Chapter 264

On the challenge stage, a black gust of wind swirled around.

Duan Hao and Chen Yu both displayed their powerful movement techniques, and they were equally matched.

Suddenly, Chen Yu's speed increased again, and no one could see his figure clearly.

"The third form of Devilish Shadow?"

The mentors in the pavilion were shocked.

This secret technique was of a high level, and its speed was top-notch among all movement techniques. However, it had high requirements for the body, and ordinary people could not cultivate it.

However, Chen Yu, who was only in the advanced stage of the Houtian Realm, could already use the third form.

"It took me almost three years to reach the third form."

Liu Xuanzong sighed in his heart.

Moreover, when he first cultivated this secret technique, his cultivation level was higher, and he had a certain advantage.

"We've underestimated this kid. It's hard to say who will win this battle."

Some mentors smiled and shook their heads.

"This year's new students are all impressive."

A mentor with grey hair exclaimed.

Initially, Duan Hao defeating Cao Zhongtian was already unexpected.

However, the strength that Chen Yu displayed was no weaker than Duan Hao, and he might even be able to replace Duan Hao.

Roar roar!

A Black Wind Domain that was tens of feet long formed on the challenge stage.

Within the Black Wind Domain, Chen Yu's figure blended into the black gust, and it was hard to see.

Boom!

A pitch-black iron sword swept out with the Devilish Wind.

Duan Hao immediately reacted and threw a punch. Boom!

Bang!

However, as it was a last-minute reaction, his fist light was destroyed by Chen Yu. Thump!

Thump!

Duan Hao's fist trembled, and his arm went numb. He took a few steps back.

Before he could react, Chen Yu had already appeared behind him and swung his sword at him.

Boom! Bang!

Within the Black Wind Domain, sounds of collisions and explosions could be heard continuously.

At a certain moment, Duan Hao's figure flew out from the Black Wind Domain, and he only managed to stabilize himself after sliding for a distance.

"Damn it!"

Duan Hao licked the blood on his lips, and his eyes were extremely dark.

If he had not cultivated this secret technique and had a certain understanding of it, as well as the power of his bloodline, he would have lost.

Fortunately, he had already left the Black Wind Domain. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to last more than a few breaths of time and would still be defeated.

In addition, after Chen Yu used the third form of this secret technique, his body would probably fall into a period of weakness. In this way, he still had a high chance of winning.

Rumble ~

The black fiendish wind domain gradually faded.

"Chance!"

Duan Hao's eyes flashed.

The third style of "Demonfiend Berserk Shadow" placed a great burden on the body, and the user would enter a period of weakness after using it. As long as he seized this opportunity to launch a fierce attack, he would be able to seize the initiative again.

However, to his surprise, Chen Yu was still using his secret movement technique even after the Black Wind Domain dissipated.

Roar!

A black shadow dashed out from within, like a peerless demon, stirring up an astonishing black fiendish gale.

"Evil Qi Manifestation!"

A pitch-black python emerged from between Chen Yu's fists and arms, emitting a terrifying jet-black glow.

In this attack, Chen Yu used his movement technique to charge forward and his heart to explode. The power was unparalleled.

"Nine Heavenly Tiger Roar!"

Duan Hao's eyes narrowed. He immediately activated the power of his bloodline and performed his ultimate move.

An enormous black tiger of evil qi whizzed out with a shocking gale. Boom!

Bang!

The black-scaled python and the evil qi tiger collided in an instant. Two waves of evil qi and True Qi tore at each other, setting off a black storm.

Boom!

Suddenly, a light black python dashed out of the black storm and bombarded Duan Hao's chest.

It was obvious that Chen Yu had the upper hand in this battle.

Although Duan Hao had the support of his bloodline, Chen Yu had a secret technique to increase his speed and power. Duan Hao had also comprehended the Evil Intent, which made the killing move of the evil qi manifestation even more powerful.

Coupled with Chen Yu's heart explosion, which was far beyond the Pure Evil Qi of the same level, even Duan Hao who had a deep understanding of martial arts could not withstand it.

Puff!

Duan Hao spat out a mouthful of blood and retreated from the challenge stage.

"Duan Hao lost!"

The crowd was in an uproar.

As a genius new student, he had defeated Cao Zhongtian, but he had not been able to sit on the first place for long before another new student took it away.

This year's Freshmen Competition was out of everyone's expectations.

Of course, the most unexpected thing was that Chen Yu was able to sit on the first place.

Before the Freshmen Competition, many students were speculating about the chances of winning the first place. There were even people who opened bets, but Chen Yu was not one of them.

"I saw that Duan Hao had not fully recovered from his battle with Cao Zhongtian. Otherwise, he would not have lost!"

A senior said in a regretful tone.

But no matter what, Duan Hao had lost. It was a fact.

"Could it be that the first place of this year's Freshmen Competition will be Chen Yu?"

Someone could not help but speculate.

Yes, Cao Zhongtian had lost to Duan Hao, and Duan Hao had lost to Chen Yu.

In this year's Freshmen Competition, Duan Hao was very likely to be ranked first.

"This … this is impossible. Duan Hao lost to this kid!"

Cao Zhongtian opened his mouth wide in disbelief.

After all, Duan Hao had defeated him, but Duan Hao had immediately lost to someone else. This was unacceptable to Cao Zhongtian.

Below the challenge stage.

"I lost to him!"

Duan Hao's eyes were blank.

He had always regarded Situ Linyu as his true opponent, and Chen Yu was only his second opponent.

But now, he had lost to his second opponent.

But soon, Duan Hao's eyes regained their luster.

"Although I lost today, I will definitely defeat him next time!"

Duan Hao clenched his fists, and his heart was filled with determination.

Under everyone's gaze, Chen Yu sat on the first place.

He immediately sat down cross-legged and swallowed a few elixirs to hide the secret of his super strong physical strength.

Duan Hao went to the stone platform that Chen Yu was on and temporarily sat on the sixth place.

"The second round of the ranking competition has ended. Now, the third round will begin."

The middle-aged man in black armor announced again.

In the ranking competition, everyone had two chances to challenge. If they failed, they would lose one chance. If they won, they would not lose one chance.

Although the ranking competition had gone through two rounds, many people still had the right to challenge once.

For example, Chen Yu, Duan Hao, Situ Linyu, and the others all had the right to challenge twice.

The third round began.

Because some people had already lost the right to challenge twice, this round of challenges proceeded even faster.

During this period, a few people tried to get into the top ranks, but some failed, while others won.

Nie Xuan was still ranked seventh.

In front of him were Chen Yu, Situ Linyu, Cao Zhongtian, Luo Yongguang, Zhang Nan, and Duan Hao.

Soon, it was Duan Hao's turn again.

"Situ Linyu, it's our turn to fight!"

This time, Duan Hao issued a challenge to Situ Linyu.

Among the new students, he had two opponents. They were Chen Yu and Situ Linyu.

Chen Yu had already fought. Now, only Situ Linyu was left.

"Hehe, I've been sitting here since the beginning of the competition. I'm so bored."

With a light smile, Situ Linyu leaped up and landed on the Challenge Platform.

"This Situ Linyu is as difficult to deal with as Duan Hao and Chen Yu."

Cao Zhongtian could not help but shake his head.

What was going on in this competition? All the new students were so powerful that the older students were embarrassed.

In the past competitions, the first place was always given to the older students. It was already considered good if there was a new student in the top three.

Swoosh!

Duan Hao's body moved and he attacked first.

He was like a ferocious cheetah as he closed in on Situ Linyu and punched out.

Swoosh!

Situ Linyu's body leaped into the air and he dodged the attack. He then struck out with his palm.

A cloud of grey ghostly mist floated over.

"Break!"

Duan Hao swept out with his leg and forced it back.

However, an evil and eerie mental energy instantly passed through his leg and affected Duan Hao's mental world.

"Get lost!"

Duan Hao struggled and roared. An astonishing murderous aura burst out and dissipated the mental energy.

Roar ~

Duan Hao's eyes narrowed and he once again used the Devil Ferocious Shadow, wanting to end the battle quickly.

However, he had only used the first move. In the previous battles, he had also used this mystic technique, so his body had not fully recovered yet.

Duan Hao's speed increased and he closed in on Situ Linyu again.

However, Situ Linyu smiled faintly and his movement technique became unfathomable. Swoosh!

Swoosh! Swoosh!

His body was surrounded by a grey mist and he turned into a few ghostly shadows that appeared and disappeared on the stage.

"Ghost Shadow Steps, level three!"

Many students were shocked.

Although the Ghost Shadow Steps was not as good as the Devil Ferocious Shadow, it was still a top-notch movement technique.

Situ Linyu had cultivated the Ghost Shadow Steps to this level, so he was not afraid of Duan Hao at all.

"Hmph!"

Duan Hao frowned and a layer of black wind appeared on the surface of his body. His speed increased again.

Situ Linyu specialized in mental energy mystic techniques, so Duan Hao did not want to waste too much time with him. It would be best if he could end the battle quickly!

The two figures moved back and forth on the stage.

Duan Hao's figure was as fierce as lightning, moving in a straight line. Situ Linyu, on the other hand, was like an evil spirit. His movement techniques were unpredictable and unpredictable.

Boom!

Duan Hao kicked out with his leg and the Black Wind Fiend Dragon charged toward Situ Linyu.

Situ Linyu stretched out his palms and shot out a ball of ghostly mist.

Boom!

The ghostly mist was shattered by the dragon shadow and a wave of true energy exploded.

Teng teng!

Situ Linyu retreated a few steps and used his defensive technique to block the attack.

"Alright, the warm-up is over. It's time for you to have a taste of my techniques!"

Situ Linyu's expression was still calm and he had a confident smile on his face.

Buzz ~

Situ Linyu's eyes surged with an evil aura and they instantly became extremely black like an endless abyss.

The moment Duan Hao came into contact with it, he felt a powerful and terrifying Mental Energy sweeping towards him.

Everything in his vision became dark and Situ Linyu's figure became blurry.

"Scram!"

Duan Hao shouted and a powerful murderous aura was released from his mental energy.

"Haha, not bad!"

Situ Linyu smiled.

Swoosh!

His figure floated out and with a wave of his hand, a ball of grey mist flew out from his sleeve.

When the mist dissipated, a grey monster appeared. This monster had a small body and a large head. It had pointy ears and a pair of large eyes with black light flowing within.

"That's … an evil spirit!"

Cao Zhongtian's eyes were filled with shock.

"Situ Linyu has already cultivated an evil spirit?"

The mentors were shocked as they looked at the mentors from the Evil Spirit Academy.

Evil spirits were an extremely powerful and profound mystic technique in the Evil Dao. Ordinary Evil Dao cultivators would not be able to cultivate it.

Those who cultivated it could refine an evil spirit and continuously nurture it, strengthening the strength of the evil spirit.

Some Evil Dao cultivators' evil spirits were even stronger than the person who nurtured them. The Evil Spirit would be able to deal with all enemies without them having to do anything.

"What a genius of the Evil Dao!"

The mentors and students from the Lianyun Yang Academy were also shocked as they sized up Situ Linyu.
