Volume 6, Chapter 365 – He Released the Malignant Ghost (Part 2)
Following Qi Huang’s instructions, the Liu family relatives dripped cat’s tears into their eyes and peered into the Shadow-Retaining Mirror. It was their first time seeing such a treasure, and each of them was brimming with curiosity.
Inside the mirror, Liu Biao returned to his bedroom with a dark expression.
“How did it go, husband?”
His wife, Madam Liu, immediately pressed him for answers.
“Just as you predicted, it’s been exposed. Yesterday, that old woman sent Little Ju to the escort bureau to investigate.”
Liu Biao took a deep breath.
“What?!”
Madam Liu collapsed onto a chair, her face ashen.
“What’s going on?”
The relatives in the main hall exchanged bewildered glances.
“Let me explain.”
Qi Huang stepped forward and concisely summarized how Liu Biao had used drugs to coerce the family matriarch.
“What?! How could he commit such an atrocity?!”
The Liu family members were outraged, immediately launching into a verbal assault against Liu Biao.
Meanwhile, in the mirror, Madam Liu began muttering in despair:
“This means the old woman is completely out of our control now. As long as she lives, the marriage alliance for profit will never happen. How are we supposed to explain this to the Hai family?”
“……”
Beside her, Liu Biao remained silent, his face shadowed, as if steeling himself for a final decision.
“You shouldn’t have been so greedy in the first place. If you’d just listened to me and killed her along with the rest, we wouldn’t be in this mess now!”
Madam Liu couldn’t help but complain.
“It’s fine. It’s not too late to kill her now.”
A trace of ruthless determination flashed across Liu Biao’s face.
“What?! They actually planned to kill the Ancestress?!”

Many of the relatives in the hall shot to their feet in shock.
“Good. ‘No poison, no true man.’ Now you’re finally acting like one.”
Madam Liu in the mirror praised him before asking, “How do you plan to kill the old woman? Are you using the same evil spirit that killed your elder brother?”
“What do you think?” Liu Biao countered.
“Since the evil spirit works so well, why take risks with other methods?”
Madam Liu answered without hesitation.
Qi Huang’s lips curled slightly. Just as she had guessed, the Liu Biao couple were clever people.
“What?! He used an evil spirit to kill his elder brother?!”
The hall erupted into chaos. The relatives swarmed forward, glaring at the couple in the mirror with eyes full of hatred, as if they wished to tear them apart limb by limb.
Inside the mirror, Liu Biao soon retrieved a wooden box from a hidden compartment in his cabinet and opened it. Inside lay a ring alongside a small jade vial.
Madam Liu’s face paled with fear as she staggered back several steps.
Liu Biao first took the vial and poured two drops of liquid into his eyes before putting it back.
‘That must be cat’s tears.’
Qi Huang deduced.
Liu Biao then called out to the ring:
“Immortal Spirit! Immortal Spirit! Can you hear me? This lowly one humbly requests your assistance once more!”
The moment he finished speaking, a spectral figure materialized before him—a disheveled old man with floating feet, a deathly pale face, and a body wreathed in sinister energy. His eyes, filled with resentment, burned like pools of blood, and his malevolent gaze, visible even through his white hair, sent chills down the spine, like a beast ready to devour its prey.
“Ahhh! A ghost!!”
Having used the cat’s tears, the Liu relatives could see the malignant ghost clearly. They were terrified out of their wits, scrambling backward in panic.
“So it was hidden inside a spatial ring!”
Qi Huang finally understood. No wonder she hadn’t been able to detect the evil spirit, it had concealed its aura inside the ring. Spatial rings truly were perfect for hiding filth.
In the mirror, Liu Biao made his request:
“Immortal Spirit, please kill my great-grandmother for me. Right now!”

The ghost said nothing, turning swiftly to float out of the room.
“Wh-Where is it going?!”
“Idiot, didn’t you hear Liu Biao?! He asked it to kill our matriarch!”
“D-Does that mean… it’s coming here?!”
“Help!!”
The Liu relatives were thrown into complete disarray, their fear overwhelming.
“Everyone, calm down. It’s alright.”
Liu Yingyue and Xia Wei quickly tried to soothe them.
Qi Huang paid no attention to these cowards. Locking onto the ghost with her divine sense, she vanished from the spot like a wraith. Now that the target had appeared, it was time to settle this once and for all.
The ghost moved with terrifying speed, arriving before Old Lady Shen’s door in just a few breaths, as if teleporting. It attempted to force its way inside.
“Trying to enter? Did you ask for my permission?”
Qi Huang descended gracefully in front of the door.
The ghost’s expression remained unchanged, but its eyes grew even more venomous. The yin energy around it surged, transforming into massive black serpents that lunged at Qi Huang.
In the world of cultivators, evil spirits were categorized into three types: wraiths, zombies, and skeletons.
Among them, wraiths were ranked by strength into three major realms: soul, ghost, and fiend. The weakest, souls, could not withstand sunlight and could only attack by possessing victims and assaulting their minds, most victims died from the hallucinations they induced. Ghosts, however, were far stronger. They could manipulate yin energy, with even the weakest among them comparable to a cultivator in the Unity Realm.
Unfortunately for this old ghost, it had picked the wrong day to cross paths with Qi Huang.
“Ghost Realm? I underestimated you.”
Qi Huang smirked. Instead of retreating, she leisurely stepped forward. Her formidable divine sense surged outward like a tidal wave, dispersing the incoming yin energy before solidifying into a giant hand that seized the ghost in an unbreakable grip.
The ghost’s expression flickered as it struggled violently, but to no avail.
Qi Huang couldn’t be bothered to waste time. With a flick of her divine sense, she extracted the soul of Elder Liu from the spatial ring.
“Uncle, take a good look. Is this the evil spirit that killed you?”
Qi Huang asked casually.

Liu Zheng stared intently before roaring in fury:
“It’s this damned ghost!”
“Good. Now that we have both witnesses and evidence, it’s time for judgment.”
Qi Huang sighed, then instructed Liu Zheng:
“Uncle, the yang energy outside is too strong for you. Return to the ring for now. I’ll summon you when your testimony is needed.”
Liu Zheng had no objections and was promptly returned to the ring.
After a brief hesitation, Qi Huang walked to the side chamber and asked softly:
“Lady Shen, everything has fallen into place. It’s time to settle this. Would you like to come to the main hall?”
“Of course. I’ve waited far too long for this moment.”
Old Lady Shen replied.
“Good. We’ll be waiting.”
Qi Huang then dragged the restrained ghost into the main hall, sending the relatives into another wave of terror.
“Sister Wei, please summon Second Master Liu and his wife. Tell them there’s an urgent matter to discuss.”
Qi Huang instructed Xia Wei.
Xia Wei nodded eagerly and strode out, cracking her knuckles.
Before long, Old Lady Shen emerged in her wheelchair, and the Liu Biao couple arrived as well.
The moment they entered, Liu Biao and his wife noticed the pale-faced relatives and exchanged confused glances.
Liu Biao scanned the room. Thanks to the cat’s tears, he quickly spotted the ghost restrained by Qi Huang. His entire body trembled, he never imagined this wild girl would be so formidable, effortlessly subduing the ghost.
Though shocked, Liu Biao quickly steadied himself. After all, without solid proof, no one could confirm he had commanded the ghost.
As for Madam Liu, having never used the cat’s tears, she remained completely oblivious.
“Sister Wei, give Madam Liu some cat’s tears. Since she’s complicit in this, we should ensure fairness and transparency in resolving the matter.”
Qi Huang ordered.
Though reluctant, Xia Wei complied.

Madam Liu, puzzled, dripped a drop into her eye, and immediately collapsed in terror. Clever as she was, she was still just a woman.
“Now that everyone’s here, let’s put an end to this farce.”
Qi Huang strode to the center of the hall and confronted Liu Biao directly:
“Second Master Liu, you sent this ghost to kill Old Lady Shen, didn’t you?”
“What?! I—I don’t know what you’re talking about! I’ve never seen that ghost before!”
Liu Biao flinched before forcing himself to feign composure.
“No use lying. Everyone here saw your little discussion in the room just now.”
Qi Huang smirked and shook her head before retrieving the Shadow-Retaining Mirror and replaying the incriminating scene.
The couple’s faces drained of color, leaving them speechless.
“And wasn’t it also this ghost that killed your elder brother?”
Qi Huang pressed further.
“You wretched girl! How dare you slander me?!”
Liu Biao’s composure shattered, after all, murder and attempted murder were entirely different crimes.
“Still refusing to admit it until the bitter end?”
Unfazed, Qi Huang summoned the soul of Elder Liu.
“Ahhh! A ghost!!”
Liu Biao and his wife were scared out of their wits. They tried to flee, but their legs gave out, leaving them writhing pathetically on the floor.
The other relatives, having already seen the ghost earlier, remained relatively calm this time.
“Uncle, is this the ghost that killed you?”
Qi Huang asked Liu Zheng again.
“It’s him!”
Liu Zheng affirmed through gritted teeth before floating toward the terrified couple, his spectral form radiating fury.
