Volume 6, Chapter 366 – I Said I’d Let You Take Revenge
“You used evil spirits to kill me, but today, I have become an evil spirit myself. Shouldn’t I let you two taste the same fate?”
Liu Zheng’s voice was low and menacing as he questioned them.
“Of course you should. This is called ‘giving someone a taste of their own medicine’.”
Xia Wei, standing nearby, spoke with righteous indignation.
“Help! Stay away! Don’t come any closer!”
Liu Biao and his wife were terrified out of their wits, their bodies trembling like soaked dogs.
“What’s wrong? Shouldn’t you be happy to see your elder brother? Why are you so afraid?”
Qi Huang mocked from the side before turning to Liu Zheng. “Uncle, it’s been a long time. You must have missed your brother dearly. Go ahead and give him a hug!”
“Indeed, I’ve missed him very much. Come here, my dear brother, let’s embrace.”
Liu Zheng lunged forward with exaggerated enthusiasm.
“Elder brother… elder brother… I was wrong… I was wrong! Please spare me!”
Liu Biao was so frightened that he pissed himself, dropping to his knees and kowtowing frantically, his forehead slamming against the ground with loud thuds.
“Just now, you were calling her a ‘worthless wench’ left and right. I thought your mouth was tough, but it turns out you’re even weaker than the dog at the gate, just a little scare and you wet yourself.”
Qi Huang sneered before glancing around. Her gaze settled on Liu Yingyue, and she walked toward her.
“Sister Yue, I promised I’d let you take revenge with your own hands. Here, this is a Monarch-grade Protective Talisman, infused with intense yang energy. Just stick it on that old ghost, and within moments, its soul will scatter. If you’re not afraid, go ahead and kill it to vent your anger!”
With a flick of her hand, Qi Huang produced a talisman as if performing a magic trick.
Liu Yingyue stared at the malignant ghost. The fear in her beautiful eyes gradually faded. She snatched the talisman and, without hesitation, slapped it onto the ghost’s body, her movements fluid, not even blinking once.
The moment the talisman touched the ghost’s yin energy, it burst into flames, rapidly spreading across its form.

“Ahhh!”
The ghost let out a bloodcurdling shriek, writhing in agony within the flames. But no matter how it struggled, it couldn’t break free from Qi Huang’s overwhelming divine sense. In mere moments, its yin energy was completely incinerated, and its spirit was obliterated by the will of the Heavenly Dao.
“Lady Shen, the evil spirit has been destroyed. As for these two, the decision on how to deal with them is now yours.”
Qi Huang turned to Lady Shen, deferring to her judgment.
“Sigh… Such a sin you two have committed!”
Shen-shi’s expression was one of deep sorrow. “Liu Biao, do you know why I pretended to agree to your marriage alliance for profit? It wasn’t because this old woman feared death, it was because I wanted to wait until Yingyue returned so I could confront you openly. That way, the truth would come to light. And indeed, I was right.”
“You… You knew she would bring this immortal… this fairy back with her?”
Liu Biao stammered in shock.
“Of course. Anyone with half a brain could figure it out. Cat’s Tears are an incredibly rare treasure. For Yingyue to have used them to revive the Yongning branch, she must have had the help of a noble benefactor. She knew her return wouldn’t be smooth, so she would definitely seek assistance.”
Shen-shi explained calmly.
“Old Madam, you are indeed wise. But there’s one thing I must correct, strictly speaking, Sister Yue never asked anyone to intervene in her family affairs. The reason I stepped in was purely out of goodwill. Had I stood by and done nothing, you would already be dead.”
Qi Huang couldn’t help but interject, unwilling to let herself be seen as a mere pawn in someone else’s scheme.
“You wouldn’t have stood by. Yingyue told me about the situation at the Yongning branch. The one who provided her with Cat’s Tears was a young master surnamed ‘Huang,’ wasn’t he? That ‘Huang Di’ was his subordinate, and you, as Huang Di’s sworn sister, must also serve Young Master Huang, correct?”
Lady Shen’s tone was probing yet composed.
“And so?”
Qi Huang frowned slightly.
“And so? Young Master Huang has been cooperating with my great-granddaughter for so long. Knowing her difficult circumstances, he would naturally lend a hand. Otherwise, he’d have to find another partner. Hence, he sent you to help. Am I wrong?”

A faint smile played on Lady Shen’s lips.
“You even guessed that?”
Qi Huang was utterly stunned.
“Indeed. That’s why I was certain Yingyue would return with capable individuals, whether by her own will or otherwise.”
Lady Shen’s smile carried a hint of knowing amusement.
“Lady Shen, I’m curious—if I hadn’t come this time, and you didn’t know the origin of the medicine, would you still have dared to oppose Liu Biao?”
Qi Huang began to challenge her.
“Little girl, do you truly believe this old woman is some cowardly fool clinging to life? I’ve lived to 110 years. I’m already content. The agony of lying in bed day after day, do you think I don’t feel it? Whether you came or not, I would have confronted him.”
Lady Shen remained unshaken.
“Is that so?”
Qi Huang’s tone was noncommittal.
“Of course. If Liu Biao truly was the murderer, he would have tried to kill me, just like tonight. If I could die knowing who killed my eldest grandson, then it would have been worth it.”
Lady Shen’s explanation was calm.
“You… You planned all along to use yourself as bait to lure out the culprit?”
Qi Huang was momentarily speechless.
“Yes. That’s why when you asked me to act as bait, I agreed so readily, because it was already part of my plan. If I were truly a coward, why would I have agreed? Waiting for Yingyue to appear before exposing him was merely to use your hand in revealing the truth to everyone. That’s far better than taking the truth to my grave alone.”
Lady Shen smiled faintly.
“I can testify—the Ancestress has always spoken the truth. She told me the same thing from the beginning.”

The maidservant Little Ju spoke up in support.
Qi Huang was utterly astounded. Never had she imagined that such a terrifyingly shrewd old woman existed. One who, despite being bedridden, had calculated every move with precision. Truly, reputation was not unfounded.
The rest of the Liu family also wore expressions of awe, their heads bowed in deference.
Liu Biao and his wife lay prostrate on the ground, docile as lambs.
‘No wonder this old woman holds such high prestige in the Liu family. Today, I’ve truly witnessed her brilliance.’
Even Qi Huang couldn’t help but admire her from the bottom of her heart.
“Alright, now that the truth is out, you two first used evil spirits to murder your elder brother, then plotted to kill your own ancestor. Your crimes are unforgivable. However, since you are family, I’m willing to give you a chance to redeem yourselves.”
Qi Huang stepped forward. “Now, answer me one question, who was the person from Xitong Kingdom who sent medicine to the Old Madam all these years?”
At this question, the Liu family members also perked up with curiosity.
Liu Yingyue inwardly praised Qi Huang’s cleverness, why waste time investigating when they could simply ask the culprits directly?
“It… It was Sister-in-law Wang Hong!”
Liu Biao’s words struck like thunder.
“What? My mother?”
Liu Yingmei suddenly stood up.
The entire hall fell into dead silence. Everyone exchanged stunned glances, their faces frozen in shock.
“I knew it. Of all the people I know, she’s the only one in Xitong Kingdom.”
Lady Shen sighed and shook her head. “But why would she send me such precious medicine for twenty years?”

“Sister-in-law said… she was afraid that because she betrayed Elder Brother, her children would be treated coldly in the Liu family. She wanted to make amends, hoping the family would treat Yingmei and the others well.”
Liu Biao answered cautiously.
“And so? You bastard, you kept my mother’s gifts for yourself, making us siblings endure twenty years of scorn?”
Liu Yingmei flew into a rage, lunging forward to punch and kick Liu Biao. Her half-siblings joined in the assault.
Liu Zheng, their father, hesitated, a complicated expression on his face. Though he had never treated his children differently because of their mother’s betrayal, he couldn’t control the rumors. It was only natural for them to vent their anger.
Liu Yingliang, the eldest brother, looked guilty. He had been the most overt in discriminating against his half-siblings.
Before long, Liu Biao and his wife were handed over to the authorities by the clan, finally bringing the Liu family’s affairs to a close.
“If you want them dead immediately, I can arrange it. There’s no need to wait for the law to punish them.”
Qi Huang took a moment to ask Liu Yingyue privately.
Unable to decide, Liu Yingyue sought her father’s opinion.
“Forget it. They’ll be executed anyway. If I kill them myself, how am I any different from them?”
After much deliberation, Liu Zheng shook his head. He still had his principles.
Three days later, Qi Huang set out from the capital once more with Liu Yingyue and Xia Wei. She had kept her promise, just as she had brought them to the capital, she would now escort them back.
Several days after that, Qi Huang safely delivered Liu Yingyue and Xia Wei to the Golden Fortune Auction House before rushing straight to Pingshan Mass Burial Ground, for within her spatial ring lay the barely alive Old Master Liu.
Qi Huang soon arrived at the burial ground and entrusted Liu Zheng’s care to Yaoyao.
Since Pingshan was a land of extreme yin energy, Liu Zheng could move about freely like an ordinary person, unafraid of yang energy’s harm. Moreover, he no longer had to worry about aging or illness, truly a case of “a loss may turn out to be a gain”.
With everything settled, Qi Huang finally headed for the Honghua Sect. In less than a month, the Immortal Alliance would announce the rules for the next Evergreen Conference. Now that her worries were resolved, it was time to focus on improving her strength.
