heavy, desolate, and fiendish aura.

"This is the Devil Bone Wasteland, one of the three most dangerous places in the Divine River Prefecture?"

Chen Yu was looking forward to it as he advanced cautiously.

The Devil Bone Wasteland was located at the border of the Divine River Prefecture. It covered a large area and a small part of it extended to the neighboring prefecture.

The environment of the Devil Bone Wasteland was harsh. The beasts that lived here were extremely ferocious. In addition, this place had existed for a long time. There was no lack of Origin Realm beasts and even ancient beasts. Even the no.6 cadet of the Blood Fiend Institute, Jin Zhuofeng, didn't dare to venture deep into this place.

After walking for a short while …

Over a dozen large jackals appeared in front of him. They were skinny and one could see the thick bones inside, which made them look even more ferocious.

The moment they saw Chen Yu, these jackals howled and surrounded Chen Yu.

"I just entered the Devil Bone Wasteland and I already encountered a group of early-stage Houtian beasts!"

Chen Yu couldn't help but exclaim. This Devil Bone Wasteland was indeed dangerous.

Kill!

Activating the Bronze Statue Art, Chen Yu dashed out like a beast in human form and rammed into one of the wolves.

Boom!

The jackal beast let out a blood-curdling howl as its body was flung dozens of feet away. Its flesh was badly mangled.

Seeing this, the other jackals immediately stopped in their tracks and prepared to retreat.

Clearly, Chen Yu had instantly killed one of them, causing them to feel a fatal threat.

While escaping, two of the jackals even dragged the dead jackal's corpse away so that they could have a good meal when they returned.

Paying it no heed, Chen Yu continued forward.

After encountering several middle and advanced stage Hou Tian ominous beasts, Chen Yu finally found the target of his mission – the Gigantic Demonic Tiger!

That huge figure was like a small mountain, with pitch-black fur and a pair of bloodshot eyes that could take one's soul away. Its sharp tiger teeth were stained with mottled blood.

The Giant Demonic Tiger was a ferocious beast at the peak of the Postliminary Realm. It possessed formidable strength and was incomparably brutal. When its teeth bit down with full force, it could even pose a threat to a Qi Transformation Innate Expert.

Roar!

The tiger's roar was like a clap of thunder that shook all directions.

If it were an ordinary mid-stage Hou Tian, the roar of the Gigantic Demonic Tiger would cause them to lose their minds.

With that roar, the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's figure had already rushed out.

The place where Chen Yu was was instantly enveloped by a layer of murderous aura.

"So fast!"

Chen Yu raised his head and looked at the mountain-like Gigantic Demonic Tiger that was crashing down on him.

At close range, he could feel the monstrous murderous aura and overbearing might of the Gigantic Demonic Tiger.

Buzz!

Circulating the Bronze Statue Art with all his might, a layer of intricate copper patterns appeared on the surface of Chen Yu's body. There was also a layer of invisible energy field on the surface of the copper body.

Immediately, Chen Yu leaped out and took the initiative to charge at the Gigantic Demonic Tiger.

The Gigantic Demonic Tiger also revealed a look of surprise. This human actually dared to fight it head-on despite being at a disadvantage?

Boom!

Chen Yu dodged the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's claws and punched at its leg.

In the first exchange, the Gigantic Demonic Tiger was forced back by Chen Yu.

"So hard!"

Chen Yu couldn't help but exclaim. The Gigantic Demonic Tiger's bones were thick and incomparably hard. It gave him the feeling that he had punched a body of iron.

Roar!

Unable to gain the upper hand in the first exchange, the Gigantic Demonic Tiger glared at Chen Yu with its blood-red eyes. Its stomach expanded and it opened its mouth to spit out a frightening black tornado.

This attack contained the might of a ferocious beast and a murderous aura that was close to the early Xiantian realm.

"Break!"

Faced with this attack, Chen Yu took the initiative to attack.

Boom!

As he punched out, a black python of murderous aura whizzed out from his fist and arm. Its surface was surrounded by a layer of jet-black light.

Facing a ferocious beast that was at the peak of the Postliminary Realm, Chen Yu didn't hold back. His attack of murderous aura was mixed with a little jet-black true energy, making the power of this attack comparable to an ordinary Xiantian realm attack.

Boom! Bang!

The black python of murderous aura rushed out and destroyed the tornado of murderous aura.

The Gigantic Demonic Tiger clearly didn't expect Chen Yu to be so strong. It couldn't dodge in time and was hit by the remaining power of the fist.

However, the ferocious beasts in the Devil Bone Wasteland all had extremely strong vitality. The power of Chen Yu's attack didn't cause any serious injuries to the Gigantic Demonic Tiger.

Swish!

A black light flashed in Chen Yu's hand and a huge pitch-black sword appeared. It was the Profound Heavy Sword.

Facing the Gigantic Demonic Tiger with extremely strong vitality, the damage caused by his fist was limited.

He approached the Gigantic Demonic Tiger and swung his sword.

Boom!

A dazzling black-silver full moon sword rainbow with a diameter of more than twenty feet and a layer of black aura surrounded it. It swept across the mountain-like black tiger and left many bloody marks.

Moreover, the shocking power of this attack also injured the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's internal organs.

After taking out the Profound Heavy Sword, Chen Yu's ferociousness made even the Gigantic Demonic Tiger feel a trace of fear.

Gradually, the injuries on the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's body piled up and its battle strength decreased.

At a certain moment, the Gigantic Demonic Tiger turned into a black shadow and fled.

"Want to escape?"

Chen Yu couldn't help but grin.

Roar!

Like a black panther, Chen Yu chased after the Gigantic Demonic Tiger at an astonishing speed.

The Berserk Shadow was a secret movement technique. Its speed was astonishing and it excelled in moving in a straight line.

In a short while, Chen Yu caught up to the Gigantic Demonic Tiger.

Boom!

Chen Yu circulated some of his black True Qi and prepared a powerful attack. He swung the Profound Heavy Sword.

The black Berserk Sword Aura was like a raging wave that crashed into the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's body.

The huge impact caused the other injuries on the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's body to become deformed. Blood spurted out.

After that, Chen Yu started to collect the precious parts of the Gigantic Demonic Tiger.

The Gigantic Demonic Tiger didn't live in groups. After killing one, Chen Yu continued to search.

After a day, Chen Yu killed a total of three Gigantic Demonic Tigers and other ferocious beasts.

At night, Chen Yu tried his best to rush out. He found a hillside and rested for a while.

"The Berserk Qi in my body has become stronger!"

While cultivating in the Fiend Wind Valley, Chen Yu's Berserk Qi Realm had been strengthened. But now, it had been further consolidated and strengthened through the killing.

The next day.

Chen Yu went deeper again to search for the Gigantic Demonic Tiger.

Through the first day of killing, Chen Yu had already figured out the Gigantic Demonic Tiger's strengths and weaknesses.

At this moment, he was confident that he could kill the Gigantic Demonic Tiger quickly without using the Profound Heavy Sword.

Roar!

The Gigantic Demonic Tiger roared again and again. It opened its mouth and spat out a huge black tornado.

"Hmph, useless struggle!"

Chen Yu suddenly dove to the right, dodging the attack. Then, he burst out with an astonishing speed and rushed forward in a straight line.

In actual combat, Chen Yu's usage of the Berserk Shadow had also become much more fluid and flexible.

Boom!

A Qi Transformation Giant Python whizzed out and pushed the Gigantic Demonic Tiger back by four or five feet.

This Gigantic Demonic Tiger was slightly weaker than the first one Chen Yu encountered. It was also much smaller. Obviously, it had just reached the peak of the Postliminary Realm.

"Eh?"

Chen Yu didn't take the opportunity to attack. His sharp senses sensed something strange.

A few hundred feet away.

Three men and one woman approached the sound of fighting cautiously.

"It's the sound of the Gigantic Demonic Tiger. It's fighting. If we're lucky, we might be able to take advantage of it!"

In the team, a young man in a teal robe looked delighted.

"Let's go and have a look!"

A young man with a grey bone sword walked in front with a calm expression. He was obviously the leader of the team.

Gradually, the four of them got a clear view of the situation.

The Gigantic Demonic Tiger was not fighting with other ferocious beasts, but a young man in hide armor.

"It's him!"

In the team, a young man with blood-colored bandages wrapped around his hands looked shocked.

This man was Bloody Demon Hand.

Shi Wei and the others had asked him to find trouble with the freshmen mainly to teach Chen Yu a lesson. In the end, he was taught a lesson by Duan Hao.

"Do you know him?"

Zhang Nan, the leader, asked.

"The freshmen of the Blood Evil Institute!"

Bloody Demon Hand's face darkened.

After he came out of seclusion, he was planning to find trouble with Chen Yu. However, he heard the news that Chen Yu had passed Level 75 of the Demonic Pagoda.

It was undoubtedly a huge blow to him.

Since then, Bloody Demon Hand had been in seclusion to consolidate his cultivation. This time, he accepted the task of hunting the Gigantic Demonic Tiger and joined Zhang Nan's team.

Even he, the Bloody Demon Hand, dared to come here to hunt the Gigantic Demonic Tiger. However, Chen Yu came to the Devil Bone Wasteland alone.

"Let's take a look first!"

Zhang Nan said in a low voice.

Judging from Bloody Demon Hand's expression, he didn't have a good relationship with this person. In fact, they might even be enemies.

"I heard that apart from Duan Hao of the Ten Ancient Families, there's another famous freshman who passed Level 75 on his first attempt. Could it be him?"

A tall and slender woman with a cold expression on her face said with slight interest.

"Tsk tsk, this lad is powerful. He challenged the Gigantic Demonic Tiger alone and it couldn't even fight back!"

The young man in a green robe praised softly. There was a hint of jealousy in his words.

"Brother Zhang, I'm afraid this lad has a lot of materials of the Gigantic Demonic Tiger. If we snatch them, we can reduce the time of this task by at least half!"

Bloody Demon Hand suddenly said.

The three people in the team looked at him in surprise.

The competition in the Devil-Free Academy was cruel. As long as the grudges between students were not too serious, the academy wouldn't interfere. It was common for students to die or go missing when they went out to perform tasks.

However, Chen Yu's potential was too great. They didn't want to offend him.

"This lad is only at the Intermediate Postnatal Realm. He must have encountered a great opportunity. Otherwise, how could he be compared with super geniuses like Duan Hao and Situ Linyu?"

Bloody Demon Hand said again.

On this point, even if he only had a suspicion and didn't have any concrete evidence, it was still worth pondering.

"Brother Zhang, no matter how powerful that lad is, he won't be able to walk out of here alive. Also, I'll give you the Bone Spirit Ore …"

Bloody Demon Hand said, gritting his teeth.

The three people could tell that Bloody Demon Hand not only wanted to rob Chen Yu's resources, but also wanted to kill him!

But thinking about it, it made sense. The Blood Demon Hands were vicious and cruel. They would kill over small matters. If they had the chance, they would definitely take the life of their enemy.

The young man in a green robe and the tall girl looked at Zhang Nan.

The three of them came from the same supermonastery, and they would often carry out missions together. They would plunder resources, and they would even trap and kill other cultivators.

However, Chen Yu had great potential and his combat strength was not ordinary. This was not a trivial matter, so Zhang Nan had to make a decision.

After thinking for a long time.

"Get ready!"

Zhang Nan finally said.

He had been interested in the Bone Spirit Ore of Bloody Demon Hand for a long time. He even planned to kill Bloody Demon Hand in this task.

But now, he changed his target and stared at a bigger prey.
