Volume 3, Chapter 132 – She Charges Alone into the Heyi Sect

The Heyi Sect had been anything but peaceful recently. Some time ago, the disciples sent to Panshan Village had returned—but with heavy losses. A protector and three elders had been nearly wiped out, all reportedly at the hands of that genius female disciple from the Honghua Sect.

“Elder Zhou declared in front of all the major sects that Cheng Hongling of the Honghua Sect hasn’t reached the Incarnation Realm. Do you take me for a fool?”

Lin Feng immediately went to confront Protector Guo.

“N-no, Sect Leader! This must be Zhou’s deliberate lie—he doesn’t want our sect competing with his!”

Protector Guo tried his best to explain.

“Nonsense! You were clearly deceived. A protector of your standing, yet so blind—what use are you?”

Lin Feng roared in fury and promptly stripped Protector Guo of his position.

Just like that, Protector Guo and the others not only lost their cultivation but also their status. It was a complete and utter defeat—now, they were left with neither influence nor respect.

Lin Feng’s actions stemmed from two reasons:

First, people always refused to believe what they didn’t want to see.

Second, he didn’t want this news to shake the morale of the Heyi Sect.

So no matter what, Cheng Hongling could not be an Incarnation Realm expert—at least, not within the Heyi Sect.

At noon, two slender figures appeared at the foot of the Heyi Sect’s mountain. Upon closer inspection, they were two young women—not only breathtakingly beautiful but identical in every way, down to their figures. The only difference lay in their attire.

Indeed, these two were none other than Qi Huang and Cheng Hongling, here to stir trouble.

“Stay here. I’ll go alone. If we’re exposed, we’ll both be caught in one swoop.”

Qi Huang made the suggestion.

“I thought you were confident in your acting skills?”

Cheng Hongling remarked flatly, a hint of teasing in her tone.

“I am. But even the best performance needs a stage. I’m afraid some hotheaded fool might attack without giving me a chance to act.”

Qi Huang countered logically. In this backwater place, not everyone would recognize an Incarnation Realm expert.

“Tch.”

Cheng Hongling rolled her eyes slightly at her doppelgänger before folding her arms and staying put.

Qi Huang, feeling a bit embarrassed, quickly flew up the mountain.

Upon arriving, she didn’t bother with the main gate. Instead, she chose the most crowded spot to descend, hovering three or four zhang above the ground. Her dress and hair fluttered gently in the breeze, her peerless beauty making her look like a celestial maiden descending to the mortal realm. Her ostentatious display immediately drew everyone’s attention.

“Who is this fairy? She’s stunning!”

“Judging by her clothes, she’s not from the Heyi Sect.”

“Obviously. If the Heyi Sect had a disciple like her, word would’ve spread long ago.”

“I’ve seen her before—she’s that genius female disciple from the Honghua Sect, Cheng Hongling!”

“I thought the rumors about her were exaggerated, but seeing her in person, it’s clear someone’s been deliberately downplaying her. With looks like this, there’s no second like her in the entire Western Radiance Dynasty!”

“What’s even more astonishing is that such a peerless beauty could emerge from a place like Huangtian County.”

The onlookers buzzed with discussion, though most were simply marveling at Qi Huang’s beauty.

‘Just as I thought. These low-tier sects—whether cultivators or mortals—have no real insight. Hardly anyone realizes the significance of me hovering mid-air.’

Disappointed, Qi Huang shook her head. Due to male psychology, she wanted her strength to be noticed more than her looks.

“Lin Feng! Get out here! Your Heyi Sect is surrounded by me alone!”

Her irritation flaring, Qi Huang shouted without restraint. Her voice, already crisp and melodious, amplified by her qi, echoed like a nightingale’s song through the mountains.

“Who do you think you are? How dare you address our Sect Leader so casually!”

At that moment, a reckless young man stepped forward, sneering.

“Get back here! Can’t you see how ridiculously beautiful she is?”

His companion hastily pulled at him.

“So what if she’s beautiful? Will she marry me? If not, she’s just a pretty corpse! And if she dares challenge our Sect Leader, I’ll beat her to death!”

The hothead retorted.

“You… have a point.”

His companion fell into deep thought. Indeed, what use was beauty if she wouldn’t be his wife? Better to curry favor with the Sect Leader instead.

“So you’re saying if I marry you, I can challenge your Sect Leader?”

Qi Huang’s lips curled slightly, a bewitching smile playing on her face.

“Y-yeah, of course!”

The young man was instantly mesmerized, nodding foolishly.

“Is this the caliber of Heyi Sect disciples? Your standards are abysmal!”

Qi Huang scoffed disdainfully. With a thought, her divine sense surged outward, pressing down on the young man.

Lost in his fantasies, the youth suddenly felt an overwhelming pressure crush him from above. He face-planted into the dirt, eating mud.

“Witch! What did you do to him?”

The surrounding disciples erupted in fury, charging at her.

“Kneel!”

Qi Huang’s voice rang out sharply. Her divine sense exploded like a tidal wave, sweeping outward in all directions. Even as an area-of-effect attack, none of these disciples—whose cultivation barely reached the Body Refining Realm—could resist. Their legs gave out, and they collapsed to their knees en masse.

The distant spectators were terrified, scrambling away in panic.

“Who dares cause trouble in my Heyi Sect?!”

A thunderous voice boomed, painful to the ears.

Qi Huang turned to see a pale-faced middle-aged man in his fifties, sword in hand, hurtling toward her at shocking speed. Though not Lin Feng, this man was a Unity Realm expert—undoubtedly a high-ranking figure in the sect.

“It’s Protector Jin! Protector Jin is here! We’re saved!”

Someone below cheered. Protector Jin was one of the Heyi Sect’s two great protectors, a fifth-level Unity Realm expert—on par with Qin Quan.

“You kneel too.”

Qi Huang’s tone was calm as she focused most of her divine sense onto him.

The crowd watched as Protector Jin, mid-leap, suddenly stiffened like a startled bird before plummeting uncontrollably.

BOOM!

Though not particularly heavy, his body struck the ground as if weighed down by ten thousand jun 1 钧 (jūn), 1 jun = 30 jin/15 kg/33 lbs , cratering the earth. He landed on his knees, his sword barely propping him up to avoid a full faceplant.

“Oh no! Even Protector Jin is kneeling! Everyone, run!”

The distant onlookers, souls nearly frightened out of their bodies, scattered like startled birds.

“S-such terrifying divine sense pressure… Y-you’ve truly reached the Incarnation Realm?”

Protector Jin’s veins bulged on his forehead as he forced the words out.

“You’re a protector of the Heyi Sect. Can’t you tell whether I’ve reached the Incarnation Realm or not?”

Qi Huang looked down at him with disdain.

“That damned Zhou… he’s deceived our Heyi Sect terribly.”

Protector Jin’s face twisted in bitterness.

“As the saying goes, ‘those who don’t seek death won’t die’. The sins you’ve committed have nothing to do with Elder Zhou.”

Qi Huang couldn’t help but retort. Though she disliked that Zhou fellow as well, this mess couldn’t be blamed on him.

“Fairy Hongling! To what do we owe the honor of your visit?”

At that moment, Lin Feng stepped forward, his face ashen. Clearly learning from his subordinates’ mistakes, he no longer made a grand entrance.

“No need for pleasantries. I’m simply here to demand that Sect Leader Lin give an account for the villagers of Bajiao Village and Panshan Village—those your Heyi Sect has slaughtered.”

Qi Huang’s voice was icy. This time, it wasn’t an act. Lin Feng was the mastermind behind the atrocities, and thinking of the innocent victims made her wish she could tear him apart on the spot.

“And what kind of ‘account’ does Fairy Hongling seek?”

Lin Feng struggled to maintain his composure.

“That depends on how much Sect Leader Lin values the Heyi Sect.”

Qi Huang’s lips curled slightly.

“What? If I refuse, does Fairy Hongling intend to annihilate our Heyi Sect?”

Lin Feng asked, incredulous.

“Why not?”

Qi Huang shot back.

Lin Feng’s eyes burned with fury, his teeth grinding audibly. He was clearly torn between gambling everything or cutting his losses.

“What’s wrong, Sect Leader Lin? Can’t decide? Should I help you make up your mind?”

Qi Huang smirked coldly. With a thought, her divine sense seized several Heyi Sect disciples, lifting them into the air. She knew she had to press the advantage—no room for hesitation.

“Save us, Sect Leader! Help!”

The disciples flailed wildly, screaming for aid.

“Fine! Whatever you demand, I’ll agree!”

Lin Feng’s aged face cycled through shades of green and white before he finally surrendered.

“Good. You’re at least somewhat sensible—otherwise, the Heyi Sect would cease to exist today.”

Qi Huang smiled approvingly before laying out her terms: “Three days from now, you will personally go to the Honghua Sect and apologize to those villagers.”

As she turned to leave, floating gracefully away, she added over her shoulder:

“Oh, and don’t forget to bring your ‘sincerity’. Mere words won’t be enough to save your sect.”
