Chapter 254

In the early morning, Chen Yu rushed back to the Demon-Free Academy.

"Today should be the day of the Freshmen Competition!"

Chen Yu shook his head with a smile.

Fortunately, he was running fast. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to catch up with the Freshmen Competition.

Given Chen Yu's strength, he would definitely be in the top three. He also had a high chance of getting the first place. It would be a pity if he missed it.

At this moment.

Buzz! Buzz!

An ancient beast-like roar reverberated throughout the academy.

The instant Chen Yu heard this sound, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and fighting spirit.

"Haha, I must be famous in the Freshmen Competition!"

"I must get into the top 05 in this competition!"

Figures dashed out from each of the mountain peaks one after another.

Soon, Chen Yu saw a large group of students from the Blood Evil Academy.

Among them, the freshmen and senior students were basically separated into two different groups.

After all, a long time ago, the senior students had come to pick a fight with the freshmen. As a senior student, Blood Demon Hand, he had been defeated by Duan Hao.

Chen Yu guessed that there might have been some conflicts between the senior students and the freshmen after that.

"It's Chen Yu!"

"He's back!"

Many of the freshmen were surprised and delighted to see Chen Yu.

The Freshmen Competition was not only about personal interests but also the competition between the different academies.

Chen Yu's reputation among the freshmen of the Blood Evil Academy was even higher than that of Zheng Shifeng. He was second only to Duan Hao and had a high chance of getting into the top 65.

"Brother Chen, you're finally back!"

Yang Zhang was the first to go forward with a surprised expression.

He even thought that Chen Yu had died when he heard that Chen Yu had gone to the Devil Bone Wasteland.

"Humph, you still know to come back!"

Duan Hao snorted coldly. Then, he turned around and walked in front of the team.

In fact, Chen Yu's return made Duan Hao even more excited.

He had suffered losses in the hands of Chen Yu previously. He had already decided to surpass him in the Freshmen Competition to prove himself.

Besides, he was determined to get the first place in the Freshmen Competition!

Then, Chen Yu followed the team to the competition venue.

There was no need to register for the Freshmen Competition. As long as one met the requirements of the competition, one could participate.

"Brother Chen, you've gone to the Devil Bone Wasteland to temper yourself for so long, so your strength should have improved by quite a bit, right? What rank are you confident of reaching?"

"The rewards for the top ten in this competition are extremely generous. Getting into the top ten will be worth it!"

Yang Zhang asked with great interest.

He did not have much hope for the tournament. It would be good enough if he could get into the top 655.

"What's the reward for first place?"

Chen Yu asked.

"First place!"

Yang Zhang's mind went blank for a moment.

The rest of the people also turned to look at Chen Yu. Some of them were surprised, some of them shook their heads and sneered.

Duan Hao revealed a surprised expression as well.

"Haha, this batch of freshmen is really naive and adorable!"

A burly, two-meter-tall man laughed heartily among the senior students.

For the Freshmen Competition, students who had been in the Academy for less than three years and were under twenty-five years old were eligible to participate.

Thus, in the past, the champions of the Freshmen Competition were almost all older students. Occasionally, there would be one or two freshmen in the top five, and that was already quite good.

The relationship between the senior students and the freshmen was not good to begin with. The other senior students immediately chimed in with laughter.

"This is Hu Chong, a student of the Blood Evil Courtyard from two batches ago. I heard that he was ranked tenth in the previous Freshmen Competition!"

Yang Zhang said in a low voice.

He was ranked tenth in the previous Freshmen Competition, and it was hard to say how strong he was now.

Next, Chen Yu learned that the first place in the Freshmen Competition would be rewarded with 655,555 Demonic Points!

"655,555!"

Chen Yu sucked in a deep breath.

He had obtained less than 05,555 Demonic Points when he passed the twentieth level of the Demonic Pagoda.

655,555 Demonic Points could probably be exchanged for a supreme-grade Treasure!

Of course, apart from the 655,555 Demonic Points.

The first place would also be rewarded with a Rising Dragon Pill. This pill could cleanse the body, heal hidden injuries, and increase the level of one's life. It could even slightly increase the aptitude of one's spiritual body.

The competition in the Demonic Pagoda was cruel, and fights were common. Many people had injuries that were difficult to heal, and some of the female students even had their appearances damaged.

This pill could heal almost all injuries on the body of a Qi Transformation cultivator.

Apart from that, the first place could also enter the Demonic Weapon Pavilion and choose two superior-grade Treasure Weapons.

The second place could get 45,555 Demonic Points and a Blood Transformation Pill, and choose a superior-grade Treasure Weapon.

The third place could get 35,555 Demonic Points and a Spirit Cleansing Pill, and choose a superior-grade Treasure Weapon.

…

"The rewards are indeed generous!"

Chen Yu nodded.

Apart from the Demonic Points, Chen Yu was also interested in the Rising Dragon Pill.

After coming to the Demonic Pagoda, Chen Yu had focused on the Primordial Fiendish Divine Art and Demonic Berserk Shadow, and he had neglected the Bronze Statue Art. If he took a Rising Dragon Pill, it wouldn't be a problem for his Bronze Statue Body to reach phenomenal success.

Moreover, this pill could slightly increase the aptitude of one's spiritual body.

The Demonic Sky Peak was the largest mountain in the Demonic Pagoda. The top of the peak seemed to have been shaved off by something, and it was like walking on flat ground.

At this moment, it was filled with people.

Apart from the participants from the other schools, there were many old students here to watch the competition.

In the distance, there was a group of black pavilions. Senior instructors and even the presidents of the branches were inside.

Chen Yu knew Liu Xuanzong, Qiu Xiuyue, Master Black Star, and Instructor Xu.

"You're back?"

Liu Xuanzong nodded when he saw Chen Yu among the new students.

With Duan Hao, Chen Yu, Zheng Shifeng, and the rest, the new students from the Blood Evil Institute would definitely do well in this competition. In fact, they might even be able to rank in the top three among the branches.

Apart from the instructors, there were many young people who were particularly eye-catching.

"That girl from the Yunyang School is as beautiful as a fairy!"

"Look, that handsome man in the golden robe is from the Yunzhao Nation's imperial family!"

It turned out that there were students from the Yunyang School who came to watch the competition.

The Yunyang School was located in the Yunyang Sacred Mansion, which was right next to the Sky River Prefecture. The other two schools were further away.

"It's them?"

Chen Yu's eyes narrowed.

Back in the Devil Bone Wasteland, he had seen four students from the Yunyang School fighting with the Darkwing Wolf.

At this moment, the four of them were here. Among them, Princess Ning's beauty and temperament attracted the attention of many male students.

Furthermore, the man in the golden robe was from the imperial family!

"The competition has begun. All participants, please come to the center of the platform!"

A middle-aged man in black armor announced loudly.

Upon hearing this, many students from all directions rushed towards the empty platform in front of them.

"What are the rules of the competition?"

Chen Yu asked Yang Zhang.

"I'm not sure. The rules of the competition are different every time!"

Yang Zhang did not know this either.

However, the more he thought about it, the more excited everyone was.

Soon, all the participants had gathered at the center of the platform.

"Formation, open!"

The middle-aged man in black armor shouted.

Instantly!

The platform under everyone's feet began to tremble, and a demonic aura was released.

Around the platform, black and purple lights appeared and quickly formed a huge formation.

"This is … a formation!"

Looking around, Chen Yu noticed that the eight hundred people were all inside an array.

It was Chen Yu's first time seeing such a huge formation.

All of a sudden.

A large amount of black and purple light appeared in the formation, emitting a terrifying demonic aura.

"The first elimination round begins now. Those who can last the time it takes an incense stick to burn in the formation will pass!"

The voice of the middle-aged man in black armor was heard again.

In the black pavilion.

"Your school's method of competition is very unique!"

An old man in a cloud robe looked at the huge formation.

"Haha, this will eliminate the weak faster. Besides, the first test is also beneficial for them!"

Mentor Xu stroked his beard.

"Oh?"

The old man in a cloud robe looked into the formation and squinted his eyes.

Inside the formation.

The terrifying demonic aura filled the entire space, affecting everyone's mind.

Many of the weaker ones were either panicking or panicking, and their minds were not clear.

However, most of the students were calm.

Many of them even sat down cross-legged and circulated their mental cultivation techniques to calm their minds.

"Hmph, how boring. I still need to wait for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn!"

Duan Hao was slightly dissatisfied and sat down.

Boom ~

A powerful demonic aura exploded and formed a ferocious tiger in the sky.

The black and purple light had already weakened by the time it came into contact with Duan Hao through the ferocious tiger.

"Haha, this is interesting!"

Situ Linyu calmly sat down and closed his eyes.

Buzz ~

A powerful mental energy was emitted from his body and formed a ghostly figure behind him.

The ghostly figure opened its mouth and started to absorb the demonic aura in the formation.

"What a powerful mental energy!"

Chen Yu glanced at Situ Linyu.

The mental energy displayed by the other party was extremely pure, and Situ Linyu seemed to be hiding something.

Among the new students, only these two were more eye-catching.

A few of them also displayed special techniques and performed extremely well. The other new students were still trying to adapt.

In comparison, the older students were very calm and had many techniques, so they quickly adapted.

"There is a small amount of demonic aura, but there is a lot of demonic aura!"

Chen Yu inspected his surroundings for a moment.

He immediately sat down cross-legged and activated the "Yuan Fiend Divine Skill" to absorb and comprehend the demonic aura.

Time passed.

Soon, some students could not take it anymore and their mental state became worse and worse.

Swoosh!

The middle-aged man in black armor suddenly rushed into the formation and carried an early-stage Houtian student away from the formation.

Obviously, the middle-aged man in black armor had some special items on him that allowed him to enter and exit the formation freely.

"Your mental state is chaotic and you almost became demonic. You have been eliminated!"

The middle-aged man in black armor said in a low voice and put the student aside.

Gradually, more and more students could not take it anymore.

Many students even started to shout and scream, as if they had gone mad.

"The preliminaries of this year's Freshmen Competition are so cruel!"

"Luckily I didn't participate. I didn't want to become like this!"

Many students who did not participate secretly rejoiced.

Soon, half of the students were eliminated.

Almost half of the students in the formation had been eliminated, and there were only about three to four hundred people left.

Suddenly.

The formation buzzed, and the chaotic mist inside became denser.

"The disruptive force has become stronger!"

Chen Yu thought.

Suddenly, a few students collapsed under the demonic aura and fainted.
