Volume 3, Chapter 226 – Damn Girl, Don’t Let Me Catch You
Hearing these words, Yaoyao froze for a moment before glaring at her poop-scooper with a gaze sharp enough to devour someone. No one liked being used, not even cats.
Qi Huang felt a pang of guilt and didn’t dare meet the cat-eared girl’s eyes.
“My dear consort, now that you have backup, you think you can handle things on your own again, huh? Have you already forgotten the lesson from earlier?”
The sinister crown prince raised his head, a malicious smirk playing on his lips.
“Not convinced? Then come bite me if you dare!”
Qi Huang, utterly reckless, taunted him without a second thought. She knew she couldn’t show even a hint of fear, otherwise, he’d see right through her.
“Hmph…”
The crown prince sneered coldly before shifting his gaze to the cat-eared girl.
“Why are you looking at me? If you want to bite her, go ahead.”
The cat-eared girl smirked, her tone teasing.
Qi Huang stiffened, shooting her an incredulous look. Hadn’t she just declared ownership over me? How could she sell me out so quickly?
“Really?”
The crown prince tested the waters.
“Of course! Don’t worry, I definitely won’t take revenge on you!”
Yaoyao nodded earnestly, her face the picture of sincerity.
Sweat beaded on Qi Huang’s forehead as she prepared to bolt at any moment.
“…Never mind. Since she’s your servant, Miss Cat Spirit, I’ll give you face this time and spare her, for now.”
After a moment of hesitation, the crown prince ultimately didn’t dare take the risk. After all, who could trust a woman’s words?
“Phew!”
Qi Huang exhaled in relief, then mustered her courage and added, “Remember what I said earlier—stop the Yin energy eruption immediately, or I’ll have her eat you!”
The crown prince remained unruffled, smiling faintly. “And you remember my words too—you’re destined to be the crown princess of the Great Qi Kingdom. You can’t escape. Oh, and my name is Jiang Feng.”
“Enough nonsense. Let’s go!”

Yaoyao cut in impatiently.
But Qi Huang hesitated. She wasn’t sure if the zombie crown prince, Jiang Feng, had actually taken her warning to heart.
“Hey, so-called ‘crown prince’, whatever she said, that’s my stance too. What you do next is up to you.”
Yaoyao’s cold voice suddenly rang out.
To Qi Huang, it was like hearing celestial music—her heart pounded with excitement. She never expected the cat-eared girl to back her up at the last moment. What a tsundere.
Jiang Feng’s smile vanished, leaving him staring blankly at the two girls.
Qi Huang lifted her chin smugly and added, “We’ll be waiting outside. The moment the Yin energy stops erupting, we’ll spare your minions. Otherwise, get ready to be a commander with no army!”
Jiang Feng’s expression darkened. As the crown prince of the Great Qi Kingdom, when had he ever suffered such humiliation? But with his “family” in tow, he couldn’t afford to escalate things. For now, he had no choice but to swallow his pride.
With that, Qi Huang flew off, deliberately using her divine sense to snatch up an unlucky little ghost along the way and stuff it into Yaoyao’s spatial ring—snacks for the Nine Nether Demon Cats.
“Damn girl, don’t let me catch you next time. If I do, I’ll make you go through childbirth once a year!”
Jiang Feng gnashed his teeth in frustration.
“Your Highness… what should we do now?”
Li Hua cautiously approached, his voice trembling.
“Do you want to live or die?”
Jiang Feng shot him a frosty glare.
“Forgive me, Your Highness! This general naturally wishes to live!”
Li Hua immediately dropped to his knees, begging for mercy. He had no idea what he’d done wrong, and didn’t dare ask.
“If you want to live, then I have no choice but to yield to her. After all, I’ve got ‘dependents’ now.”
Jiang Feng laughed self-deprecatingly.
“But… Your Highness, this is too humiliating! This general would rather die than burden you!”
Li Hua declared resolutely.
“Humiliating? Have you forgotten what I said? Who is Fairy Hongling?”

Jiang Feng frowned.
“Your… consort?”
Li Hua answered reflexively.
“Exactly. Since she’s my consort, how can you call it humiliation? This is me doting on her, understand?”
Jiang Feng snapped.
“Your Highness is wise! This general was too dull to see it.”
Li Hua hurriedly nodded in agreement. If the crown prince said so, then even black could be white. Arguing was out of the question.
Satisfied, Jiang Feng grinned, then opened his mouth and took a deep breath, as if a bottomless pit had appeared out of thin air. The surrounding Yin energy surged toward him, funneling into his throat.
Not long after Qi Huang and Yaoyao left, they felt the Yin Qi around them gradually recede, thinning out.
“Looks like he caved. I never expected you to scare him that badly, Yaoyao!”
Qi Huang jumped for joy.
“Of course! Who do you think I am?”
Yaoyao proudly lifted her chin—but then her smile vanished as she rounded on Qi Huang. “You shameless brat! You actually dared to use me! I see now, you were faking the pain last time! I shouldn’t have let you off so easily!”
“N-no! You helped me because you’re beautiful and kind-hearted! Not because I’m shameless!”
Qi Huang shuddered, flattering her while protectively covering her prominent chest.
“Beautiful and kind-hearted…?”
Yaoyao touched her small head, momentarily unsure.
“Absolutely! There’s no girl in the world more beautiful or kind-hearted than you!”
To save her own skin, Qi Huang shamelessly piled on the praise. Beautiful? Sure. Kind-hearted? Yeah, right. What kind-hearted person would try to strangle someone’s chest out of jealousy?

“Hmph. Fine, I’ll let it slide this time. But if you pull this again, don’t blame me for finding a new poop-scooper.”
Yaoyao warned.
Having narrowly escaped disaster, Qi Huang sighed in relief before flying off.
“This place is crawling with lost souls and wild ghosts. Once the cat food we got this time runs out, remember to bring them here often.”
Yaoyao spoke almost nostalgically.
“Of course… of course…”
Qi Huang nodded eagerly. The allure of the cats’ tears was too great—she’d do everything to keep her position as their shoveling officer.
“Wait, what about you?”
Qi Huang suddenly realized something was off.
“I have my own matters to attend to. After we return, I’ll be leaving for a while.”
Yaoyao’s voice was low.
“How long will you be gone?”
Qi Huang pressed.
“Shouldn’t be too long. I’ll be coming and going often from now on. Did you really think I’d stick with a poop-scooper like you just to raise them? If that were the case, my own strength would be more than enough.”
Yaoyao explained.
Qi Huang finally understood. ‘So that’s why she clung to me despite being so strong—she just didn’t have the time.’
Though reluctant, Qi Huang knew she couldn’t force her to stay, so she let it go.
Yaoyao handed the spatial ring to Qi Huang before transforming into a dress and wrapping around her body.
“Hey, how come no one can tell what you really are when you’re draped over me like this?”
Qi Huang couldn’t help but ask.
“Are you stupid? Nine Nether Demon Cats naturally block divine sense. Unless someone has Yin-Yang Eyes, who could possibly see through my true form with the naked eye?”
Yaoyao shot back.

“Uh…”
Qi Huang had no retort.
Before long, Qi Huang reunited with her main body and proudly announced her success.
“Really?”
Cheng Hongling brightened momentarily before coughing and adding, “Don’t get cocky. Remember—you succeeded not because your acting was good, but because those evil spirits were just too stupid.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.”
Qi Huang rolled her eyes. ‘Why are all the girls around me such tsunderes?’
The two waited until they confirmed the Yin energy had slowed to its previous sluggish rate before heading back.
Upon returning to the Honghua Sect, Qi Huang was once again welcomed with fanfare—though by now, she was used to it and remained unfazed.
Back in her quarters, Yaoyao left on her own.
Qi Huang then turned her attention to the Nine Nether Demon Cats. Having devoured so many powerful evil spirits, they had begun evolving—advancing from ordinary cats to the Spirit Gathering Realm, with their strength continuing to grow.
Qi Huang spent the entire day in a state of exhilaration. The stronger these cats became, the more tears they’d produce—and the more money she could make selling them. That money would then fund her purchases of ghost tomatoes. This is practically cheating!
Two days later, disciples from the Huxiao Sect arrived at the Honghua Sect, claiming they’d rushed over to help after hearing about the cursed land’s eruption. Leading them was none other than Elder Zhou.
“How did these guys, all the way in the prefecture, find out so quickly?”
The Honghua Sect members were baffled but still played the gracious hosts.
After exchanging pleasantries, Zhou Ming demanded to see Cheng Hongling by name, his tone condescending and confident. After all, even an idiot knew only the Immortal Alliance could help the Honghua Sect now.
“This guy still won’t give up, huh? But he probably doesn’t know I’ve already resolved the Yin Qi eruption at Pingshan Mass Burial Ground.”
Qi Huang was amused. She decided to accompany her main body to meet Zhou Ming, curious to see what he could possibly say to convince them to switch sides.
