Volume 7, Chapter 370 – I’ll Make Her Regret It
“Sorry, I refuse!”
Qi Huang crossed her arms in front of her chest, her tone resolute.
“Why? Isn’t my plan a good one? It not only bypasses the Immortal Alliance’s obstruction but also avoids potential interference from outside geniuses.”
Xu Mei couldn’t understand her refusal.
“No need. I have confidence in my own strength. Remember what I said? I want to make it so that Steward Cai has no room to alter the results. If we do this, it’ll be like admitting fear.”
Qi Huang stated her reasoning firmly.
“Use your brain for once! Don’t just act on impulse. Our most important goal is to get the Golden Fate Blossom seeds as quickly as possible. If the Immortal Alliance can resort to underhanded schemes, why must we play the role of reckless fools?”
Cheng Hongling grew visibly frustrated.
Qi Huang’s lips curled into a bright smile. “You know what? When you were eliminated twice in the Evergreen Conference, I felt it as if it were my own failure. So I swore I’d never let you experience that kind of defeat again. That’s why I won’t split up with you.”
At these words, Cheng Hongling’s expression faltered. Her gaze flickered away, and a faint blush colored her fair cheeks.
The elders exchanged glances, momentarily at a loss for words.
“You need to think this through clearly. This is your last chance to obtain the Golden Fate Blossom seeds. Three years from now, the owner of those seeds will come to collect them. You won’t have another opportunity before the next Evergreen Conference.”
After a pause, Xu Mei spoke with grave sincerity.
“That’s right. You’re still too young. You don’t understand how ruthless the world can be. Some problems can’t be solved by strength alone. If the Immortal Alliance has decided to make trouble for you, they’ll stop at nothing.”
Cheng Yuan chimed in agreement.
“It’s fine. I’ve already made up my mind. If we can’t get them, then so be it.”
Qi Huang shook her head lightly, her tone breezy.

“Then how are we supposed to explain things to that person?”
Xu Mei asked, stunned.
“No need for explanations. If we fail to obtain the Golden Fate Blossom seeds, I’ll just go with him as bait.”
Qi Huang dropped this bombshell without hesitation.
“What do you mean?”
The elders were once again dumbfounded.
“Just what are you planning? Do you have any idea how dangerous the places where Golden Fate Blossoms grow are?”
Cheng Hongling frowned, her voice laced with concern.
Qi Huang took a deep breath before stepping forward solemnly.
“All of us from Huangtian Prefecture have suffered discrimination because of our short stature. Not only do people from the entire Western Radiance Dynasty look down on us, but even those from other regions within the state treat us with contempt. I’m sure everyone here has experienced this firsthand, right?”
“And then?”
Cheng Hongling paused briefly before pressing further.
“Ever since I was little, I’ve held onto a dream—that if I ever became strong enough, I’d free Huangtian Prefecture from the stigma of being called a ‘rat’s nest’. Now that the opportunity has come, I can use myself as bait to gather more Golden Fate Blossom seeds. Then, we can feed them to our people like walnuts. One day, every person from Huangtian Prefecture will be able to look down on outsiders!”
Qi Huang clenched her delicate fist as she declared her lofty ambition.
Silence fell over the courtyard. Everyone stared at her with complex expressions. No one had expected that the usually carefree Qi Huang harbored such grand aspirations.
“Your ideals are noble, but you must act within your means.”
After a long pause, Cheng Yuan spoke with deep concern.

“Don’t worry. If my strength isn’t enough, I won’t throw my life away. That’s why securing the Golden Fate Blossom seeds at the Evergreen Conference is the best outcome, it’ll give me the choice of whether to go or not.”
Qi Huang inhaled deeply, moved by her own words.
Hearing this, the others could no longer bring themselves to object. Thus, the proposal for Qi Huang to act alone was ultimately rejected.
A few days later, Yaoyao returned, cradling yet another battered Nine Nether Demon Cat in her arms.
“Where did you snatch this one from? At this rate, you’ll have stolen every last Nine Nether Demon Cat in the Western Radiance Dynasty.”
Qi Huang couldn’t help but marvel. Her spatial ring already held over thirty of these creatures. Aside from the initial nine, the rest had been forcibly acquired by Yaoyao on her raids.
“It’s fine. If I run out in the Western Radiance Dynasty, I’ll just go to other countries!”
Yaoyao tightened her small fist defiantly.
“Do you think I’m worried about you failing? I’m concerned for you! If you keep this up, you’ll become the enemy of the entire cultivation world!”
Qi Huang’s voice was laced with worry.
“So what? I can’t just stand by and watch my kin suffer at the hands of those cultivators!”
Yaoyao’s resolve was unshakable.
Qi Huang opened her mouth but ultimately held back. She knew Yaoyao wouldn’t listen, and she understood her feelings too well to argue further.
Meanwhile, at the Immortal Alliance’s branch office in the state capital, Steward Cai received a long-distance communication from his master, Elder Zuo.

“Cai De, have you announced the rules for the Yongning State Evergreen Conference’s competition?”
Elder Zuo inquired.
“Yes, Master! As per your instructions, I added a rule allowing doppelgängers to participate independently. However…”
Steward Cai hesitated.
“However what?”
Elder Zuo’s tone remained calm.
“However, Yongning Prefecture is remote, and news won’t spread far. At most, it’ll only attract the attention of the major sects within the Western Radiance Dynasty. Given that wretched girl’s strength, there’s still a chance she’ll break through, unless the top geniuses of the major sects personally come to intercept her. Sending just their doppelgängers won’t be enough.”
Steward Cai voiced his concerns.
“No need to worry. Since I ordered the rule change, I’ve already made preparations. With an Immortal Alliance elder like me drumming up attention, do you really think cultivators from other nations won’t hear of it?”
Elder Zuo reassured him.
“But even if they do hear, there’s no guarantee they’ll come. The rewards for a state-level Evergreen Conference are meager, how could they possibly tempt those geniuses?”
Steward Cai raised another objection.
“That is indeed a problem.”
Elder Zuo fell silent for a moment before speaking again. “If the rewards are too small, then we’ll increase them. I’ll provide the prizes myself. I’m certain they’ll pique the interest of those prodigies.”
“What? You’re providing them yourself? Isn’t the cost too high?”
Steward Cai was utterly shocked. He knew that anything capable of attracting those monsters would be exorbitantly valuable.
“It doesn’t matter. That wretched girl actually dared to exploit this elder. This time, I’ll make sure she regrets everything she’s done.”

Elder Zuo’s voice dripped with icy malice.
‘Just how much do you hate her?!’
Steward Cai inwardly grumbled but dared not voice his thoughts.
Once the communication ended, Elder Zuo turned and pulled out a large chest from beneath his bed, a collection of gifts he had received over his years as a high-ranking elder.
Opening it, he revealed an assortment of boxes and jars, their contents exuding a rich medicinal fragrance.
Elder Zuo selected several boxes and placed them on the table. These were precious spirit herbs essential for breaking through to the Incarnation Realm. Due to the Immortal Alliance’s strict control, they were impossible to obtain on the open market. With these as rewards, he was certain to lure geniuses from other nations, perhaps even a few prodigies from the Central Continent.
“Wang Tao, come in!”
Elder Zuo called toward the door.
“Elder, what are your orders?”
A young man entered and bowed respectfully.
“Deliver these items to the Immortal Alliance’s Yongning Prefecture branch. Inform Steward Cai that they are to be the rewards for the upcoming Evergreen Conference.”
Elder Zuo commanded.
“Understood!”
The young man carefully gathered the items and swiftly departed.
“Now that the rewards are settled, it’s time to spread the word. This time, I’ll make sure that wretched girl understands her own insignificance. How dare a sixteen or seventeen-year-old brat at the early Incarnation Realm look down on others? In the grand scheme of the cultivation world, she’s nothing!”
Elder Zuo sneered, his voice thick with disdain.
