Volume 7, Chapter 400 – She Actually Ate Melon Seeds on the Arena
The group from the Chongyue Sect crowded at the edge of the stage was utterly dumbfounded. They had initially gathered with schadenfreude, eager to watch the Honghua Sect get crushed by the Huxiao Sect. Yet, to their shock, the Huxiao Sect never showed up. Instead, they were faced with an unknown sect they had never seen before. The disciples of this mysterious sect looked sallow and emaciated, as if they hadn’t eaten a proper meal in ages. At a glance, it was clear they were no formidable opponents.
“Who the hell are these rat-faced bastards? Wasn’t our opponent supposed to be the Huxiao Sect?”
The elderly leader of the Chongyue Sect scanned his surroundings, but even his disciples wore expressions of blank confusion.
“Elder Yue, it seems the Huxiao Sect also switched their lot!”
A quick-witted disciple hurriedly reminded him.
“What? Why would those bastards switch for no reason? Aren’t they the greatest immortal sect in Yongning Province? Since when do they fear any other sect? Useless trash!”
Elder Yue couldn’t help but curse aloud. He had never imagined that after swallowing his pride to strong-arm others, he had instead delivered a gift straight into their hands.
“Elder Zhou, I think the Honghua Sect must have switched their lot!”
At this moment, Lu Zhen of the Huxiao Sect also pieced together the truth.
“You’re only figuring that out now? Even the dog at the gate of the Huxiao Sect could analyze better than you!”
Zhou Ming, flushed with rage, lashed out without caring whether Lu Zhen was the Huxiao Sect’s top immortal seedling. After his outburst, he pressed on with a series of furious questions: “The real question is, why would they switch? Wasn’t drawing the Yuanyuan Sect the best possible outcome? Huh?”
Lu Zhen was stunned, then immediately began racking his brains for an explanation.
“Unless…”
Elder Zhou frowned slightly after a moment of contemplation and demanded, “When you exchanged lots with the Yuanyuan Sect that day, was it truly done in secret?”
“I swear it was! I called the Yuanyuan Sect’s leader to a secluded spot to make the exchange, and I even used my divine sense to block any eavesdropping!”
Lu Zhen defended himself fervently.
“This makes no sense!”
Zhou Ming gritted his teeth.

“Elder Zhou, don’t worry! Their luck won’t hold forever. In the next round, we’ll wait until the last possible moment before the match to switch lots with their opponent. Let’s see where they can run then!”
Lu Zhen hurriedly offered a solution.
“At least you’re not completely brain-dead.”
Elder Zhou’s expression softened slightly.
On the stage, the disciples of the Yuanyuan Sect trembled in fear. One of them asked in a tearful voice, “Senior Brother, didn’t we switch lots with the Huxiao Sect? Why are we still facing the Honghua Sect?”
Qi Huang immediately grasped the situation upon hearing this. Clearly, this was the result of mutual lot-switching. Otherwise, such a “coincidence” would be impossible.
“I get it now. The Huxiao Sect must have switched with the Yuanyuan Sect to eliminate us, while the Chongyue Sect, who originally drew the Huxiao Sect, didn’t want a direct confrontation and forced us to switch with them instead. In the end, the whole thing was just a pointless circle!”
Yun Fei deduced the truth almost entirely.
“So that’s what happened!”
The group had an epiphany.
“But why would the Yuanyuan Sect agree to switch? Is the Chongyue Sect’s immortal seedling really that weak?”
Ruan Lingyu asked, puzzled.
“I investigated secretly. Compared to Little Junior Sister, they are indeed weak, their top immortal seedling is only at the mid-stage of the Unity Realm. So, in the eyes of the Yuanyuan Sect’s higher-ups, fighting them is still better than fighting us.”
Wang Zong chimed in from the side.
“A mere mid-stage Unity Realm cultivator dares to come all this way to meddle?”
Qi Huang was astonished.
“They were probably hoping to get lucky. In the Evergreen Conference, when strong opponents clash, both sides suffer heavy losses. The surviving side is often left powerless, allowing others to swoop in and take advantage. This kind of thing has happened before.”

Cheng Hongling analyzed.
Qi Huang took a deep breath, then turned toward the Chongyue Sect’s direction and taunted: “Well, well! Members of the Chongyue Sect, are you running a charity temple?”
“What nonsense are you spouting? Our Chongyue Sect is a top-tier immortal sect!”
Elder Yue immediately retorted.
“If that’s the case, then why are you all such living Bodhisattvas 1 活菩萨 (huó púsà = living Bodhisattvas), Bodhisattva is a Buddhist figure who has achieved enlightenment but chooses to remain in the world to help others achieve salvation. Sarcastically said by Qi Huang in this context ? You forced us to switch lots, handing us a weaker opponent while taking on the Huxiao Sect yourselves!”
Qi Huang deliberately put on an exaggerated expression of gratitude.
The Chongyue Sect’s members trembled with fury, their faces turning red with humiliation. Elder Yue, in particular, looked as if he might shatter his teeth from sheer rage.
The Huxiao Sect’s group finally understood what had happened and glared at the Chongyue Sect with venomous eyes.
“So it was these idiots who ruined our plans! When we face them in two days, beat them to death!”
Zhou Ming snarled through clenched teeth.
Now that they knew the truth, the Honghua Sect’s disciples were electrified, cracking their knuckles and glaring at the Yuanyuan Sect with predatory eyes.
Qi Huang, however, looked utterly bored. The opponents were too weak to be satisfying. The only value in this match was letting her junior brothers and sisters show off a little.
“What do we do, Senior Brother?”
The Yuanyuan Sect’s disciples, on the other hand, were panic-stricken, all looking helplessly at their leader.
“What else can we do? Fight!”
The senior brother forced a bitter smile and added, “Actually, facing them isn’t so bad. Rather than getting beaten up by those stinking men, it’s better to lose at the hands of Fairy Hongling. Who knows? We might even make a profit!”
“Make a profit? What do you mean?”

A junior brother pressed for details.
“Don’t you know? Fairy Hongling is currently the number one beauty of the Western Radiance Dynasty. Anything she touches becomes incredibly valuable! For example, three years ago, someone was kicked by her. He never washed that piece of clothing and later sold it for hundreds of taels of silver! If her jade-like hands had touched it, the price would’ve been countless times higher! So, getting beaten by her isn’t a punishment, it’s a reward! Of course, you’d need incredible luck for that!”
The senior brother’s eyes gleamed with excitement as he explained.
“Really? Senior Brother, why didn’t you say so earlier? If we’d known, why would we have switched lots?”
“This is amazing! Let’s start already. I’m itching all over, desperate for Fairy Hongling’s reward!”
“I still need a few hundred taels to buy spirit medicine. Now I’m set, this trip to the Evergreen Conference wasn’t in vain!”
The Yuanyuan Sect’s disciples’ morale skyrocketed, their demeanors completely different from before.
“Disgusting!”
Cheng Hongling’s delicate face twisted in revulsion.
“Can you all handle these guys?”
Qi Huang asked her junior brothers and sisters.
“Don’t worry, leave them to us!”
Ruan Lingyu cracked her knuckles eagerly.
Qi Huang said nothing more. Instead, she pulled out a stool from her spatial ring, sat down, and started cracking melon seeds, even placing another stool in front of her main body out of courtesy.
Cheng Hongling, however, did not appreciate the gesture. As a young woman, she couldn’t bring herself to be as shameless as Qi Huang.
“Good heavens! She’s actually cracking melon seeds on the stage? How arrogant!”
“She’s only acting like this because her opponents are weak! Let’s see if she dares to be this insolent against a real sect!”

“Exactly! A lowly-blooded doppelgänger. What was Cheng Hongling thinking, always letting her out to embarrass herself?”
Some of the cultivators below couldn’t take it anymore and began hurling insults. After the “Imperial Consort Selection” incident, the fact that Qi Huang had lowly blood had spread throughout the entire Western Radiance Dynasty.
“Oh? Does the Immortal Alliance have any rules against cracking melon seeds on the stage?”
Qi Huang retorted indifferently, leaving the cultivators speechless.
“Esteemed fellow Daoist, may we begin? We can’t wait any longer!”
At this moment, the Yuanyuan Sect’s senior brother asked the Immortal Alliance disciple overseeing the match.
“Yes! We can’t wait either!”
Ruan Lingyu also urged impatiently.
“Since both sides are ready, Match 15 versus Match 16, begin now!”
The Immortal Alliance disciple announced. The moment his voice fell, the disciples of both sects lunged at each other like starving wolves.
The Yuanyuan Sect’s disciples, desperate for Cheng Hongling’s “reward”, brandished their weapons, determined to eliminate the other Honghua Sect members standing in their way.
The Honghua Sect’s disciples, equally fired up, drew their weapons. The moment the five female disciples unsheathed their swords, the entire audience was nearly blinded.
The five swords emitted an eerie blue glow, radiating a bone-chilling cold even from a distance. Their blades were covered in densely packed scale-like patterns.
“By the heavens, are those Blue Scale Stone swords?!”
The cultivators below gasped in shock.
The Yuanyuan Sect’s disciples, mid-charge, were also startled and scrambled to halt their advance.
