Volume 2, Chapter 114 – Want to Kill My Main Body? Have You Asked My Permission?

Despite being suppressed by half of Qi Huang’s Divine Sense, Wu He moved with lightning speed. His foot stamped the ground, shattering the granite beneath as he launched himself into the air like an eagle swooping toward Qi Huang atop the stone pillar.

Before he even reached her, his sword had already left afterimages in its wake. Multiple sword qi surged upward, slashing toward Qi Huang.

Unwilling to engage head-on, Qi Huang curled her body and leapt from the pillar, hovering midair with her long skirt fluttering gracefully.

Wu He, now occupying her former position, stood proudly atop the pillar and unleashed another volley of sword qi.

Qi Huang dodged as usual, internally debating whether to use her trump card. With her Divine Sense ineffective, it was her only remaining means of attack.

“What’s wrong? The mighty Incarnation Realm expert only knows how to run? So cowardly?”

Wu He sneered.

Qi Huang remained silent and withheld her trump card. Her goal was merely to stall him—no need to reveal her full hand.

“In that case, what makes you think you can stop me?”

Wu He wasn’t reckless either. He turned and leapt down from the pillar, striding away with an air of indifference—so hastily that he even abandoned his disciple.

Seeing the cyclone dissipate and swords scattered across the ground, Qi Huang repeated her earlier tactic. Her Divine Sense seized the fallen blades, sending them hurtling toward Wu He in a relentless barrage.

“Annoying flies! Seems I’ll have no peace until I deal with you.”

A vicious glint flashed in Wu He’s eyes. He raised a hand skyward, and torrents of fire qi erupted from his palm, forming a massive flaming hand.

The scorching heat radiating from it was terrifying. The hand clamped down on the incoming swords, instantly melting ninety percent of them into molten metal that dripped to the ground. The few that escaped were left warped and useless, like limp snakes.

“Ah! My sword! That was my treasured blade for years! Truly, when experts fight, the mediocres suffer!”

“Stop whining! Whether it’s the elder or the genius disciple who wins, can’t they compensate you for a lousy sword?”

“Wait… you think Junior Sister Hongling might lose?”

“Looking at this situation, it’s very possible.”

“How? She’s a full major realm above Elder Wu!”

“Who knows? Maybe her breakthrough was unstable?”

“Must be. Wasn’t she in seclusion before this?”

The distant crowd buzzed with speculation.

“For over a decade, you so-called geniuses have monopolized the Honghua Sect’s resources. Yet at the last Evergreen Conference, you couldn’t even secure a state-level ranking. Since you’re so useless, let me remove you today—lighten the sect’s burden.”

Wu He grandly justified himself before retrieving another item from his robes.

Qi Huang’s eyes narrowed—it was a scroll.

Wu He unfurled it, revealing not a painting of flowers, birds, or beauties, but an array of weapons: blades, spears, swords, and halberds.

He swung his sword skyward, unleashing a crescent of flaming sword qi that tore through the mist, allowing a shaft of noon sunlight to illuminate the scroll.

Simultaneously, the ink painting emitted an eerie black glow, its reflection projecting into the sky.

The crowd gasped as the surroundings darkened. Above them, a mirage had formed—countless weapons hovering upside down, their tips pointing menacingly toward the ground, identical to those on the scroll.

As time passed, the phantom weapons grew more tangible, their killing intent condensing into a palpable black light that descended like a shroud.

Light was faster than thought. Qi Huang couldn’t dodge, but apart from a chilling dread, she felt no pain.

Yet she didn’t relax. She tried to evade, but the overwhelming killing intent flooded her mind with terror, scattering her Divine Sense. Her body swayed uncontrollably, and she plummeted, unable to even maintain flight.

What’s happening?

Pale-faced, she could only watch as the weapons rained down upon her.

“This treasure is called the ‘Registry of Slaughter’. The weapons depicted are legendary tools of slaughter. Though mere images, their killing intent alone is enough to shatter your focus. Let’s see you escape now!”

Wu He crowed triumphantly.

Paralyzed by the suffocating malice, Qi Huang collapsed to her knees, truly like a lamb awaiting slaughter.

“Is Elder Wu really going to kill Fairy Hongling?”

“Didn’t he say he’d rid the sect of dead weight? Seems serious.”

“This is too much! Even if she didn’t excel at the Evergreen Conference, no one can deny she’s reduced the demonic threats in Huangtian Prefecture!”

“What can we do? This isn’t our fight.”

“Should we beg for mercy?”

The onlookers wore expressions of pity, some mustering the courage to plead.

“Don’t you understand? She consumes the majority of our sect’s resources. As long as she exists, no other disciple will ever rise!”

Wu He continued his righteous facade.

“Shameless hypocrite! You’re the one bleeding the sect dry!”

Qi Huang spat through gritted teeth.

Wu He gave her no time to expose him. He flipped the scroll—and the spectral weapons plummeted, their friction with the air igniting them into blazing comets.

‘Do I really have to use it?’

Qi Huang clenched her jaw, unwilling to reveal what she’d hidden for so long.

But as the weapons closed in, their heat already searing her skin, the crowd turned away, unable to watch.

“Farewell, Honghua’s number one genius.”

Wu He smirked.

At death’s door, Qi Huang could hesitate no longer. Just as she prepared to unleash her trump card—

A flash of red.

A familiar fragrance of Golden Fate Blossoms filled her nostrils.

Qi Huang blinked—Cheng Hongling now stood before her. Though her frame was slender, from this angle, she seemed to hold up the very sky.

In a blur, Cheng Hongling drew her Blue Scale Sword and slashed upward, deflecting the falling weapons. Then, with a palm thrust skyward, she released a torrent of water qi that condensed into mist, sealing the gap in the clouds and cutting off the sunlight.

Deprived of its energy source, the mirage vanished. Wu He’s treasure became inert.

Qi Huang stared at her true self’s delicate hand—small, yet radiating immeasurable safety.

“Want to kill my true self? Have you asked my permission?”

Cheng Hongling advanced, sword in hand. Playing the role of the “clone”, she continued coldly:

“You’re the clone? But you’re only at the Spirit Gathering Realm! How did you block this treasure?”

Wu He gaped, forgetting even to retract his now-useless scroll.

“Go ask the King of Hell!”

Without another word, Cheng Hongling vanished.
